I would not mind an update to most things in Dragon Age.

Minus a charachter VO I dont mind most things I have seen.

I do. Dragon Age, in many ways, was fine as is. Good setting, good system, good mix and balance regarding race. In fact, most of the setting factors really didn;t need change, just cosmetic changes, mainly, and some minor mechanical tweaks.

Most things I have seen changed were in my opinion, unecessary, even undesirable.

Well, you can of course see the cameo on YouTube...but you know that and I'm sure you want to experience it first-hand.
I'm back playing Oblivion again (as I mentioned previously - my original install got borked somehow and became unplayable but as I had to reinstall Windows before Christmas I thought I'd give it another try. Damn but it's compulsive!) but FNV is next. I may...just may finish off my Origins current character but in truth, I've seen everything and done everything in that game and I'm kinda bored now.
I am, of course, anxiously awaiting further installments of your fic, so you better had finish! Heh.

Actually I looked and only saw a son-in-law cameo, not the "leadership looks good on you" one.  There probably is one somewhere but I decided just to play it with Not-Ellie and get that clip myself.

I'd like to go back and finish my Lady Aeducan game but I'm so burned out on Origins I usually fire up a save and quit within a minute or two.  Oblivion and Fallout definitely are mind-numbingly addictive!

I'll finish TA, no worries.  The story still motivates me, I still spend inordinate amounts of time thinking about it, but some chapters come more slowly than others and this is going to be one I guess.  As far as DA2, I don't want to get the thread locked- the devs are clamping down on complaint threads in DA2 boards even- so I'll just say I don't like the direction the franchise took as of Awakening and leave it at that.  I'll still play it, though I'm not sure if we'll get it at release or wait for the price to drop.

Okay.

Going through my old Fraps files I was cleaning out some stuff and deleting other things and guess what I found:

Puppy face Loghain:

I have since got rid of the mod that fixed the dark circles under Loghain's eyes.

D'aww.

I never did use that mod. I'll take the old bugger, eye bags and all.

I haven't been playing DA in a while, but husband went back to it and started whining about me taking off this or that armor mod and it left Leliana naked (like that really put him out <_<).  Then he said, "and I'm not even going to get into Alistair looking like Loghain."  Oops!  Forgot to take out alschemid's morph.

So just for kicks I started an Awakening game and got some shots in Vigil's Keep of King Loghain.

I just don't like a lot of the changes and don't feel like it's the same game. Sort of like how I kept hoping the DLCs would feel like more of the same, but with each successive one I got more disillusioned. I don't get a good vibe.

But I will finish The Arrangement. I will, I will. I'm actually trying to get far enough in Awakening to get a Loghain cameo. But I keep being pulled away to play Fallout. LOL

(Husband)

I've got a recent game save thats 4-5 slots away from the most recent that right before talking to Loghain with my mage.   I've never seen him so happy.

He looks pretty good in that armour.

So if Alistair looks like Loghain, then does Loghain still look like Loghain? Because you need to get screenies of a Loghain vs Loghain confrontation and Landsmeet.

I still think having everyone but Alistair at the landsmeet be replaced with Loghain at the Landsmeet would be awesome.

Alistair would have to be naked. That would be a much better nightmare than he had in the Fade.

Well that's what River Dane armor is, no?

It's just the best looking set I had in my inventory as of the save I pulled at the Landsmeet door.  It's actually an arcane warrior set called Atonement, as is the greatsword he's using.

Loghain is sexy with a greatsword, I must say.  Image IPB

Loghain wearing chevalier armor is like a hunter wearing the skin of an animal he killed himself.

Quick question: Who did Loghain end up marrying and what was her name?

His wife was called Celia and apparently she was a cabinet maker's daughter.

After playing the games and reading, "The Stolen Throne" and "The Calling," I must admit that I believe Teyrn Loghain Mac Tir to be the deepest character with the richest back story in the Dragon Age Universe. There wouldn't be much of a story without him.

When we’re introduced to Loghain, he was rescuing then Prince Maric after his mother, The Rebel Queen of Ferelden, was betrayed and murdered. Loghain’s father charged him with keeping Maric safe shortly before he was killed while creating a diversion for Maric's escape from the same Orlesian conspirators that killed his mother. His courage became evident early on when goading an Orlesian force to follow him on a sure suicide mission that probably saved Ferelden. We find out in the games that Loghain is a tragic hero, as his own weaknesses and shortsighted ambitions lead to the death of King Cailin and many Grey Wardens to begin DA:O. I decided to let Loghain live as a Warden at the conclusion of Origins and was happy to see him in service as I played Awakening. From a commoner to near King, an outlaw to a Grey Warden, there's certainly a lot to like about Teyrn Loghain.

By the way, his daughter is my new queen of Ferelden. What do you think?

Only a short comment. The way Loghain is portrayed reminds me completely of Macbeth.

I made Anora queen on my first playthrough because she'd been queen for five years. I did not account Alistair's bloodline... :S

Macbeth was a man being pushed to extremes by his overly ambitious wife (and, coincidentally, murder the king who just happened to be called Duncan). Are you saying that Loghain was pushed by his daughter (Anora)?

I'm just trying to work out your basis for comparison.

No I dont see the Macbeth comparison really unless you look at the results.

Well, from a very loose comparison, their pursuit of power led each of them to commit increasingly ruthless crimes that ended in their ultimate demise.  Each were haunted by the decisions they felt they had to make... I can see a vague similarity, but not in their intentions.

I still think Loghain is much more like Col. Jessup from 'A Few Good Men.'  =P
