Awesome work, Costin!

Love the black & white for your dwarf's flashbacks, the music is epic... I chuckled at the dwarf's nice accent. Posted Image

Overall, very awesome piece. Man, I do hate the Redeemer ending, though. I mean, it IS the most fitting, but... I cannot stop my wailing and lamentations every time I see it. Posted Image

Nice!  Do you have a Loghain morph running?  He looks a little different.  Maybe you have higher res than we do.

Costin: Very nice! I like the choice of music. Epic indeed.

...I've done some more with that one drawing I was working on, way back when... Here it is. It's just the lineart with a vaguely sketched-in background. (I would wait to post the colored version, but I'm not exactly sure when I'll get around to coloring it.)

@Costin:

The only thing I disliked after that video was that I could only hit the like button once.
Excellent work.

Although there were a couple of moments were the music was drowning out the VO.

My res is 1440 by 900, I am however using a HD texture mod and improved atmosphere or it could simply be a side effect of Dragon Age redesigned

So playing Medieval 2 Total War has made me more paranoid then Loghain.

Seriously.
I am at war with:
France, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, and the Holy Roman Empire.

They are losing sadly for them.
France lost its king trying to take Caen,
I am marching up Denmark's coast taking city after city.
Sinking Spanish fleets as they come.
Plus taking the second to last Portuguese city.

KoP will like that I signed a trade rights deal with well... most Muslim factions since Spain is my next target.

Still though it seems everyone is out for some English blood right now.
I have so many scouts and spies running around Europe.

I don't think one can be involved in politics without some paranoia.

Good on you. Provides market opportunities and pacifies North African pirates that were a pain in the ass at the time.

Well after Spain, North Africa is my next target.
Wont do much for the game but it means that I would control the Atlantic.*

The funny is though, the Pope LOVES ENGLAND right now.

I have no Cardinals and only one maxed out church in London.
Ah he keeps excommunicating the other factions though giving me an edge.

*That leaves me wondering what would have happened to world history of England was the only faction in Europe that went around Africa and reached the New World now.

Well Cailan will have some more company now.

The French King died from hot oil landing on him in Caen.
The King of Denmark got sunk in the North Sea by me.

Now the King of Spain.... King Durr if you will.
I marched an army down to Portugal's last city, across Spanish Territory.

A full 20 unit stack of Longbowmen, Swordsmen, Billmen, and Calvary. With two catapults.

They had 15 units.
Of villagers and militia, with their King being the only calvary.

Now King Durr got up and made a rousing speech as my general who handed an army from France, then from Denmark, and the latest Portuguese army its butts in a row watches this.

My crack upgraded and experienced infantry await on the hills.
My calvary on the wings.

My archers and catapults awaiting.

THEN:
King Durr charges on horseback... right into my billmen.
King Durr met a brave end on the end of a good Englishmen's spear that day.

Needless to say over 85% of his army perished in the fighting.
Not one was ransomed that day.

Britannia FTW!

Well done!

This really needs map. I can understand Loghain's infatuation with maps. They magnify the epicness of a thing.

Ugh the upload speed is TERRIBLE.

Also the French pope met a terrible end by cross bow.
I have a rank 10 assassin in Rome killing enemy diplomats and agents.

And popes.

Although I do feel somewhat evil.

I buy up HUGE chunks of mercenaries.
Then throw them as shock troops right at very strong enemies and cities.

But only a little evil as it really works.
Sadly for the other sides... jolly old England is a very wealthy and industrious island.

Only one city is really devoted to war, the rest are making me VERY rich.

Mercs are meant to be used quickly and then disposed off. Good thinking.

Thing is in reality, they are probably not that stupid, unless you pay them really really well.

They really should have heard of me by now really.

I first used Scottish mercs to assault the king as he prepared to invade Ireland.
I got their first, and he as with his son died in that battle.

As did like 70% of the mercs.
Right at the same time I hit Dublin, and killed the only major Scottish army.

In five turns I took Scotland down, and conquered Ireland.
The British Isles were united.

Then I blew my treasury on ships, and my economy.
Caen was sieged like... 6 times I think.

They all lost.

/unlurk

I'm more of a ME1/2 fan, so I don't visit this forum that often, but glad to see Loghain is getting treated well on here. He is the only antagonist that I've ever liked more than Saren.

The Pope is only mad if you START the war.
Scotland was gone in two turns, so it did not register yet.

All the others ganged up on me first.
Plus all my cities are at, at least 90% Catholic levels.

As much as the French have failed in this war they had an impressive start.

Getting three other countries to gang up on me at once was impressive.
To bad I had my fleets already at sea prowling the waves as it were.

Caen was also an impressive castle.
NOTHING could take it really.

HA!

The Holy Roman Empire and Denmark just lost big time.
My largest full stack experienced army just mauled the H.R.E largest army and wiped them out.

Then the Danes lost a whole fleet carrying their largest army too.

WIN.

I just.... can never use my calvary. EVER.
English Calvary sucks.

I need a new game. Obviously, Witcher 2 is coming but I like to give a game a little while to get patched before I start playing it.
Amazon has a few games pretty cheap - Assassin's Creed (the first one) is cheap but not sure how much I'd enjoy it. Alpha Protocol is around 7 quid now. There's also the Thief box set very cheap - I never did play those. Any recommendations, folks?

Other than Witcher 2 (which is indeed awesome), I can recommend Alpha Protocol, but you need to have a high tolerance for a broken game (gameplay wise). Story and rpg wise, it's excellent.

Cheers, Witcher 2 is a given but Alpha Protocol sounds worth a try. I am fairly tolerant - being an ex-games journalist I used to review all manner of buggy crap. I suppose that's why I'm so anal about unpatched games now.
