Is it? Because it makes me wish I had a bottle of brandy for a hot toddy. To help with my congestion of course. :?

Chest congestion is terrible.  I often have a brandy . . .err, keep some brandy around . . .just to ward it off.  Posted Image

Mine is all in my head. My entire face hurt last Tuesday and Wednesday. And then of course I told my brother that my face hurt, and he said "It hurts me too." <_<

Ahh, I remember making comments like that.
I was a little pest.  Posted Image

@ sarah - luckily, we all grow older . . .and the alcohol is still there.  Posted Image

TJ speaks the truth, Sarah! And probably especially about his being a pest, considering how much he enjoys badgering us in these Loghain threads.

It's always best to start early, if you ask me.

Already read it. I liked the dynamics of the ball and the mushy parts even more so. I continue to enjoy how well you write Loghain. Nicely done. :)

Aww. Sweet, mushy goodness. Though I'm as intrigued by the political stuff going on as I am by the romance. Posted Image

Yeah, I'm gonna quit, because I can't write it if Maric's not in it.

Just kidding.  But still, :crying:.

Loghain is not very deep, Short Sited Paranoid, Over Patriotic With a Superiority Complex and a Sense everyone owes him. Lets talk about flemmeth(similar to Kreia herald as the deepest RPG character of all time) or perhaps even Oghen. or Daveth or Duncan, Maybe even Morrigan and possibly. Heck the Queen is more an eligible character than Loghain.

That's a lotta emotes!  Thank you.  And, I'm right there in the tear-filled puddle.  Though it was the previous chapter that was hard on the Maric fangirl in me.

Heh, I thought you liked him.  I have 's in my eyes so I just can't imagine anyone not!  Then again I get comments that people who normally don't like Loghain do like him in the story.  They sometimes sound worried by that fact.  LOL

It is worrisome at first, but eventually you embrace it. I was not a Loghain fan before reading "Sensible Creatures", and a seed of doubt was planted. Phaonica helped nurture that little seedling... and then I finally broke down and recruited Loghain... and read the prequel books... and then, um, things spiraled wildly out of control from there. I wouldn't say 'spiralled out of control' for myself, but I definitely have to admit that it was the fanfics that somewhat softened my view on Loghain - although I still tend to treat him harshly ingame. The problem is that as a player you don't know anything about Loghain at all, and due to his actions and other peoples' reactions around you you tend to be heavily biased against him. He is 'the evil', and one tends to forget he is a human being with emotions and a personal life outside politics. So thanks to all the authors of the incredible fanfics that opened me to his... other side. :)

@Addai67: And while I'm at it, a great compliment to you for your 'Arrangement' story. I just recently stumbled across it, and I must admit that it's drawn me in - can't wait for the next chapter!^^

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.  The game doesn't give you much for Loghain, it's true.  Not before you recruit him, anyway.  Even his post-LM dialogues could end up confirming him as a jerk, depending on how you take them.  But they don't give you much on Maric or the Orlesian occupation, either.  I get the impression that a lot of that was developed after the initial game concept was already in place.

I think so too. And I think that's also why there are some inconsitencies between the in game material and DG's novels.

In any case, I think my Loghain love stemmed not from the books (which I read later) but from the awesome voice acting. His Landsmeet rant is nothing short of awesome.

Simon Templeman is awesome in any role he voices.
Loghain (DA)
Admiral Han Gerrel (ME2)
Dr. Archer (ME2 Overlord DLC)

His VO ability is top notch!

edit: Did any else notice the comparison between:
Han Gerrel/Rael Zorah and  Loghain/Maric if you played both games.
