Thanks Morwen, I knew I'd seen it somewhere! Didn't realise it was soignee. I'm rather partial to the Three Keyboard Cat Moon shirt, personally...
I saw the Three Wolf Moon shirt in a shop at Wildwood NJ last time I was in the US, so I bought it for a friend. I said to the woman running the shop "oh I bet you sell a load of these!" and she said yes, but she didn't seem to have a clue why.
Then again you can also find deep fried butter at Wildwood.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

On behalf of America, I. . .well, I don't know if I should apologize, or what.

But we may have an alternative Loggy shirt design concept. . .because the person who markets THE Three Wolf Moon Shirt on Amazon also has this to offer:

The Silver Dragon Shirt.

Now it's true, there's only one dragon on it, but replace the moon with that dragon and add three scowling/brooding/snarling Loghains. . .epic.

Well Loghain has to forgive me.

I have been getting husk rushed on Insanity in ME2, for the whole morning.

If it's Orlesian husks, that's ok.

We need to discuss something about Loghain. Hmmm. Something new.

Have we talked about how Loghain would react to hearing about Cauthrien ambushing the Warden outside of the Landsmeet?

Heh Giggles, I've been playing that (LotSB and all that) and am currently replaying ME1. Now that's odd. I love the game but the interface feels so clunky after ME2. I moaned about the loss of the inventory when I started playing it but now I've gone back to ME1 and spend half the game arranging it, selling stuff, making sure everyone's weapons have the newest upgrades...well I think they made the right choice.

I'm wondering if we'll all end up loving the new style DA2 after we've played it and will find Origins clunky by comparison.

I'd be surprised if they managed to create an antagonist as awesome as Loghain, though.

No, we haven't.
I don't think he'd be pleased. He put her in her place once, I think he would make it clear to her again.

Of course a hypothetical situation, if the Warden and Alistair are killed by her.
Hmmm, I wonder what the reaction of the Landmseet would be. I think an all out free for all is most likely.

Followed some time later by the utter destruction of Fereldan as there are no wardens left to slay the archdemon. (I'm rather doubting Riordan would be allowed to live, either).

I don't think Loghain would approve of Cauthrien's intervention, either way.

My Mage is on her way! Posted Image She will be keeping her "date" with Loghain at the Landsmeet. Right now she's in the Circle tower and I'm trying to figure out exactly how long she should hold on to Wynne. I will be losing her during the Sacred Ashes quest, which I was therefore planning on doing last just so I can have Wynne available to heal in Orzammar and the Brecilian Forest, but at the moment I can't think of a good RP reason not to head straight for Haven after the Circle. I'm also considering bringing Wynne with me to the Urn, even though I know what will happen. Which brings me to another question: if Wynne dies in the Ashes quest, will I lose the support of the Mages?

I know this is sort of off-topic, but it does actually concern Loghain --I knew that I wanted to recruit Loghain at least once and also to defile the Ashes once both for the achievement and to unlock the Reaver specialization. I figured that having the same character do both would be nice for Loghain as he won't then have to deal with Wynne's comments.

Well you're not obliged to take Wynne (through the whole game) - you can turn her down after doing Broken Circle, after all.

If Cauthrien managed to kill Alistair than Eamon would have no choice but to support Anora's bid. If it were discovered that Cauthrien did it then Loghain's regency might be voted down. Would Eamon have a champion that could beat Loghain? If not then Eamon would die unless he could swear allegiance fast enough. Riordan might be able to quickly explain something of why he's needed. Would he be willing to reveal that a GW has to kill the Archdemon privately to Loghain and/or Anora in order to stop the Blight? Of course, unless he makes another Warden Ferelden would still be toast as he gets himself killed quickly.

I do find it strange that he doesn't seem to react when your party enters the Landsmeet covered in her blood (as well as others', of course). Of course he doesn't know it's hers, but the gory entrance alone should raise an Eyebrow (as well as an opportunity to make the Wardens look bad); and certainly you'd think that the fight could be heard from inside the chamber, or that someone would rush in during the Landsmeet to report the carnage. Then again, those Fereldens don't ever seem to notice a carcass or several. I love going back to an area in which battles took place, oh, ages ago, and still seeing the bones and pools of blood from my old victims. "Hey guys. . .this is really unsanitary, you know. . .you think someone could clean this up? Sheesh."

But back to Loghain and the Landsmeet : I think in my first playthrough I even equipped Sten with the Summer Sword immediately after killing Cauthrien and he walked into the Landsmeet chamber with it on his back. . .nothing.

True, but I had planned to make use of her healing skills for as long as possible. Neither Morrigan nor I are healing mages, though I may have to make Morrigan a Spirit Healer at Level 14 just so one of us gets the Revival spell.

Well my shield has a nice dint in it the first time from Cauthrien's face.

He didnt notice it then.

I also killed him on my first run because I had never really talked to many people, and had never read the books.

I am redoing it now because of how fail it was.

Just like no one reacts if you use blood magic on Loghain in front of everyone, including the Chantry mother.

I love playing a blood mage especially with the restored Wynne dialouge.

Its like: Who me a blood mage? nah.
Irving: Nope its cool, Wardens are allowed and such.
Gregior/Wynne: Ok.
Irving and Me:<put cool shades on and smile like gangsters>

Safe to say Loghain never had a chance.  But, that my mage probably ruined her budding career as court mage to anyone outside of the Imperium.

You can turn Wynne into a blood mage and ponce into the Landsmeet wearing King Cailan's armour and wielding Maric's sword and no one comments. There's a lot of cool stuff in the game, but there's a marked lack of attention to detail.

Haha yeah I've always thought about that whenever I use blood wound on Loghain in the Landsmeet. For all her arse and glory the Revered Mother couldn't recognize blood magic right in front of her nose. Andraste would disapprove.

So thinking about Ostagar, reminded me of an old battle I read about:

The Battle of Aquae Sextiae, where Gaius Marius faced off against the Teutons and Ambrones.

While the armies are smaller in the case of Ostagar it is the same plan basically.

The large part of the army holds the enemies at bay at the top of a valley and when the foes have committed themselves to it, the rest of the army charges them in a flank attack.

Except that more Darkspawn flowed into the valley meaning that Loghain did not have the ability to flank like the Romans did. Turns out that the plan actually was sound and could have worked IF there were fewer darkspawn on the field.

So there goes the argument that Loghain is a bad general that I see.

Right; he is just a bad golfer, and forgets to follow through.....

No Giggles, he obviously must have planned for every possible contingency and he should have planned to somehow flank a much larger army. He should have improvised, why do they call him a good general then?

Anyways, clearly some threads are not a place where you can discuss Loghain and expect reasonable arguments.

Yeah, hearing people say: "Well, if the plan that Loghain created wasn't good enough to take on the sheer numbers the darkspawn had that no one knew about then why didn't he create another plan? It's not like he's being forced to come up with the best plan he can with the forces available by Cailan who wants to fight and it's absolutely impossible that it might have been a battle that was impossible to win" gets really annoying after awhile.
