Well we all thought Sten would be hard work but he was easily won over with kittens and cookies.
Loghain is human. The only creatures immune to kitteh-control are darkspawn, abominations, and Harrowmont fans.
It's a very good litmus test for figuring out who's who in game.

That alone would be enough to pick Bhelen, even in playthroughs were I don't want to because its OOC.
News of the Hour: Lord Harrowmont seen kicking kittens in the street! Proof He is really a darkspawn in disguise! Suppor Bhelen and have all closet darkspawn outed!

Spartas - you only get that if you import a character who has recruited Loghain and done the DR. So essentially he has to survive Origins to show up in Awakening. Then he'll show up at Vigil's Keep during the game.
Does anyone have any idea what he'll be doing at the city of Montsimmard? Loghain seems at peace when he's speaking with the Warden at Vigil's Keep, but besides the First Warden isolating him from Ferelden, I have been wondering what he'll be doing when he arrives at Orlais. Are they planning on utilizing his knowledge and skill as a general, or is he simply going to be relegated to small tasks? How the Warden-Commander of Orlais will interact with him, how the other Orlesians will respond to the news that Loghain is coming to their nation, and how the other Orlesian Grey Wardens would react to him, considering what transpired in DA:O, not to mention his role in the rebellion.

There are still darkspawn around- the epilogue mentions that bands of darkspawn are still seen in Orlais. Otherwise I imagine he would be put to training recruits.LobselVith8 wrote...

Leliana says people saw Maric in a romantic light. The occupation of Ferelden wasn't entirely popular in Orlais, either, especially as it dragged on. Though I imagine there could be some resentment towards him among chevaliers.

I think that Loghain will over throw Orlais and then hitch all the chevaliers to plows and make them work in the fields while all the peasants get to point and laugh.

Sounds good to me! Will he make them wear cowbells? Cuz we need MOAR COWBELL, BABY!

What is this "more cowbell" thing I keep hearing? I'm English - I don't get it.
It was from a skit on Saturday Night Live, when Christopher Walken was a guest.

(husband)
I suspect he will be having lots of these kinds of discussions with young Orlesians about why they need to join up.

But I will finish The Arrangement. I will, I will. I'm actually trying to get far enough in Awakening to get a Loghain cameo. But I keep being pulled away to play Fallout. LOL

I'm back playing Oblivion again (as I mentioned previously - my original install got borked somehow and became unplayable but as I had to reinstall Windows before Christmas I thought I'd give it another try. Damn but it's compulsive!) but FNV is next. I may...just may finish off my Origins current character but in truth, I've seen everything and done everything in that game and I'm kinda bored now.
I am, of course, anxiously awaiting further installments of your fic, so you better had finish! Heh.

Just get the game and play it. If you like it you like it if you don't you don't, that's coming from a gaming experience of over 15 years.

I need to be writing, too, but I'm so unmotivated, mainly because I'm bummed about DA2 and kind of sick of the fandom as a result. *stares at half-finished chapter woefully*
What in particular bums you out about it?
I peek over in the DA2 forums to mainly see any updates or further light being shed on the game. Though I'm not terribly excited about it, its mostly because they have stuck to announcing things I don't care about, or the forums are focused on things I feel are of secondary consideration (Romances, god-baby, kewl shinies, ect).

People do not like it when you question the direction of DA2 or dare to suggest that some things in Origins did not need change. Mostly I read the dev quotes and look at the new updates.

As do I. I am waiting, though, for more information on the actual story itself, as well as updates to the DA universe, which seem to be slow in coming. What has been hyped and promoted does not interest me that much, but I'm hoping they are simply hyping the things that will impress a wider market, but that the game itself will be substantial and engaging enough on its own.
the things they hype seemed to appeal to the "dumbed down" audience and wider market, but I hope the overall game will not reflect this.
I agree there were many things in origins that didn't need changing. About the only things I felt could have used some refinement:
Character models/appearance factors
Armor and weapon models
class balance (warriors just sucked too much. When rogues are lawling inflicting massive critical hits before even a base level warrior talent is fully executed, something's wrong)
More ingame consquence/reflection of class/talent choices. Like, blood mage.
Increased companion reactions to different scenarios.
