Hey, Loghain looks hawt in this bar of non-LIs!

The shades are awesome.  LOL

Btw, I'm in need of a beta tester for a kissing Loghain mod, link here. Thanks

D'awww!!!   It's lovely just for the added sound files- I've never heard those.  Only problem was that I had to have ejoslin's Loghain Friendly in to get him to Friendly, then uninstall and install yours.  It would be great if they could be combined somehow.

I had an awesome screeny of the Orgasmitron throwing Cleansing brilliance on a cluster of TEC ships  I also had a screenie of my TEC Kol class flagship the Bhelenator getting mobbed by Vasari ships, and wasting them all with disturbing ease. (Finest Hour has to be one of my favorite capital ship abilities, I lol'd everytime the Loghain would get mobbed, and the only energy bar that dropped for the whole 7 minute siege was the antimatter bar.). Rail gun is pretty evil, too.

I also built a Marza dreadnaught named The Loghain that survived the end of the game at level 10 as well. Left alot of radioactive messes in it's wake, nuked several planets back into the stone age, and got me rather hot and bothered as a result. Hence, the name.

That#'s probably my favorite thing about the TEC: Nukes.:wub::wub:

Dammn....I have added the friendly fix, as soon as he says  "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at your success; you beat me. Perhaps you can do this, after all." a flag is set to make him friendly, you just need get enough approval (70% - I think) after that. But I will check it all again...

aww.. the sound files... some are pieces of different sentences glued together, others are sound files we don't hear much in game... ;)

Excellent.
I once named one of my Kol Battleships, the River Dain.
Another, the Mac Tir.

And I named one of my TEC argonev starbases (with production and trade facilities) Xanatos.
Also, I named all starbases in that particular game after Roman Emperors, with the exception of Xanatos.

Awesome names for an awesome ship. I think the Kol is probably my favorite TEC capital ship.

In my Advent game, I named one of my Capital ships (I think it was Revelation class) Morrigan, because of the provoke hysteria ability. Damn, it's creepy as hell to hear and see up close!

I also named a desert planet Zevran, a safely tucked away terran planet Alistair, and it's protecting starbase Teagan.

I even named an asteroid Isolde, because it was the most frequently bombed and fought over planet in the game due to strategic signifigance (it had a short phase line to the star it orbited, plus 4 phase lines, two of them moderate in length, leading to very hotly contested planets). I am considering in a future playthrough taking a hotspot planet over long enough to name it Cammen, then abandon it, then wait until someone else takes it over and bomb it back into the stone age. Or mob it with pirate fleets. And many nukes! Repeat as necessary.

Would be nice to be able to name enemy capital ships, for that extra special feeling from destroying vessels named The Harrowmont, The Cailan, The Ceorlic, The Jory, ect. I wonder if someone made a mod for that?:o

LOL I never named a capital ship Morrigan. Hmm. Maybe I'd name my capital planet that. Also Urthemiel, sounds like an advent name. When I start an Advent game, I'll be sure to do that. I could also name ships after Shale and Sten. A planet called Shale with a Starbase defending it called Sten, awww

I wanted to name something Arcturus, but it's too badass. I generally name my TEC flagship (Sova carrier) the Hyperion.

Ha! I've named a planet Hyperion before. I'm pretty mixed in how I name things, whatever sounds good at the moment goes. Though sometimes, the default names are pretty bad ass, like Maledictus for Advent capital ships.

I've named a planet Tevinter, and a volcanic one Orzammar, as well as placenames from myths and fantasy settings. I usually end up with so many planets and starbases (because I play until everyone else is exterminated) that I come up with all sorts of names. I even named a starbase Schmooples after lurking in the Leliana thread.

I will pribably name my capital planet Tevinter when I do my big advent playthrough, which I'm getting ready to create in the next couple of days. Right now I'm finishing a vasari playthrough in which I've virtually won, but am enjoying too much paying the remaining TEC and Advent factions to stay at each others throats, while funding overwhelming pirate raids on both.  I've already snuck four planets out from under their noses, while being best buds with both. And I've already wiped out one powerful advent faction, so I'm feelin...........SUPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I'll name something Skadi too ;)

Yea the game does make you feel epic at the end. So much so that sometimes, I just don't want to fight anymore. Just revel in my inevitable victory by watching the others scatter. Once, there was a faction that got reduced to one planet only. I decided to be nice, sent my fleet there to defend them, build a starbase as well. And then I told one of my allies to take the planet next to it and block off access. And so I made it my purpose to protect this planet (and of ocurse I gave the starbase there trade facilities. Help doesn't come from free). The planet's name was "utopia" which makes it sad lol

So long as it's something that has your enemies quaking in their boots, crapping their pants, and cowering in awe and terror, I shall be pleased. Extra points if it's eqipped with nukes.

