I think it has just been determined that all future discussions regarding the issue will be nothing more than running around in circles (something I should have realised a long time ago), as we can't even agree tto use the epilogue as evidence and basis of argument.
Is it because there is no mention of a Golden Age in any epilogue other than a Cousland / Anora one., per chance?

A very unnecessary tension, that is off-topic to boot.
Anyways, funny Loghain stuff.
I still think this : "You'll have to forgive me if I shut my eyes and think of my dead wife."
Is one of his funniest quotes lol
And one of my favorite Loghain banters is with dog.
Really manages to show the person that is underneath all that cold, almost depressed like demeanour.

I simply don't take them seriously for my games. Should I really contemplate that if my Dalish blood mage becomes Alistair's chancellor that they are going to have as rosy and peaceful a reign as if my Andrastian spirit healer or even my Cousland becomes chancellor?
It's why I don't rage about Alistair endings the way some do, such as him going off with a mistress but not with a queen or whatever. BW gets the interns to write these things.

Oh man, Loghain's banters with Dog are what really made me love Loghain. I know there are plenty of other reasons, but being the animal lover that I am, listening to Loghain remember about his childhood friend and being so nice to my doggy in the process, really won me over.
Loghain: She passed away after a week. It was as though she held on long enough to come home to us. I held her head in my lap, and I believe she died happy
Dog: (Sad whine)

Dog: (Excited huffing)
Loghain: I had a mabari once. Adalla--that was her name. We found her in the wood shed one night. She was still a pup then.
Loghain: We never figured out where she came from. My mother called her a gift from the Maker. And she was... she really was.
Loghain: She was beautiful; she had a lovely chestnut brown coat, and the most intelligent, understanding eyes. You would have liked her.
Dog: (He wags his tail.)
Loghain: We grew up together. She never left my side, not once. Ten years we had her, before she was taken away...
Dog: (He ****s his head and looks curiously at Loghain.)
Loghain: Another time perhaps. Finish your snack.
---
Dog: (Dog sniffs the air curiously.)
Loghain: Oh, don't give me that face. I'm betting you want the cheese in my pocket.
Dog: (He sits and waits patiently.)
Loghain: Very well, here you go. Don't eat it all at once. Or... do, whichever you prefer.
Loghain: I used to keep cheese in my pocket for Adalla too. I think the rinds were her favorite part.
Loghain: I mentioned she was taken from us, did I not? This was when Orlais still ruled, and it was an Orlesian lordling who took her.
Loghain: He wanted to mix the blood of our noble mabari with their frail, wasp-wasted game hounds, which were bred for looks, not intelligence.
Loghain: I tried to keep her, but there was little I could do to stop the Orlesian... I wasn't even a man then.
Loghain: You can imagine what it was like for her, being torn away from the boy--the family she was bonded to.
Dog: (Long, low whine)
Loghain: It was six months before we saw her again. The Orlesian returned her--and when I say "returned," I mean "pushed her out of his wagon."
Loghain: She was skin and bone, and still carried the scars from where their pronged collars bit into her neck. She never quite recovered.
Loghain: She passed away after a week. It was as though she held on long enough to come home to us. I held her head in my lap, and I believe she died happy.
Dog: (Sad whine)

Except that the epilogue does not speak of a "rosy and peaceful reign", and is left vague for you to imagine. But the basics, such as Alistair deferring most of the decision to his chancellor even when hardened, is established and that the kingdom manages to survive. You can then imagine what you want based on that, even imagine Alistair becoming more adequate for the job.
Same with the Cousland / Anora epilogue, which specifies that it's only a Golden Age if they can manage to cooperate. So a jackass is not going to logically get that ending.

Yea, I was actualy surprised. Not only did I not imagine Loghain having a dog, but I was surprised dog actually liked him. Gee, Morrigan was right when she said dog was not the stupidest member in the party
Also, this makes me lmao

Does his dialogue with Dog have something to do with approval? I went back to my previous game and spared him because I got impatient with my current character, and didn't have enough time or maps to get his approval above 60 I think. I didn't get any dialogue between him and Dog.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

I also did the DR but didn't get that line from him. Is that a specific response to something the Warden says? Because it's actually really funny.

Don't know. Are you using the dog mod?
And I think you have to question Morrigan again even after you agree to the ritual to get that line.

Dog's banters will never trigger when he's being used as a summon. He needs to be an actual party member for his banters to trigger.

I am not sure on both counts. I always get his banter with cdog and I don't know if it has anything to do with approval. I don't think so, but I am not sure.
I did the Loghain DR thing only once, and I can't recall what I said. I initially thought it was his default line when persuaded, but I guess not since you didn't get it.
Morrigan's reply is equally funny and typically Morrigan. Something about her not being surprised that Loghain would prefer doing it with his wife's corpse lol

I don't think the dog is included in the banter cycle or any of his triggered events if he is in the "dog slot" and not in the party proper.

I could get dialogue with Dog and other party members in camp, but I couldn't with Loghain. That's why I wasn't sure if it was approval based.Zjarcal wrote...

And that's my other question, is it party banter or does it happen in camp?
edit: Sounds like party banter, and I can take care of that when the time comes.
