Eamon would look a lot younger if he got rid of the beard. Beards are ageing.

When I was at uni I started seeing a guy who had a beard (not as big as the Arl's, of course) and most people thought he in his thirties. He was actually 19. Once he shaved it off, he looked his age. Oddly enough, his name was Eamon. (Pronounced Aymon, though...as it actually is in England/Ireland. He was a Liverpuddlian of Irish descent).

Yeah I always thought Nate looked more like Loggy's son than Howe's, though he does have the Howe forehead.

They're definitely both of the type I tend to go for, though. No clean-cut Alistair-clones for me.

My worst fears would be realised and yet again one of my favorite franchises would be ruined. By the same damn company. Sigh.
 

My fear is unfounded however ( as I just recalled something ), as Blizzard did announce they are making a new MMO that is NOT a WoW expansion or a Starcraft or Diablo MMO, but rather a new IP ( though I ain't naive enough to believe them fully ). So it would seem that what they intend to do with Mengsk is for the purposes of the story of SC 2. Though given that we only saw the first act of a story, we still have much more to see for a resolution on the matter.

I think that what Mengsk was doing at his secret facility, was trying to find a weapon against the Hybrids, for I think he knows about the threat they pose ( how exactly he does is uncertain ), and the scenario seems just as plausible as him working with the Hybrids or for a Dominion Officer to be working with them.

Now obviously the game does portray him in a bad light, but it is from Raynor's perspective and Raynor wants to kill Mengsk. I don't disagree with Mengsk's desire to kill Kerrigan, nor using Tychus as he did ( in fact it was a very smart move ), hell only Zeratul and Raynor know that Kerrigan is needed to stop them....and I don't exactly trust Kerrigan either.

As for Warcraft, in Blizzard's defense I will declare that World of Warcraft is a very solid and enjoyable game despite the butchered story ( so butchered that Pardo himself declared that when they would make Warcraft IV they would set in an alternate universe ). Now obviously haters will declare that there has been no Warcraft IV because of WoW, but the real reason was that Blizzard put their people on making SC 2 as their next RTS instead of Warcraft IV.

Unlike other companies, Blizzard doesn't **** around. SC 2 had been in development for over 6 years before the release, and the only impact that WoW had is that for one the development was paused as they used resources to make WoW, and that's OK in my opinion.

So we will probably see a Warcraft IV after SC 2 is done with ( remember that it took Blizzard four years to make Warcraft III after Starcraft 1+ Brood War )

So I am curious. Who here dresses him with something other than the River Dane armor?
I am the kind of player that doesn't care much for stats and just go with what I feel suits the character. So I always leave the River Dane armor on Loghain. Sometimes add the Grey Warden helmet.

Yeah, I bet he was quite the hottie, though I don't think he looks too bad now. A bit dark under the eyes but he's got a lot on his plate, so to speak, and I don't think he's sleeping so well. I guess I'm used to epic dark circles as my fella has them, heh.

One thing about getting older yourself is that you start to develop an appreciation for the older gentleman. When I was in my late 20s I always dated guys five or six years younger than me, but I don't find that very young look appealing any more. I guess I realised that when I developed a huge crush on Canderous in KotOR, lol.

Of course, game characters generally still have fit bodies even as they age, which is generally not the case in real life.

Wouldn't mind going a few rounds with Varel, come to think of it.

Just created my Awesomely Evil Mage (see avatar) specifically to dash through DA:O to Landsmeet and then pick up Loghain as quickly as possible. Recent Forum discussions and some futher reading/viewing have made me very curious about travelling with this character and I intend to save as much of the game as possible in which to do so. (I also intend for this mage to pour blood into the Urn of Sacred Ashes and recruit werewolves for the war instead of Elves.) I think she looks like a suitable companion for Loghain, don't you? They both have the crazy eyes. . .

Well, Loghain isn't evil, as such...just very set in his ways, and rather ruthless with it.

Just bear in mind there are a few quests that must be done before Landsmeet. Obviously, the treaty quests are one, but Redcliffe becomes a no quest zone after that so take care of any that are located there. That means the entire Mage's Collective quest line must be done (the Defending the Collective quest involves Harrith by the windmill - that's the final quest in that line), Notices of Death (the widow in the chantry - you'll run into her during the Redcliffe defence anyway), Dead Drops (part of the illegal barkeep quests) and so forth.

Yeah, I know. I would obviously keep any quests that have to be finished by a certain time in mind. But for instance I don't have to go back to Ostagar before Landsmeet, or completely scour all the Deep Roads and do everything there is to do there etc.

And my mage isn't "evil" per se, either --she's going to be a Warden and help end the Blight etc. But Dark, is perhaps what I should have said. My Dark mage. But I bet she'll get perceived as evil too, though, by some people, just as Loghain does.

That would be an ironic twist, eh? It could also explain why Rendon supposedly hated Nathaniel's mother (according to Nathaniel.)

There are some Snape/Loghain comparisons to be made besides hair, actually. . .the man who's resigned himself to being the "bad guy" in nearly everyone's eyes, for the sake of doing what he feels is right. . .although unlike Snape, Loghain certainly makes an effort to explain himself to people, but neither of them really care if people know or appreciate what they did beyond how the peoples' opinions might affect their (Snape's and Loghain's) ability to to their jobs. . .
