I'm not sure what it is, but Loghain looks different in the first Denerim cutscene, the scene with Zevran, and the scene with Anora and Howe. The circles aren't as dark as they are in the cutscenes that include the Warden. I'm sure there' some technical reason, since morphs don't change any of those characters' appearances, but he looks like a happy medium between "well-rested" and Addai's  "bar fight" description.

Sure, why not?  Someone's got to do it, and he's definitely got the skills and nerve.

Soo.... is it left to me to bring the thread back on topic?  What are you coming to, Loghainites?  LOL

I have to study tonight. All work and no play. Image IPB

Eh, no offence but I personally hate how Loghain looks with that mod Addai. I am like Knight is with Morrigan: I can't stand him modded in any way.

You prefer him to look like he's been in a bar fight?   All tmp's mod does is take out the purple under his eyes.  I don't use structural mods on any NPCs, but small things like that (or some extra scruff on Alistair) are just normal variations that could happen to any person.

Loghain is a general who fights on the front lines, who regrets sending good men and women to their deaths. Who feels the burden of an entire country on his shoulders. He almost never get's a good night's sleep and he constantly thinks of Fereldan's future.

So yes, that is EXACTLY how he should look like.

Maybe it's the lighting.

Yes, you had to go with the "obvious" explanation, didn't you? :P

Because I have no idea. Image IPB There are certainly some scenes when I've thought to myself that the morphs just have to be different. If it really is just the lighting causing such a huge difference, I'll have a new appreciation for video game lighting effects.

Yeah well, to each her own.  I don't apologize for my Alistair tweaks either.  :)

Understandable. I use a Loghain appearance Mod myself. (DAO Redesigned....I LOVE it!) :)

Well this is how he looks in the same place, without mods. I actually prefer him like this.

They all have different appeals. The only Loghain morph I ever used for more than a little while actually makes him look even older, heh. Otherwise I do like my Loghain vanilla. Image IPB

That's because the Warden stresses him out more than anything else at the moment, apparently? Image IPB

Hah, I hadn't known a mod existed to take the dark circles from under his eyes. He looks...different! As much as I like a younger, more rested looking Loghain, part of his charisma is the war weariness.

Interesting to see that Alistair fans aren't the only ones passionate about their morphs/ tweaks. As I always say over there, I like the vanilla, I just like the tweak better. Personally I only violently respond to total rehashes of NPCs.

Ah, that's your choice then. Personally I just think NPCs should look like they would in reality in the situations they are in. Alistair looks like a model and yet he shouldn't considering the fact he is fighting constantly or either walking for a great deal of time every day with very few stops at inns.

Loghain, even at Ostagar, has to look worse for the wear. He's led a hard life and it should show. All of which is a windy way of saying I prefer the vanilla Loghain to a lot of the mods I've seen. His face has to show character not be smooth like some tenny bopper idol.

Yes, it is my choice, that is what I've been saying from the beginning.  Image IPB  I do get weary of such debates over at Alistairland every time a screenshot is posted.  Sorry to have brought the same sort of debate over here.  As for Ali, I give him more scruff, and I tend to make my PCs fairly rough looking with little makeup and avoid overly shiny armors, so in principle I agree with what you're saying.  I prefer a realistic look.

I find that if I ever want to look at a younger Loghain, I'll just youtube Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne. I don't suspect there are any reskins of that! Hehe.

Like Costin, I firmly believe that Loghain should not be changed. I think he is supposed to look physically and mentally drained. Being like this in Origins, while having a much brighter face in Awakening, also reveals something interesting in Loghain's character. That he doesn't want power and that he finds being a commander to be a burden, not a privilege.

As a rule I won't mod character appearances - not even the portraits in Baldur's Gate II. I like to play the game as the developer intended. Having said that, subtle tweaks (more stubble, for instance, or possibly a different hairstyle) aren't such a bad thing. I did see one horrendous Alistair morph over on this squee thread that made him look like a 15 year old. It was paedo-tastic.

There are a few characters that I still mod, and some that just must be vanilla (in my own game). There were a few that I tried a few morphs on before deciding that I liked their vanilla look after all. I don't mind if people post pics with their modded characters! :D

I dont change anyones face in the game.

I leave them as is, although I am tempted to put a paper bag on Cammen's head.

Sten: Pashara, why did you do that warden, it was uncalled for.

Me: It was for his own good. <dead serious>

Personally I use Dragon Age redesigned to change Sten and Leliana's faces to look like in the trailer. I also use lore mod for Zevran and I change Morrigan's to this.

Not as hot in my book. She does seem more 'attractive' with it but not as sultry.

Ok Costin, no more complaints out of you about me giving Loghain a few hours of sleep!
