Haters are indeed useful.

So eum, wasn't there a Loghain cloak mod project? How is that going?

lus you hit the same bump Loghain would have.

You use force on the Bannorn and they ALL fight you. Leading to another Civil war.

Oh? And how would they do that?

Wait for the annual Landsmeet, let them all gather inside for it. Close the gates to the palace and use the City Guard to kill every single last one of the Bannorn while sending the army to kill off their families then appoint people to replace them.

Great Purge 2.0 pretty much. Obviously Knight is right about communication ( which is one of the largest problems that I can think off ), but that's why I am thinking of using mages and having them taught shapeshifting. ( Messangers in the form of birds basically ).

As for using Stalin as a model....well he is pretty much one of the most brilliant politicians in my mind ( along with Ghenkis Khan, Hitler and Augustus ). I don't judge his policies based on morality ( though I do judge him as a person like that ).

Really, Loghain is a decent politician, but is dragged down by his morality.

Because the pic wasn't posted here, I won't steal it, but if you go look at Addai's Arrangement thread in the Fan Content forum, there is a pic of the work in progress. Image IPB

Hmm Addai, I don't think Cauthrien was Loghain's squire so to speak. I thought she was the commander of Maric's shield, so it would be odd for her to be dressing him in armor.

I'm not going to write a new squire for him.  She's his second, so that's where I'm taking it from.  Not that she doesn't have command of her own.

Besides, she would want the job.  :)

It just feels odd to have the commander of the elite unit in the country dressing up someone else in armor, but that's me.

Maybe we should post a Link to this thread at the IMDB DAO board. Liking Loghain there....let's say just this: that I've been asked whether I'd spare Hitler & Stalin too. Image IPBImage IPB

People who post there are mostly ignorant jerks. I also think you have to have a modicum of maturity to get Loghain.

That's a given. (About the maturity) Alistair is just "easier" to like, I suppose. It just pisses me off that they even doubt David Gaider's words when it comes to Ostagar, especially. Image IPBImage IPB

Eh, what?! Setting aside the whole idea of sparing Hitler and/or Stalin, then let me just say that Stalin was a person who killed TENS of millions! Who instituted a secret police that tortured people in ways the ****s couldn't even dream of, who murdered almost 10 million Ukranians in one single bloody winter , and that makes ME shudder whenever I think of it....the Holocaust that lasted for years is one thing, the Holodmor ( which had more casualties and lasted one single winter ) is on a completely different scale.

Hell, Hitler was a small kitten compared to the Lion that was Stalin. Hitler LEARNED from Stalin, and people compare Loghain even remotely to those two? WHAT?

As for sparing Stalin or Hitler, would depend on the context. I have no desire at all to seek to kill a man just on moral grounds. I ain't ****ing God. Obviously if there are pragmatic considerations, then I would do it but I can't say I am happy with it.

Choices like whether to spare Loghain or not, killing the Cultists or accepting the deal, choosing the Dwarf King etc. etc. leave a bitter taste in my mouth, as I don't feel I took the morally right choice either way. ( even if my said choice is something I feel very strongly about )

The IMBD boards are one scary place on the old interwebs.

Try being a Loghain fan on facebook.

God damn I wish I had saved the flaming I took on there, it was legendary.

Sigh...this is why gamers and the internet as a whole has a bad rep with the outside world ( so to speak ). It's hard to speak of maturity when the vast majority of people are the internet are not in any way mature.

This.

I was asked this because I said that I believed in redemption. The idea to compare Loghain to those two struck me as completely uncalled for. The old and boring "Regicide!" etc. blahblah aside, some posters there made excellent points. The people I have a problem with however are those who tear you apart for liking a character they hate. Seriously, it's been a while since I've seen such VENOM (As if they took it personally) towards a character in a PC game. Kind of like Snape in the HP series. But JKR kinda ruined the conflict since Book 7 revealed that good old Severus did it all for luff. Antagonists that one can sympathize with and, for ONCE, one I can actually save are the best. I'm still crying buckets at the end Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within because unlike DAO, killing is the only given option. Even though Gabriel regrets it. A lot.

That aside, I am on FB. We'll have to start a Pro Loghain group there. :P

I would join then.

I was talking to a friend about an image I posted and giving him advice on things.
I let slip I liked Loghain and was flamed.

Didnt help that I was egging them on, and watching all the people run around screaming calling me a bastard (I said that was Alistair's job), a monster (I started talking about the COOKIE monster), and a terrible person who dosent care about Alistair's feelings.

I did care that it hurt Alistair, just not enough to let him behead Loghain. I did let him leave though, considering it repayment for services rendered.

But yeah I was missing my internet eyebrows for a good while from that praticular flaming.

Oh, I don't know. By this point, I have to skip through most of his dialouge because he makes the same stupid jokes that, while mildly amusing the first time, get old really, really fast and his voice annoys me to no end. Loghain only being in the end of the game keeps his dialogue from getting stale that easily and I like his voice much better.

Yea, I am part of it too and my video is posted there.

I left the ME2 section for similar reasons. Mostly because someone made a TIM thread saying he was pragmatic and the very *first* comment was "Well Hitler was pragmatic too" *facepalm*

The toolset didn't want to play nice with the model, I had to redo it a few times but now it is working, except the textures. A pic before the last model's crash.:P
