Both of those are really cute. Egad, what would Loghain say if he saw himself chibi'ed.

What is this Chibi?

Some dirty Orlesian plot like fanfiction.

If you are expecting some particular insight into this... orlesian chibi thing, I'm afraid you will be disappointed. It is just utterly nonsense and waste of time.

Time to get rid of this....horror. Time for some Geralt of Rivia.

Now this is Yavin.....

The Witcher has terrible VO.

I cant stand listening to Geralt since he sounds like some high school kid trying to be macho.

Story is not that bad though.

Indeed!  We must attend to reality.

I just realized that Mary Kirby wrote both Sten and Loghain.  IOW, she spent the entire DA development time writing broody, mysterious men with a darker side.  I want to be her when I grow up.

Re The Witcher, I finished it last night.  Dunno if you guys have finished a game where you sided with the Scoia'tel, but by the end they basically make it look like the Order were the real bad guys and instigated it all.  i suspect that the story is set up so that no matter who you side with, they turn out to be scumbags.  I didn't like having to fight ol' Siegfried, though.   A goofy sort, but he seemed like a decent guy.  Yaevinn...  eee, just look at his VA.  He was bound to be too sexy.

Giggles: Well he is badass. I just love his way of talking. Then again I AM an European ( as are the guys who made the game ), so it's different for me.

Personally I view the WItcher as the best RPG I ever played in all aspects: VO, Gameplay, Bugs ( or lack of em ), balance, challenge etc. Alpha Protocol is second, but nowhere near as close.

Geralt cant dethrone Kratos (GoW) though in terms of bad VO.

Mostly I think my issue is, that people's faces dont really move that much or express any emotion. Added to that some of them really dont have their lips synced to their lines.

Dragon Age gets that done better.

Yes, the Grandmaster did set it all up ( I played with both order and Scoia'Tel and I have a save for Witcher 2 with Shanni romanced and sided with Order and best gear in game on hard difficulty if you want for Witcher 2 ).

Despite that fact. I have quite a lot of sympathy for the Grandmaster. He ( like Loghain ) was doing what he believed was right for his people, and I do firmly believe Sieghfried is someone who will uphold the original ideals of the Order ( an order of Knights pledged to protect innocents ).

I simply cannot sympathize with the Elves, and with all due respect could you STOP mentioning how a character is sexy in argument? ( rant on my part, but it does get me annoyed quite a bit ). They are terrorists and regardless of what the Grandmaster did to instigate the revolt it does not change the fact the elves very much want all humans everywhere dead. Their goals are wrong, their methods are simply the same terrorists use today  and while I could care less about morality, I do find such methods a complete and utter show of stupidity. The epilogue if you side with them says that nothing changes for the elves except they get more followers for their acts of terror proves just how ineffective such methods are.

This witcher scenario sounds interesting. From what I read, I'd most probably side against the elves. But I don't know the specifics and implications.

Having Al Samad terrorists at your side in Alpha Protocol was very beneficial. So if those elves can provide something similar, then I might consider it.

The English VO cannot be perfectly synched, as the game was not originally made in English.

I adore The Witcher. And Geralt Of Rivia's one of the best characters ever.

You get the same benefits from either siding with Order or Elves, no difference in terms of advantages.

The only real difference ( for elves, order, and neutral side ) is that in a quest for an epic set of armor each side gives you different bonuses. The Elves give you endurance on your armor while the Order gives you health, while the neutral side gives you both but in lesser amounts ( though by the time I got it I really could care less about endurance while health was something that I did care for).

Well see, that's the difference, I'm not arguing and not interested in arguing.  I'm discussing the game in an offhand fashion (as it is off topic, after all).  I'm not even really talking to you per se.  So just ignore it, as I'll choose to ignore your rants.

Well, KOP, this depends on Mod categories you are interested in.

Dialogue patches? Armor? Weapons? Additional quests? Tweaks?

If you get the dreaded "can't connect to database" error once you run the toolset, let me know. It's a bit of a pain to fix (and I ALWAYS get it when I install the damn thing).

Ok, I'm going to link you first to this page, where some fixes are suggested:

http://social.biowar...to_the_database

However, none of that worked for me and I had to use this fix to solve the issue:

This ain't Alpha Protocol I am afraid. You are just a Witcher, a mercenary.
