The thing about the Wyvern is that it seems kind of unique when compared to the other symbols. Could it be something from the Tevinter era? Was Gwaren known to be a wyvern's nest? I don't know. I still think Loghain's best symbol would have been a wolf. In fact, if we play a game of "character reminds you of what animal", I would say wolf for Loghain (cat for Morrigan
RE Hannibal. The way he crossed the Alps and the Rhone river was pretty darn impressive though. Shows you how the Carthaginians were master engineers. Also, his family name "Barca" means lighting in Punic (similar to the Arabic word Barc, both being Semitic languages), which I think is appropriate.
Hannibal still should have at least had some slaves knit sweaters for the elephants. I mean, really! Planning!
I think that dragon that Loghain and Rowan saw was indeed "Andraste" who gave the age it's name, as well as laid waste to large parts of the Orlesian countryside.
Which is why I find killing it a major dilema. On one hand, she is a symbol of Ferelden's fight and independance against Orlais. Plus, she can eat pilgrims that come to see the ashes. And she is a lovely member of a highly endangered species.
On the other hand, all that damned loot plus dragon scales is just too damned awesome to pass up....
I did, in one playthrough, save the dragon until after Landsmeet where I spared Loghain, and took him along to kill the dragon. He seemed pretty apathetic about the whople thing, so who knows.
