Knight: I admit, it's hard for me to judge a game based on storyline alone, since I judge em based ON all the elements combined ( which is why ME2> Dragon Age for me, since DA:O is buggy as hell and laggy and **** in terms of combat and why SC2 beats the living hell out of SC 1 in terms of singleplayer ).

A game can have an awesome story like say, War and Peace does for all I care. If it has **** gameplay and hell load of bugs I will consider it a bad game.

I did not say SC1 was better than SC2.
I said the writing, story and characters of SC1 are better, imo and I put a great emphasis on story.

But in terms of gameplay, I think SC2 is much much better and I am looking forward to the Legacy of the Void campaign.

Why is Shepard on that list? Dull as rocks.

Ok to point this back at Loghain:

What do you think he would decide to do in Awakening?

The only things I know that he would do are:

Recruit Sigrun, and Side with Justice.

The rest I am really iffy on.

Master Chief being it does not make me happy though. Same goes for that kid from Psychonauts.

I am surprised they would include Captain Price from Call of Duty.

Oh yes, because the only kinds of games that attract mature and intellectual players are RPGs ( and maybe RTS's ).  Is that what you are saying or that those specific cases are not worthy to be there? If it's the latter then I will simply state that the guys on gameinformers have a different opinion then you ( and Giggles ) and just leave it there. If it's the former then well...( not to you, but in general though I get the feeling you also think the same way ).

There are a lot of a immature players for each individual genre: RTS, FPS, RPG you name it. ( Check these forums a few months ago when they were active and you will see what I am saying ). There are people who like FPS's and hate RPGs, are they idiots or immature just because of that? Because if you think they are then I would say it's a load of BS.

So yes, that's me ranting. But I am very frustrated with some people who think FPS players ( for instance ) are somehow idiots by default.

Back to Loghain. I think will just quote Patton here. ""If a man does his best, what else is there?"
- General George S. Patton"
Loghain most certainly did what was best in his mind for his country, even though he could have done it better.

Wow, talk about misinterpreting my post.

I LOVE shooters and think that many of them can offer an excellent mature experience. Call of Duty 4 is one of my favorite games ever and I actually like that Captain Price was included. I surely didn't expect it though.

And yes, I know that FPS games attract a lot of immature players but I just ignore them when I'm playing online (which isn't that frequently anyway).

As for Master Chief, eh.

I woulds say that Freeman is interesting because of the characters that surround him, not so much himself.

*thinks of something Loghain related*

Since the whole Maric sword thing was mentioned, I was going to give it to Loghain on my last run but Alistair took it with him at the Landsmeet... <_<

If I'm getting rid of Alistair (exiling) then I make sure he goes to the Landsmeet in minimal gear. If he's executed, the gear ends up in a chest at Eamon's estate. If he's marrying Anora but left party, you can still get his hear off him back at Eamon's estate also.

The first time I spared Loghain, Alistair walked off with:

The Keening Blade (Grandmaster- Silverite, Lightning, and Frost)

The entire set of the Juggernaut Plate

The Harvest Festival Ring

and the best DLC accessories I had for tanks.

I was so angry that I lost all that stuff.

I know, it was my fault for not thinking ahead. Although for the sake of RP it was good since it would've been metagaming otherwise.

Still, from now on he only gets Blightblood (which I don't like that much) or another random sword.

Heh, there are a few characters in BGII (I'm looking at you, Viconia!) who will walk off with your best gear if they leave. Hence I'm always careful.

Heh yeah, I forgot to strip Alistair on this game too, and he made off with a lot of fine warrior jewelry.  Oh well, it was just for goofing off and screenshots anyway.  And I did rob him of his Cousland queen and his thirst for justice, so I think he got the raw deal all in all.  Image IPB

Alistair:  Justice for Duncan!
Me:  But, the screenies, Alistair!  The screenies!

 This sounds so funny.

I'm using so much modded stuff that I really couldn't care less what he's taking with him. It's most likely the best stuff I have, like the Key to the City and Livegiver. Loghain can have Maric's sword and keep his River Dane armour - as well as his crappy skills (abusing the power of killallhostiles if necessary).

I felt similarly when I tried to get Loghain screenshots in Dahlia's wedding mod. I had to execute Loghain and morph Loghain onto Alistair. Image IPB So much abuse for screenshots!

I used to hate watching the cutscenes where Alistair freaks out and leaves, but now I can watch that pretty easily and have a really hard time watching Loghain be executed. Image IPB

I dont have a hard time doing anything in Dragon Age anymore really.

Except for leaving Shianni behind, which I did for testing purposes. I think I threw up a little reading some of the lines after the fact.

Urghh.  I'm not really qualified since I haven't played much, but Mass Effect videos on YouTube put me in stupor.  Except for the romance ones which are completely cringe-worthy.  And I could not take femShep's butch voice.  Image IPB

Now you're making me post another screenshot to stay on topic.

BTW I love Loghain's reaction when he greets Riordan in Redcliffe.  "Oh.  It's you again."  That made me LOL.  Such a "Seinfeld greets Newman" deadpan delivery.

I hate watching the Loghain death scene, it's brutal. Ugh. I had to do that when I was going for my warden commander achievement and it made me hate the character I'd made to the extent I was glad the cow didn't get a happy ending. I deleted her anyway.

I've killed Loghain twice. Once my first game for Queen Cousland purposes and then the second time for Warden-Commander/what's it like if Alistiar isn't pissed at you at the coronation purposes (saved right before the DR). The second time wasn't so bad, especially as it wasn't canon for that character, but the first time...I mean, it's one thing if I'm going to kill him but killing him and deposing the daughter he did all of this partly to protect? It was horrible. I wonder who was more confused, Alistair or Loghain. Probably Loghain, thinking the screenies were some sort of Orlesian thing.

I assume you switched the morph until the very last moment. Otherwise watching "King Loghain" with Alistair's voice would've been worthy of capturing with Fraps! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/sideways.png[/smilie]

Its one thing to kill a person but to decapitate them in front of their only child.... thats just nasty.

Although I do give Anora props for being able to still function after that. I may argue with my dad a lot and sometimes disagree with him, but I really doubt I would be able to operate after getting splattered in his blood.

Getting Loghain to do Alistair's 'thanks for saving the Arl's family' speech made me wish I played on the PC (among other reasons...)

Getting the pissed version of that speech might also be worth of capturing.
