Working on Chapter 6 of my Loghain-centric fanfic currently... though I have now reached my Drunken Saturation Point for the night, so work will cease and I shall go eat some more steamed oysters and refill my drinking glass.

Chapter 5 is done with the beta process and will go up next Friday or Saturday.

And that's about all the Loghain goodness I have tonight. Cheers again for Loghain... I shall go raise my glass to ye, good ser!

Yea, imagine him becoming Warden commander of Orlais, then suddenly unvailing a plot from the First Warden, killing him and taking his place.

Maybe then, would I start really liking the Wardens

Wouldn't work. One thing is to have people dissatisfied with the current ruling body another matter is to get to fight on your side during a rebellion. While we judge the Chevaliers as highly immortal I do not think the commoners of Orlais do the same.

What does that woman who was to get raped in Denerim say? That they are highly respected, and I personally doubt that those of them that actually do abuse their power to force themselves upon women are anything more then a minority.

And even if they were a majority, you can be quite surprised at how much **** people can take before taking action ( as a Romanian I know this too well ).

I think that if it really were considered abusing their power in Orlais then the girl in the market would have said something like 'No one will do anything to a chevalier' instead of 'It is their right.' They are legally allowed to rape any commoner than they choose. I really doubt that if they've made it a legal right that the chevaliers have that it's going to just be a minority. The girl and her brother didn't leave because of the attempted rape, they left because he defended her and they had to flee for their lives. I think the commoners might be proud of the chevaliers but appreciate them a lot less once they set their eyes on them.

I finally finished ME2 Overlord. Aside from Dr. Archer having Loghain's VO actor.... Did anyone else get Loghain flashes during the end? All that stuff about making decisions no one wants to make etc.??? It was downright CREEPY! And for once, it did not work. Grissom Academy all the way!

Overlord has one of the best emotionally charged ME2 moments. That is some scary sh*t going on - and the poor kid was so innocent. I still demand Dragon Effect: At The Speed of Blight - a true Dragon Age/Mass Effect crossover game. Warden-Commander Shepard must recruit a new set of Grey Wardens to fight the coming Arch-Levianthan of Dis! Standing in his way is Rogue Spectre Loghain Mac Saren!

Oh yes, because the only thing that's keeping a lot of men from raping women is the fear of law. It's one thing when you talk about raping women of a country you invaded, another when you talk about raping women from your own country.

I thought it's a bit like the droit de seigneur, it didn't acutally exist but people believe it did nonetheless.

"No one will do anything" could be very well interpreted as "it  is their right" by the common folk, it's not a modern society where people are aware of their rights or know how to defend them.

Depends. If they believe that peasants or serfs are the scum of the earth, then it doesn't matter if they are from the same country. We don't know much about Orlais to say for sure.

But yes, I do not think that Chevaliers rape whenever they want to and I do not think it's a common occurence. But, they have the right to do so and they have the backing of the law, so that's enough to dislike the system.

Re the chevaliers, I imagine it is like with slavery.  Slavery doesn't exist in Orlais, so says Leliana, and yet if noblemen kidnap an elf here or there and make her a sex slave (e.g. Fiona), everyone looks the other way.  I can't imagine it's too widespread or you'd have massive civil unrest, and we don't hear about that from Orlais.

In that ginormous Stolen Throne thread, Gaider brought up a couple times that he was fascinated by Orlais and thought there should be more told about it, so I wouldn't be surprised if we do get a closer look at it and at Celene in some form.  Can't say I'm too enthused about that- I'd much rather see more on Tevinter, Nevarra, Rivain, Antiva, the Qunari... just about anywhere else.  But I don't much like the "Amadeus" sort of Renaissance vibe from Orlais, not my thing.  Give me barbarians over that.

I was thinking how nice it would be if the Bioware Store offered nice-quality maps of Thedas/Ferelden/etc. Loghain's not the only one who likes a nice map.

Oh I just meant loitering on the forums in general.  I will get around to morphing a Loghainistair and taking some kissy screenshots with fake-Ellie eventually.  Just not playing DAO at all atm.

I suppose because I have nothing better to do, but this is the only thread I usually check besides the builders threads.

And talking about screenies, that theseus texture is really nice, so I changed its color to match Loghain's skin tone better, and changed NB model to allow some *cough* animations... on the male model's bits. Do the girls approve?