Lol! Yeah, I've had some ironic planet names pop up on planets (like an ice world named Vulcan,  or a desert planet named Eden).

I have done the same. In this playthrough, the TEC faction was hemmed in to three planets because two big pirate bases, and couldn't get out. So I sent suicide squads to escort my envoys to the planets, loaded em with shinies and credits, and sent fleets to wipe out the pirate bases, as well as suckered an ally to go forward on one for me. I set up star bases to protect, offer them my best pacts, paid pirates to beat the crap out of competitors in the system, including and especially allies, and chased away competitors to nearby planets, so that the weak TEC fleet could get through and build up some backbone.

My patience has been rewarded. They have offered by the supply pact (the whole reason I didn't wipe them out to begin with) and now I have my fleet at unholy levels. My other ally, the remaining Advent faction, I had to fund obscene pirate raids on their home and stolen planets, and even destroyed their home planet, to get them to back off the TEC system. So now they are even: the Tec has completely colonized it's very small system (minus my helper's fee of a volcanic planet that contains a nifty artifact, that is heavily fortfied), but has fewer planets, where as the Advent has a bigger system and more colonizable planets, but is constantly losing them and regaining them only to lose them again to pirate raids (their system has four friggin pirate bases armed to the teeth).

And Here I am, supreme Vasari overlord, mediating and funding the conflict in the middle, safe from attack because these human suckers both love me to bits, racking up the bling and clicking send on 30,000 credit pirate attacks without a second thought, cuz I got a cool 2 mil in the bank anyway, sending colonizers to stand by when a planet becomes free, and claim it while both allied fleets are blowing each other to bits in my new found gravity well.  Rubbing my hands all the while as I prop up this never ending conflict, whitling away at the competition with no loss of blood on my part, until only my empire remains.

This is total greeting card material in the works, I'm telling ya.

Are you playing with max players? It becomes much more epic when there are 8 factions duking it out. The way you can manipulate all of them is awesome. Too bad you can't give specific missions to allies to hit another ally, you can just raise bounties or tell pirates to do it.

I can't wait for another expansion or a sequel.

No, this one was 5 players. I think one of the factions got wiped out early on before I could make diplomatic contact with it via envoys and such. I plan to go max in the future, though. For now, I'm discovering new and intesresting combos of ships, weapons, and abilities. My next playthrough will have 6.

I'm going to make a huge map of it. It's not gonna be a game, but a project.

Yeah I know, that's how I like them. Days of playing, planning, and plotting. At a couple hours a day of playtime, weeks of progress. I like games that require patience.

Yea same. My only problem is that the supply limit becomes low (without a supply pact).

I usually divide my fleets into 3. One main fleet. A defense fleet and an expeditionary fleet. Problem is, that's limiting when you have several star systems that you want to defend. Granted, starbases alleviate the problem, but still, they can be outgunned.

Yeah, but by the time my forces leave a planet, the whole place is heavily fortified, and given this means your allies and enemies all has scattered priorities as well, it need not be so tricky. But I do the same with my forces, usualling leaving a heavy contingent of ships at my home star and taking other out to kick ass and take over planets.

Or manipulate and assist others to do it for me. :)

On the maximum difficulty, the AI can take on defenses adequately (with siege cruisers, they can take on starbases). Defenses are mostly only useful in stalling them.

It's not tricky, I manage. But it's slightly annoying and that's why I am adamant about having a TEC ally.

Even on lower difficulties planet defenses are pretty much only a stall for a full on invasion fleet. But stalling is all I intend to really do. Stalling them long enough

And yeah, the TEC is number one alliance I gun for in most games. That supply pact is probably the best pact offering of any of them, because it makes fleet movements alot more efficient and effective, since you can pretty much replicate your main fleet.

I got him up to 70ish approval and he was still set to "Warm" not "Friendly."  I think so anyway.  I'll try again later.
