Hmmm....allright. But if we keep the orphans, we must do something  to make up for it. Like, train the orphans to go beat up and rob little old ladies.

@Morwen: Hopefully, the unicorns were painfully dispatched first. Hopefully, it was something involving high voltage.

@Glor: I find the tears of a kicked puppy garnished with shattered rainbows the nectar of repentance.

There are two great Loghain stories I can recommends to any fan, both by the same author on FF.net: Arsinoe de Blassneville.

The first: The Keening Blade involves a Skadi Like Cousland ( seriously she IS mad ) and it starts off at the end of Origins.

The second: Victory at Ostagar deals in exactly what the title implies, with a Warden that reminds me of Addai.

Both are excellent FF stories I think.

So... playing as Loghain Hawke has been interesting.
Serious Hawke is serious indeed.

I got the nose right, and the hair... but I cant get the eyes right I think.
Cant even show anybody because my imageshack account is giving me the finger again.

I like both of these stories. I love the Keening Blade, even though its heroine is not one I would have ever written myself, much less paired with Loghain. But somehow Arsinoe makes it work, as she does the bewildering cast of characters and AU situation in Victory at Ostagar.

Another set I highly recommend is the trilogy by Lilith Morgana. In All These Wasteful Hours completes Origins from the Landsmeet onward, Cartography goes post-Origins til just past the spot of Loghain's cameo in Awakening (though it's turned a bit AU by that point, obviously), and her latest follows right after that. I haven't started on that one yet because I've been too wrapped up in my own FF, but I have no reason to doubt it's excellent. The first two are amazingly well-written and bear some responsibility for my deciding to write "Unbound".

But definitely, what Costin said. Anything that can elicit such high praise from Costin is something worth checking out.

I'm in the process of reading The Keening Blade and In All These Wasteful Hours, myself, and enjoying them both very much (particularly the latter), so I'll second or third or fourth those recommendations.

And Morwen, hi! I'd forgotten that I actually found your fic by seeing the link in your signature here on this site. I'm ShiningMoon on FF.net, the one who left the obnoxious rambling review recently. Mind if I take this opportunity to recommend Unbound to anybody here who isn't already reading it?

Also, since I've not posted in this thread before, hello, various other people. I've been lurking around here for a while.

Why sure, recommend away! :kissing: I'm honestly not sure who is or is not reading it from this thread --many of us tend to be very picky or even avoiding of fanfictions (as am I, by the way  --well, used to totally avoid, and am now just picky =]).

But Bitenomnom/ShiningMoon has a number of fics herself on ff.net, and a gallery on DeviantArt in which is displayed not only her art but some that she's done for other peoples' fanfics. And (correct me if I'm wrong) she's a recent convert to Loghain appreciation and has promised some Loghain art soon. Please post here when it's finished --we always appreciate it!

Since I've only started reading Dragon Age fanfiction in the past month or two, I'm still getting a feel for it. I guess it's good to know that a number of the stories that I've been reading come recommended by picky people with good taste; must mean I'm on the right track, eh? But I don't know how long it'll be before I have the guts to write my own DA fanfiction (let alone how long it'll take for me to actually produce something, er, good).

It's true, I am a fairly recent convert. Happy to be here. =D

Good to know -- if I manage to draw any decent Loghain art, I'll be sure to post it here. I hardly ever get anything done when I'm not under pressure, so feel free to harass me about it.

I have an update myself, for those still reading.  Chapter 25 of The Arrangement.  The "glorious moment" has arrived at last.

And so it begins. . .

Cailan is hugely despicable, Loghain deadly logical, everyone trapped like rats. It's a very interesting way to work Loghain up to The Moment that we all know is coming. . .

Ah! I'm reading your fanfic as well; just caught up last week, I think? (Well, I think I started it and got caught up during the same week, but anyway.) I don't think I left a review; was a little overwhelmed/intimidated by how much of it there was, and so on. So I'll just wimp out and comment here that I'm very much enjoying it and will be reading this latest chapter soon (got the update in my inbox, in fact, right before popping over here).

The Cousland in that story reminds me of you, just read it it's pretty good.

Nice chapter by the way. What did Howe send men to kill Ellie?

Loghain stories I'd DEFINITELY recommend (That haven't been mentioned yet):

The EXQUISITE "Trovommi Amor" www.fanfiction.net/s/5541044/1/Trovommi_Amor

Exquisitely written, FF turned into a form of art.

Shakespira's The Lion Of Orlais Series. www.fanfiction.net/u/2335959/Shakespira

First part does not include Loghain but should be read, it's exquisite. The other two...mesmerizing.

And may I recommend my little effort too? "The Edge Of The Grey Enigma": www.fanfiction.net/s/6087280/1/The_Edge_Of_The_Grey_Enigma

And let's not forget DragonRacer's The Hand We're Dealt, which is really charming --and I mean that in the completely unironic, non-condescending sense of the word.

Bitenomnom (and Addai, once she releases herself from her ban) have a lot of catching up to do. B)

I cant decide something for DA2.

I know that Loghain thinks that mages are very useful:
"Why yes that was my plan. To destroy the greatest weapon that Fereldan has"-about the Circle.

But I am not sure if Loghain would side with the mages, or with the templars.
What do you think about it?

Seeing how he was the power behind a rebellion, though a different type of rebellion, its hard to say. Loghain is somewhat anti-Chantry (seeing how he and Maric wanted to get rid of the whole Chantry in Ferelden at one point), though his reasons for hating the Chantry were more nationalistic.

When you mean Loghain Hawke, what are you refering to? What class is he, and what exactly are his motives and passions, Loghainwise?

This one, I have read (and definitely enjoyed) -- so a liiiittle less catching up to do. Thanks for all the recommendations. Many of those have been marinating up in my tabs (heh) while I process through others, but it's good to catch those others that I've not come to yet or otherwise missed.

Pretty excited because I finally managed to doodle a Loghain that looks roughly like Loghain. Still needs some refining, though...

Sword and Sheild Warrior.
Totally based off of the Loghian in Origins though.

Really serious, and mistrustful of well... everyone he meets.
Snarks at idiots though a lot.

The Chantry being the big friend of the Empress....well I think that should answer who Loghain would side with.

This is more the personality of Loghain rather than a clone of Loghain though.

Still aggressive Hawke is awesome to play.

I'll read it eventually, and all the others.  I won't even know what to do with my free time once my own is finished.

You'll have to read on to find out.  Posted Image

Well Loghain Hawke is still a Ferelden who might despise the Orlesians.

I think he can go both ways. I lean more towards relunctantly siding with the Templars. I don't think Loghain approves of chaos and anarchy, and wouldn't put the fate of 1% of the population above the rest.

EDIT: he sided with Uldred with the clear understanding that he would be submitted to the crown. That's not what the mages are doing in Kirkwall. Nor do they seem to be doing it elsewhere.
