Well, I have a question about the River Dane Armor. I just looked it up on the Wiki because I wanted to view its stats as compared to the Legion of the Dead armor, with which I was considering equipping Loghain after I recruit him. Obviously the River Dane armor's stats are way superior to the LOtD, so so he'll be staying in that and I'll give the LOtD armor to Sten or someone. But after reading the story behind it, I'm a bit curious as to why Loghain continues to wear it. I understand how significant it was to him at the time that he "acquired" it, and how inspiring and gratifying it would be for people to see him in it while the Orlesians were being rousted and in the period just afterwards, but in the end it's still an Orlesian chevalier's armor. I'm a bit surprised that Loghain didn't hang it as a trophy in some prominent place in his estate and then have his own damn set of armor made.

P.S. Nice screenshot, KoP. Is that an Archdemon being skewered there?

I think it has become too symbolic for him to stop wearing it. Yes, it belonged to a Chevalier commander which is why it's symbolic I guess. It represents Ferelden taking its freedom from Orlais maybe. I think it's for the same reason people still call Loghain the Hero of the River Dane after 30 years.

Notice however that he doesn't wear that armor at Ostagar, he wears a darker armor. At least I think so, maybe I am wrong.

You're not wrong. The armour at Ostagar is darker. Always bugged me.

Maybe they needed the dark armor just so that people know he's the "bad guy" <_<

I understand people calling him the Hero of the River Dane, but the war is over. Well but I guess for him, the war with Orlais still isn't over, so it's still a relevant totem to wear. . .

Whatever he was wearing, it was the same color; I'm pretty sure it was still the River Dane Armor. I do like the darker armor that he wears in some of the pics posted here, though --is that a mod?

The armor looks darker here. . .

. . .but then, it's dark out.

Would make sense, actually, if he planned to be involved in battle.

Traditionally, plate armor was made for a specific person.  So, while Loghain COULD wear plate armor made for a spcific Chevalier, it likely wouldn't fit him perfectly, not as well as armor made for him.  Ill fitting armor can be dangerous in a battle.

Obviously, the game ignores this, as any character with the right stats can wear any armor (and it's hysterical to see Oghren wearing Caillan's armor, IMO) but that's my take on it.

Just because a war is over doesn't mean that Loghain stops being a hero for it and it wasn't just a war over resources or to help some third party. This was driving out invaders who'd been there for eighty years. Even if everyone were totally cool with Orlais NOW that doesn't change the fact that if it weren't for Loghain and the other people in the rebellion then they'd still be an occupied territory. It's a symbol of their freedom.

That's in broad day light. Different armor.

Sorry, my "the war is over" was meant to refer to his wearing or not wearing the armor, not to how the people regard (or should regard) him.

You're right, I found another pic, also in gloom but still clearly different:

Am I the only one who thinks his Ostagar armor looks better? IT has more details on it. The River Dane armor, other than it's symbolic awesomeness, looks bland.

Still, I can't have him wear anything else.

Absolutely. The Ostagar armor also looks a bit easier to move in what with the chain in the joints and bendy places. Perhaps that's why he chooses to wear it when he's going to actually fight in it.

His Ostagar armor is similar to this, except this is darker

Image IPB

And there is his coronation black armor. Sounds like Loghain's got a large wardrobe.

Speaking of which, what do you think Loghain wears casually? Is he always in armor? The cutscenes make it look that way, but I don't think even he wears an armor 24/7.
I am curious how he'd look like with noble clothing, someone post a pic!

Hahaha no. Thanks, but no lol Pink doesn't suit him.

Hmmm, he loses much of his charisma in a noble outfit. Maybe it's just the color though that makes it seem that way. Still.

Anora picked it out, I guess. Or maybe Cailan.

His head looks strangely large when he wears noble clothing. Something I noticed while taking the screenshot

It's obviously Celene in a plot  to ruin his reputation.

It would explain why everyone's left him except for Dog...

Oh yea, the pink is lovely. I suppose no worse than the awesome yellow and orange that most of the nobles wear.

She suggested it to Cailan who really is that stupid/under her thumb that he thought it was a good idea.

I don't have access to the toolset right now, but I remembered that Loghain was wearing noble clothes in one of Charsen's wedding mods. Blue doesn't look too bad (though he might be wearing yellow pants...)
