Ok why wasn't it about Zevran and Izzy? Zevran has a reason to be there.

There can be no justification.  Sorry, KoP.

Although I kind of feel like trying to find other equally bizarro-Dragon Age adventures.  Let's see...

Morrigan & Wynne travel to Tevinter to convince the Circle there to integrate Flemeth's style of magic into magical schooling across Thedas?

It's just as likely!

Cause if you've played the most recent DLC, the Crows are about as effective at killing as Stormtroopers in Star Wars.

Yeah, here is the description/link to the comic story FWIW;

I'd be surprised/angry about BioWare basically re-writing in game events at this point, like its almost certain this comic will do, but honestly its expected at this point. How will the comic react to a King Alistair? Or a Warden Alistair? Or a DEAD Alistair? I get that it might be a separate canon from the games, yet you have Gaider saying stuff like this about it:

"The 'Dragon Age' miniseries follows Alistair  of 'Dragon Age: Origins' and Isabela and Varric of 'Dragon Age II,'
Gaider told CBR. "The three of them have traveled to Antiva, an exotic  land of assassins, to chase a secret from Alistair's past that will draw all three of them into danger -- and also reveal a surprising truth  about the nature of dragons in Thedas.

"It follows a few things that fans of 'Dragon Age' have probably been wondering about for some time, and a few plot threads that we haven't  been able to pick up elsewhere," Gaider continued. "I'm writing it, and
as the Lead Writer on both of the 'Dragon Age' games I can say pretty  confidently that it fits seamlessly into the overall narrative. These  are characters the fans love, and there's some lore here that they won't find anywhere else. It should be a treat."

Seriously BioWare, how about making a decent DA game? You do still make decent games, right?

I'm just waiting to see what they do with Morrigan at this point out of morbid curiosity. I feel like Rorshach at the end of Watchmen- just do it already and completely kill this franchise for me so I can put it behind me.

Maric turns out to be a dragon. Awesome.

Very interested in that fool's fate / sarcasm.

*clutches Alistair and Morrigan plushies tightly*  Shush, my precious ones, no one will hurt you.

(We really need that Gaidar trolling pic, but I don't have it.)

No, *Flemeth* is his mother...  which would make him and Morrigan.....

(sorry, KoP, couldn't resist) :bandit:

Edit:
Also - OGB with Alistair in the DR just got a lot more interesting

If Morrigan is in any way related to that idiot, I am going to be pissed.

The original one, with Isabela and Alistair and Varric. I may even read it.

I think I just had a revelation. My complete indifference to the news, without a single tiny atom of disappointment or irritation or any kind of emotion, can only mean one thing.

I do not care at all anymore.

Hmm, I thought I still cared a little but apparently not. Oh well, been fun for 2 years.

I love everyone equally. Just that Persephone is more equal than others.

If interesting topics pop up here (as they usually do), I can join. But I've been mostly inactive for over a month now. Last interesting thing I did here was upload screenies from Alpha Protocol.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't played DA2 (yet) . . .

Bear in mind: ME and DA:O were my first Bioware games, so... yeah.

You are like the proverbial person who was born at the end of the Roman Empire.  You will hear tales of its glorious past, but in the present the infrastructure is falling apart, poverty is abound, and the barbarians are coming to sack the city.

Regarding DA2 - you can check my thread history.  At one point I really enjoyed it.  I admit that.

But after 2 playthroughs, it is a coaster for my whiskey.  Personally I think I would've been OK with the story, but the "action style" combat and graphics are what really killed it for me.  I would advise you to stick to Origins.  By itself it is a wonderful story.  Once you add Awakening and DA2 . . . it becomes dirty and disgraced.

Gotta go . . .

Would this be a bad time to admit that my 2 most-played games of all time are Dragon Age:Origins and Betrayal at Krondor?

Ah, BAK - my DOSBox only has eyes for you.

Oh, well, I'll get around to DA2 eventually, I suppose.  I didn't get DA:O until March, so...  I'm just a sucker for finishing stories I've started, even if they start out good then deteriorate.  (Why, yes, I have read the entire Wheel of Time series - multiple times.  Why do you ask? :P)

Gaider tweeted that the comic will assume Alistair is king, but he wouldn't say any more about it. Supposedly Alistair tracking something from his past. So yeah, I'm guessing this is where we find out what happened to Maric. I'm expecting the worst so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Antiva without Zevran... Wow. Though I must say, I'm pretty indifferent. I'm sure I'll get the gist of the story somewhere without having to read it so I won't get annoyed.

Edit: Actually, it may not be a bad way to tie up some of the loose plot ends.  Zevran fans have been wanting to see what happens in Antiva, and if the crows really are being dismantled by Zevran, maybe it would touch on that.

I really hope so.  It was mentioned in another thread that maybe Maric's fate was the reason for Alistair to go at all?  Was Maric lost out to sea near Antiva? (haven't read the books or anything, so I don't know)

They're going to Antiva to look for a witch of the wilds- whether Morrigan or Flemeth or some other, I don't know.  Video from NYCC here.

@ ejoslin:  Zevran could make an appearance, who knows.

With latest developments I don't want to care- but there's a certain investment cost in the franchise that makes it hard to just give up on it.  Unless it becomes too embarrassing.   It's getting there.

Well, I'm glad I'm wearing sweats, then. :bandit:  No fly malfunction for me!

Anyway, it does have to be said that the talk of the comic has injected a bit of vigor into these forums.  Well done, DG old chap, well done.

edit for i can haz spelling

I guess Alistair's becoming another Cailian, and it's Eamon who's really running Ferelden, with Alistair as some sort of... well, I can't even say sockpuppet...

And he doesn't have a Loghain to remind him to attend to reality. That's the worst part.
