I must say, judging by the reviews in the DA2 forums of Legacy, it seems that this DLC was a pretty big imporvement over DA2 main campaign, as far as generalities of the DLC goes. What does everyone else think?

^ I haven't played but I got the storyline spoiled - judging from impressions of some people I actually trust on these forums the combat was vastly improved, mainly due to far better encounter-design.

The storyline seemed nice enough when I read it - nothing very special, works better for me probably in that form as I have zero interest in playing with Hawke ever again - a bit more family-dynamic which may or may not affect certain points in the main game (mostly, because you get an extra discussion and get to know a bit more about the family. so maybe you could actually care a bit about them)

As far as I can tell (waiting for some-one to write me some codices still or up them to the wiki) the DLC storyline opens up a few questions and points about the lore for speculation but doesn't really answer much, there still might be some borked timeline-issues etc. Again, as far as I can tell, its better than DA2, but that doesn't really require much. The lore-implications alone are not enough of a reason for me to actually go and buy it.

Husband bought it yesterday so I played some, a little more than half I'd say. The encounter design has improved and the areas are created with a little more care. It's still the same basic game, though. If you like DA2, you'll probably like it. I found it blah because I just don't care about the game and it's got the same cartoony dynamic.

I am a bit worried at the trend I see with both ME2 and now DA2. Poor main story, but very good DLCs. Not sure what I am worried about exactly though.

Still waiting to read the full story. Certainly won't get it regardless of how good it is.

Yes, same here. Naturally, I read the spoilers, and this is why I ask.  From everything I've read thus far, it seems people really like it, especially the story/plot dymnamics of it. The additions to lore certainly have my attention., and bring up new questions as well.

@Addai: Thanks for the input. I wasn't exactly expecting it to salavge DA2 for those who hated it, but it does seem to be an improvement over the main campaign, and it seems even many people who were disappointed with DA2 were at least more positive towards Legacy.

@KoP: Yeah, I'm thinking LOTSB as well here. I hope it's not a trend they are going to follow. I am hoping Bioware has seen its mistakes and is reversing the direction they took with DA2.

It's better than Trolls and Hairstyles. (Mea culpa CDPR!):lol::P:P:P I am kidding, btw, so no need to flay me alive because I took a dig at TW2.

You're missing out on a truly great DLC. I would have liked your opinion on it, but not YT or biased spoilers can replace a first hand experience. :crying:

They were for free ;)

I do not see the point of buying it. If I do, I am only going to play it once, if I even manage to want to load my save. But great that you enjoyed it ^_^

I'm definitely getting it when I get DA2. Naturally, I have developed some funky theories and would like to see how they develop or crash and burn. There have been enough positive leaning reviews, and has certainly caught my interest in a few areas. \\If nothing else, it's terribly expensive, at least for me in Euros.

Pathetic **** story in Legacy. You know what I prefer a barber shop that allows me to customize my character then a DLC which gives me an imba weapon and a story line that I will have to drag myself through every playthrough.

Nice pic KoP.

Awwww. Is this a father-in-law/son-in-law bonding moment?

I don't think Arcturus really grasped the fact that Loghain was his father-in-law at the time.

Probably all the hero-worship got in the way.

KoP, after reading your Witcher blog, I am more convinced than ever that you will love reading Dune and it's 5 sequels. The same political concepts and intrigues exist. Everyone has their agenda, everyone uses and backstabs everyone as needed or desired. You'd love it.

I don't know why "hero worship" as a word bothers me lol. It's not really hero worship. Rather respect and appreciation, I'd think.

@ Skadi,
Good that you reminded me! I have so many books to read and am too busy to do so sadly :(
But I'll try to read Dune soon. My brother invaded my PC anyhow, so I can't play.

I didn't intend to bother you, so it's good to know I didn't unintentionally do so! :P

And steal it back and give him your old one! Little brothers always get the stuff we're done using. That's why God made them, so we wouldn't feel bad about throwing stuff away. :)

He is playing TW2. It would be a crime for me not to let him play it in its full glory. Plus...I am a generous fellow what can I do? :(

I think the story developments in Legacy are very iffy. I'm suspicious of everything that comes at us now though, I guess. It all smells of retcon and/or them making **** up as they go along. But I admit I haven't grasped fully what they're trying to do- frankly can't be cheesed to do so at this point. I did put in a pre-order for David Gaider's new book. I guess that comes out in August?

I downloaded it this morning but as I'm still busy with my Dalish warden, I think it'll be a while before I give it a spin. I'm trying to avoid spoilers but so far I've only heard positive things.

You're just training him for his role in your world domination schemes. You don't fool us. We know what you're up to. You are using TW2 as a video training program. Nothing more. :P

@Addai: Don't know about the story yet because I havent played it, but the gist of it is looking good. definitely better than in the rest I've seen about DA2. Didn't know Gaider had another book in the works, let alone release. But I imagine I'll pass on that.

For me the awesome button in DA2 was the uninstall one, I'm not getting any DLC.
