Thoughts anyone? Because I'm honestly perplexed.
Though I will admit that I love deep dividing characters, Loghain seems more like a fallen hero that one would hate rather than sympathethize with or admire. He essentially allowed paranoia and his personal feelings to screw Ferelden out of defending itself from the Blight and which would have led to its utter destruction if not for the Warden.
I can't really answer your question, ShadowLord. Just that every decision Loghain made was something that can, if seen in a certain light, be seen as what he had to do- given the information he had and what he faced. The least defensible to me being the slavery. Also, it's difficult to break out of the mindset that the Grey Wardens are not necessarily the "good guys." It helps to see the order for its ups and downs.

A pity Cleansing Brilliance doesn't work on planets, else the Orgasmatron would have her day.

Despite the fact that he was getting pissed in the end.
I love how my Female Mage gets so much respect from Qunari in DA2.

I would say the Vasari mothership can feast on Kirkwall, but I'm worried about the side effects.
No doubt. One munch of all that crazy thin-veil evil-glowy-idol goodness that is the City of Chains, next thing you know, they will start blowing up their own ships, nuking their own planets, and building a new fleet of p[ossesed capital ships crafted purely from radioactive materials.
@Giggles: Nah, Kirkwall's terminally f*cked up. I'm glad the Arishok got the hell out of dodge, the epic crazy stupid there is appearently highly contagious, it seems. At least the only sane person in power with a brain was preserved from the atrocity that is act 3.

Yea I did notice a few pretending to be Qunari and talking like them lol
Can you point me in the right direction to witness this? Sounds awesome!
I'll admit, I mostly stay in the Anders Squee thread and, occasionally, the Varric thread... because the rest of the threads/forums are scary. So, I've missed the Qunari forum invasion, sadly.

He could rival KoP with his Morrigan devotion. He thinks she's a ressurected pre-Christian Welsh goddess. Even more so, because he said the ancient Welsh goddesses could be pretty ruthless b*tches, even more reason he was gaga for Morri. He finds it impossible for him ever to refuse her request of impregnation, no matter who he's playing, so long as it's a character he controls. He said he'd only play a female in a lesbian romance with Leliana, who would make Loghain or Alistair take the final blow. The thought of Loghain or Alistair being able to sully her awesomeness. And though he likes Alistair, he likes Loghain better (perhaps because he's pretty anti-Royalist, and usually puts Anora on the throne regardless). Zevran cracked him up, Leliana's lesbian religous tendancies were hot, but kinda creepy, and he wanted to hook Wynne and Oghren up, and was disappointed he could not.
What is even more interesting is that his wife, who is a very nice, ladylike, typical good Catholic Andalucian girl, also played the game. And she seemed nothing like your typical rpg'er. And I was absolutely fascinated to see how her own native cultural and historical perspective was on the game, which mostly conflicted with her husbands.
She did not like Morrigan one bit. "Bruja Malo". The locals are pretty superstitous about witchcraft in this area, especially tales of witches using magic to seduce unfaithful men into sin. She also finds it disgraceful Morrigan wanting to kill her own mother (The Spaniards are unaturally attached to their mothers, even if their mothers are raving psychotic lunatics). She herself loves Alistair, because "He's a good boy, still pure, make a very fine husband and father." Zevran she doesn't like, because his morals are too loose, and he reminds her too much of the local man-wh*res who frequent discotheks and pop ecstacy. She likes Leliana as a good and never hardens her, believing that God/Maker really is talking to her (like many Catholics in this region, there is great belief in the supernatural and divine intervention). She actually liked Wynne (lol). What was more funny is that she said Oghren reminded her of the many British tourists and expats around here. Loud, drunk, obnoxious, vomiting all over the place, and making hamfisted passes at anything that moves.
What is especially interesting was her impression of Loghain. She hated him. The reason she did is because he reminded her of Franco and the civil war. Naturally, she had been born years after Franco died, but her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents were very much alive in his reign, and remember it vividly.
To explain a bit, for those who know little about near 40 year long fascist dictatorship that was Franco Era Spain. Franco came to power after the Spanish civil war. The Spanish civil war was most brutal here in Andalucia, where there had been long standing tensions between poor, impoverished peasantry vs. the landed gentry. When the civil war broke out, sides were taken, long standing grudges unrelated to the war brought into fruition. The sides were Franco's Fascists (which were backed by Adolf Hitler) vs. the socialists/communists. In Andalucia, it was pretty much split, and even same families would have members backing opposite sides, and thus, fighting and killing one another. Often, for the dumbest of reasons. Eventually, Franco won, and with power, he pretty much carried out a long-standing vendetta against Andalucia, his most hated region. They still to this day, not 5 miles from where I live on the other side of the mountain, are finding mass graves, both from the Civil War, and the Franco years. Franco was the nice kind of guy who would depopulate villages if he suspected pro-communist sentiments, and thousands of people "disappeared" during those years, who are now being dug up as skeletons today. (What is even more sad is that the US generally supported this murdering maniac and helped prop him up, because he was the staunchest anti-Communist regime in Europe, and had alot more pull with Latin America.
Anyway, she sees Franco in Loghain. Like Loghain, Franco was a military man who upsurped the crown from the monarchy, and was trying to bring state-enforced unity to a country in chaos, and in many cases, made the fighting and rebellions worse. He was fanatical and hateful of Orlesians like Franco was of communists and the like. Because of this, she thinks Loghain, if allowed to live, he will set up a fascist dictatorship like Franco. She doesn't even believe the epilogues. "He will be back, more evil than before, you will see."
Naturally, I disagree with her assesment, but it really was fascinating to see how one's very culture, experiences, and history can see things from a very different perspective, and how it effects their gameplay. It's quite cute to listen to her explain in her Spanish accent, and amusing to listen to her and her husband tease each other and debate the game from their own perspectives.

