It required a certain adjustment of mental framework for me, too.  Even liking him in TST, I didn't think of him as a romantic lead until I started writing about it.  I recall saying I'd rather kiss a hurlock or Cammen.  LOL  Oh, the way such things will come back to bite you.

I don't know what I was thinking, though, really.  Dark, broody warrior type with tragic past- it's not such a stretch!

oh... would love that.

I don't like much the idea of the warden interfering so deeply into the Landsmeet as I see in the game, but since the game makes my warden all powerful and rightful, why not more options like executing Eamon/Alistair/Anora if I wish, or make myself queen/king alone or anyone else I see fit, why it forces me to make Loghain a warden and doesn't allow me to make all my followers wardens too?

loghain is quite different from the rest of your followers in that following you was not really his choice. i think the idea is that making him a warden (ensuring he will meet his end at darkspawn hands one way or another) makes him less likely to turn on you.

Well Esbatty, he's also a better choice for the, ah, mature lady. Alistair's half my age - I feel like a cradle snatcher (plus I'm too old to put up with his angst).

Being a warden wouldn't stop Loghain to turn on me if he wanted too, the same way Leliana and Wynne do turn on me when I taint the urn of ashes. Yes, Loghain is quite different, he is the only follower that swears to follow you:

Loghain: "All of this can rightly be called my fault. Whether or not you can do better remains to be seen. But if you can make this the end, Warden, I will follow you. I swear it."

I don't know, perhaps I'm too biased, but I think once the duel is over and he yields, he would follow you if it was asked of him without the need to turn him into a warden.
