I'm enjoying this one too. Hrmm, am I the only one here without a Loghain-related fanfic?
I'm way too out of practice to attempt to write a good fanfic. Too much exposition. I wrote a really terrible fic about WH, though.

I think I've written two one-shots that involve Loghain in some way but I'm putting off really writing him until after I finish the books...which I might get for Christmas.CalJones wrote...

For a Loggy fan, I sure kill him a lot.
To spark some life back into the thread, of all your playthroughs on how many has Loghain been spared and on how many has he bitten the dust at the Landsmeet?

I've killed him twice in the Landsmeet (one of which is my 2nd favorite playthrough). Out of 6 games (in 2 of them, he dies to the archie).
So, it's 1/3 executed, 1/3 redeemer, 1/3 goes to Orlais.
I am balanced like that.

I've had all of four complete playthroughs, and he only lives in one, but she's my canon. And he won't be dying again.Zjarcal wrote...

I only turn down the DR for seeing-how-it-goes purposes so it's not canon for any of my characters. My Queen Cousland reluctantly killed Loghain because although she was a huge fan she wanted to be queen more. All of my other characters spare him.To spark some life back into the thread, of all your playthroughs on how many has Loghain been spared and on how many has he bitten the dust at the Landsmeet?

I only have two complete playthroughs. In the first I executed Loghain, and in the second I spared him and did the DR. And I seriously doubt my ability to kill in him future playthroughs, but I guess we'll see.

Hey, this is the same as me! Of my four runs he only lives in my HNF one, but that's my canon. Yay!
I have done the Redeemer ending but only to see it, then I reloaded back. All my games end with the DR accepted. I kind of wish I had it in me to finish one game with a Redeemer ending since it's so powerful and I really love it.

I have another HNF and HNM right now (sorry, love the Cousland origin) and he'll be spared in both. My HNM will do the DR and marry Anora, and my HNF will do the Redeemer ending.Zjarcal wrote...

The only reason I can see to kill him would be to let Alistair kill the AD, and I don't see that happening.

Wow KoP, that is some serious balance!
Was it hard turning down the DR for you, even if it fit the character?

It actually wasn't intentional lol It just happened.
I'll replay all of them when I get the PC version and add in some new ones. I think the balance would be somewhat maintained.
And yes, it was...very much so

My Dalish will be too angry and spiteful about the slavery issue. Similar reason to my CE, although in her case it was more personal obviously. I keep trying to find a reason as to why my Dalish would be willing to overlook this stuff but the way I've played her it wouldn't make sense for her to overlook it.
So is her reasoning to kill him a bit on the crappy side? To be honest, yeah.
But hey, at least things didn't turn out as bad as I thought they were gonna be. I originally thought I was gonna put Alistair on the throne (unhardened

Hey, it's cool! I was just curious.

) because my Dalish, in her naivety, almost exposed Anora during the Cauthrien confrontation.
I've been wanting to do another playthrough so bad recently. I have some characters thought up and I'm so curious how the game would play out with them (because both my previous characters kind of took on a life of their own and surprised me, even though I thought I knew what would happen).

He died in my first playthrough. Alistair dueled him and killed him. At that time I didn't even know there was another way. The cutscene REALLY moved and shocked me. Then I dueled him myself and he died again. His daughter speech killed my resolve to execute him. Then I began to read the novels and I tried to understand him more. Ever since, he has only been executed once, by my city elf. I have 2 playthroughs where he was executed, 4 where he redeemed himself and 2 where he goes to Orlais.

I love it when a character takes on a life of their own. This happened to me in Awakening with an Orlesian assassin. I intended for her to be a flat out jerk at first but she evolved into a cunning and devious, smooth talking lass. She was a horrible person nonetheless.

Agreed. He doesn't exactly sound like a farmer, I don't think. Then again, I have no idea what a medieval farmer would sound like.Addai67 wrote...