And yea, I personally can stomach making Alistair impregnate Morrigan in my Dain Aeducan playthrough because well...power is sweet too.

Interesting, Skadi. I occasionally hear DAO music from one of my neighbors but haven't been able to figure out which one it is.
That would be awesome if you did, and struck up a new friendship based on discovering a mutual love of RPGs.
My friend and his wife live down on the more "civilized" Coast, where I live up in the mountains in a village that resembles a cross between Deliverance and The Hills Have Eyes. The likelyhood of finding gamers in this place is pretty much nil. Few have internet let alone electricity, and discovering a praying mantic dancing on a fly-infested haunch of ham hanging from the ceiling is something that fascinates them for hours on end.

I wouldn't say Franco was a fascist, but rather a traditionalist / conservative anti-communist authoritarian with some fascist leanings but without the Fascist totalitarian vision. But that's not too relevant.
There are people who still hold that view, even in this area. The main sources of his support in Andalucia were not only wealthy landowners, but very devout/traditionalist peasants. I think Franco was pretty fascist, it's just that the Spanish are no where near as organized or efficient about going about it like the Germans were.
I remember the bar on top of the mountain had a picture of Franco, and it said in Spanish, something like: "At least under me, you always had work and could smoke in your own bars." Mainly being a stab at the current socialist/nanny state that has caused sky high unemployment and just recently banned smoking in bars, a blasphemy that is seldom enforced in this region anyway.
But in general, there was far more anti-Franco sentiment in this region, because Franco went psycho on Andalucia.
But that is awesome Skadi! Maybe now you wuldn't hate your village as much

Sadly, like I said, they live down on the coast, in one of the more civilized towns. People up here still believe blue eyed dogs and cats are minions of the devil, and make the sign of the cross when one is spotted.

Hell, they should have put me in charge of act three. I would provide my own "third option": Raze Kirkwall to the ground, Gallows and all it's denizens included, run off with Varrick and Anders and Isabella and form a bizarre free love rebel utopia colony off the coast of Rivain, and leave Cassandra to figure out on her own WTF happened.

Oh, trust me, once I'm done with him/them, Justice will know that it would be impossible for any demon to be as sexually depraved as my Hawke, and thus, give me an all clear on any future possible possesions.......
