If you don't move too fast I'll have a manip done in a while. B)

Or I'll just edit this post to add it!

EDIT: Ok, I quickly through this together, so it's a quite VERY rough in parts. Also, the moon was originally supposed to play a more prominent part. It got buried in the end... =]

I think you can expect it.

[10/30/2010 8:41:29 PM] Ayman: Hi, what's up?

[10/30/2010 8:41:47 PM] Costin Moroianu: Writting War of Shadows....well trying while I play New Vegas at the same time

[10/30/2010 8:41:49 PM] Costin Moroianu: you?

[10/30/2010 8:42:26 PM] Aymani: Eating, surfing youtube. Might continue reading Persephone's ff since I have nothing better to do

[10/30/2010 8:42:43 PM] Costin Moroianu: Mhh...personally I dislike Gush

[10/30/2010 8:42:51 PM] Costin Moroianu: It's a good read though

[10/30/2010 8:43:15 PM] Ayman: It felt a bit gushy yea. I suspect there will be more of it later?

[10/30/2010 8:44:05 PM] Costin Moroianu: Yeah, there is. A lot more actually :)

[10/30/2010 8:45:04 PM] Ayman: Persephone does seem to like Loghain a lot, so doesn't surprise me. Still, it seems to be written well and the only thing that made me eye roll were the purple eyes

Note: Ayman = Knight.

We actually got into a big discussion about reckless leaders and concluded that Maric can't even be considered reckless...when you compare to other leaders in our history that is ( Alexander the Great for instance ).

Aw, thanks! But the more I look at it the more I realize how rough it came out. And I should've used a better pic for Loghain, but that was the only decent one I had on my laptop.

Oh well. Hooray for 200 pages of Loghain!

Violet, not exactly purple. I chose my existing HNF, her eyes were violet. Should I have changed that?

Yes, *ahem* I'm afraid I may have wrought that mishegaas by trying to talk a Loghain-hater who had "accidentally" spared him in an early playthrough, into having that character take him through the gates with her --if not to get the Redeemer ending, then at least to take advantage of his awesomeness as a Warrior to help her character get to the Archdemon that much more easily. She was having none of it --no way was Loghain going to steal any of her glory. And we were off.

Actually, it was sort of a hit-and-run on my part. I lit the fuse and then left to go to a Halloween party, leaving Persephone, KoP and Costin to take most of the flak. Thanks, guys. ;)

Oh, and Happy 200! I hope to have a new pic to post soon --will be trying to convince Loghain to do the DR today (don't worry, though, I won't be taking or posting any screenshots of that, thanks. . .)

It's been very well mannered over there, actually.

And DR? Poor bugger. I never make him do that, he really doesn't want to.

If he really really doesn't want to, I won't force him. But there are several good reasons why it makes sense for him to do it. Also, it's kind of a crucial part of my Mage's character arc. For pretty much the whole game, she's been all about letting people do what they want to do, not judging them, and only interfering when what they want to do involves the repression of other people from being and doing what they want to do. Now she finds herself in a situation where she has strong feelings about what she wants someone else to do, and for the first time is compelled by those feelings to impose her will upon that person. It's an interesting conundrum for her --the last thing she ever thought she'd do would be to dissuade anyone, let alone Loghain, from an honorable intention, but then if she lets him do what he wants, he will die. And at the end of the day, she has to confess that she just doesn't want him to die.

No worries, Morwen, things are very civil and interesting over there. The Alistair crowd is a lovely group, I think. And not all of them are "RAH, off with his head!" types. Very few, in fact, exhibit that kind of behavior.

Ok, I am sorry if I am using the thread for my FF reviews, but I don't have an account in FF site and I am too lazy to get one lol.

Persephone, I just read chapter 2 and 3 and I must say...I think I have a crush on Rhiannon lol. I am really enjoying reading it and I especially liked her confrontation with Eamon. I wouldn't have been as harsh on him, but I see where she is coming from.

So yea, well done and I can't wait to read the rest :)

Thank you, KOP. I had fun writing that confrontation, given how much I want to confront Eamon in every single playthrough but never got the chance to do so. Yes, she was very harsh. But given what occured before that conversation, I believe her anger is understandable. There is a lot of self loathing within her, carefully guarded and pushed down, not even she knows it's there. Yet. She is unpredictable. Deciding to slaughter the elves in the Brecilian Forest still leaves her capable of the compassion required to aid the needy, even it that does nothing to further her agenda. There are decisions she makes to destroy the Blight and decisions she makes based on what is left of her heart. Those however are decisions that will have no consequences in the long run. Giving a silver to the kid in Lothering. Helping Zerlinda. Finding Bevin. A delicate balance, I think. :)

Indeed and "shades of Grey" is very appropriate.

And yes I can definitely understand why she'd be harsh on Eamon at that moment, it makes sense for her character.

To tell the truth, what I attempt to do is to write a character that's neither a heartless killing machine nor a simpering Princess Cous Cous stereotype. (I like Princess Cous Cous, but you know the type I'm referring to) I think that the traumata that the HN endures in his/her origin should have had more influence on the game. No one comes out of that unscathed to live happily ever after with Alistair. Anora's plea should influence the HN Warden more, I think, because they know what it means to see their father dying in front of them, unable to intervene. I have lost a sister and my mother to cancer. That is a pain that never leaves you entirely, the 2 minutes with Fergus at the end or killing Howe offer little consolation IMO. Also, the fact that Alistair gets to go on and on about Duncan while my HN only gets to tell him twice how her family was massacred (By the time you mention it again, he admits to having forgotten this...imagine his reaction had the Warden "forgotten" about HIS grief!) left a sour taste in my mouth. Why does he get to mourn and **** at my Warden if she is not sympathetic to his plight, yet he may "forget" about what the Warden went through? I'd have slapped him for this.

But back to Rhiannon and a word on Loghain (In my fic): They both watched unspeakable horrors involving their closest of kin. They ignore these wounds and find strength in serving a higher cause. Yet around each other, because of that shared experience, the walls begin to crumble. To the dismay and confusion of both. I hope this makes any sense at all.

Makes perfect sense and in some ways, it's similar to Arcturus and Morrigan falling in love, I think.

I agree with everything you said and I have argued in the past that Alistair, while he is not selfish, is self-centered in the sense that he has to relate everything to him, is not as thoughtful of the grief of others and as such can't see things objectively. And I do not believe he does that by malice or indifference. It's understandable, he's been rejected all his life as if he never mattered, so naturally he is going to be like that.
It annoyed me at first, then I understood it. Stil doesn't stop it from being annoying sometimes though.
