As for Leng, well if you ignore the cereal eating and urinating on other peoples vases, can certainly be an interesting character.

....what?

He went to Anderson's house to plant some bugs and then ate some cereals there. Not a big issue for me, compared to Mary Sue of the previous novels, Shepard's death, the retcon of the Genophage and Cerberus etc.

As for the whole urinating thing. Leng was standing watch over the entrance of Omega with a sniper rifle waiting for the perfect chance to kill someone, he couldn't move but he had to go. So he used a vase.

Lol I see.
I fail to see how either are necessary for the development of the character, nor do I see what they add. But sure, not a huge deal when compared to the other things in ME.

The vase thing was I guess to show that Leng was a professional. The cereal thing was because he was probably hungry.

I've read Retribution, not sure what's different about him from that book? Or did I forget something.

Oh, nothing major that I could find. I was merely hinting at his racistic nature gone, but that's more nitpickiness by my part.

And as I've said, lore issues are abundant, but then again lore issues are abundant in the ME games, and the other ME novels ( Biotics where portrayed very badly in the other ME novels for instance ). The other novels I only read because I cared about certain events that happen in them. I didn't read them for the characters because Sanders is a Mary Sue.

Certainly. It's not like any other novel/game/movie would have done the same mistake as Dietz, but there being so many errors like Deception has, really raises concerns. Though that is if you take something like that very seriously, which obviously many people are doing. And since you enjoyed Deception b/c of the characters and didn't mind the "lore errors" in the book, I can see why you didn't have problems with it.

Of course I don't disagree with the concerns present there, but it's kinda of silly to me how people ignored the massive issues of ME as whole and now are causing an uproar over this.

I would be pleased if Bioware fixed this, but kinda doubt it.

Oh that. Well there is the fact he thinks about the time he made racist comments to a Krogan who then tried to kill him.

So ME3 demo came out for some people. Seems quite very interesting from the videos I saw, and apparently Cerberus is no longer indoctrinated. Or at least one line Shepard was giving Liara about them indoctrinated is no longer there.

Pretty solid gameplay as far as I've seen.

I hope this means they've dropped the whole "indoctrinated" spiel and instead, give a believable, good reason why Cerberus is working with the reapers. That doesn't involve someone going bwahahahaha. I'm still going to wait for reviews and such before I get it, though.

They probably did. A lot of people, myself included, where really pissed off when it turned out TIM was turning against us. Now however I am willing to buy it if there is a reasonable explanation.

Unless they've rewritten the entire final scenarios and abandoned all the concept art, it's unlikely.

What concept art? As for the beta script. The leaked beta had that dialogue from Shepard with Cerberus being indoctrinated while the demo does not. So I wouldn't really trust the leaked script that much. Certainly some events are going to occur that are in there but there are going to be major changes from that thing to the real game.

From the art book which was unintentionally released early for a few people, there was concept art of TIM transforming into a Reaper-beast with giant claws and other things. They've said the scrapped it because they'd rather want TIM to appear intelligent instead.

Perhaps, though the entire Cerberus plot is about indoctrination and removing it would likely require a lot of rewriting (which Walters has confirmed they didn't do when the script leaked).

Some new Loghain art is out.

This one by Aerenwyn, obviously a young Loghain.

I'm not getting ME3 so I will rely on you guys for spoilers.  :)  Decided today after I tried to re-load ME2 and none of my key codes are working, I registered for DLC with a different email address and the DLC content isn't appearing there.  This sort of stuff made Origins unplayable for us (unauthorized DLC bug) and I just won't have it anymore.  I'd have Origin off our system completely but the man is playing SWTOR and won't give it up.  So I'm downloading Witcher 2 onto the new PC as we speak, I have Deus Ex HR and tons of older games to keep me occupied.

Question- do you guys hang out at any other forums?  Steam, Gog.com, etc.?  I'd like a way to get in touch with the regulars here in case this thread is ever shut down.  We are Addai67 at both places, though I don't really post there.

Bioware is really shooting themselves in the foot with their "anti-piracy" measures. As my uncle would say, tripping over dollars to save pennies. it has certainly put alot of people off playing. And these measures don't even work, judging by the amount of pirated versions of the game going around. All these things do are prevent legitimate customers from enjoying their games.

I don't hang out at any other forums, but I do have a steam account. I'll add your name once I log onto the forums, though.

Yep, I support the necessity for DRM because I hate freeloaders, but if they're going to succeed at getting people to be constantly plugged in to their system, buying bits of content etc. then they're going to have to make the user experience a lot friendlier. Companies like Valve and CDPR succeed by giving value for money, companies like EA are trying to succeed by being pennypinching douchebags. Screw them.

Can you link to where he said that? Cause from my perspective it could mean that they didn't rewrite anything major once the script was leaked, but that doesn't imply they hadn't rewritten the indoctrination plot before.

Sure then you could ask why does Shepard say Cerberus is indoctrinated in the beta and not demo. To which I reply. It's a beta which misses a lot of stuff.

Addai: Personally I am not into the whole I hate Origin group, in fact I don't mind it all. Though of course I only turn it on when I want to play games on it. That said I do have several games on it, all of which have ran very smoothly...well except BF3 multiplayer

I think EA's motive for breaking off any games on steam is valid: The way steam patches the games sucks big time. For TW2 I had to wait at least one day or more for every single goddamn patch compared to when people on Gog got it for instance.

As for ME3, pre-ordered it N7 Collector's edition and I aim to play it. Hell I'll do a female walkthrough on Insanity on youtube for it ( besides a male one ).

As for other forums, me and Knight are on the The Witcher forums  Though me, Knight and Skadi have also shared Skype info.

Steam is problem-free for me, and I was already not happy that I wouldn't be able to get ME3 on it, but this just solves my problem for me. Fortunately I am not (yet) so much a gamer that there is any game I can't live without.

So I guess the Witcher forum is running again? Last I knew they were changing to a new forum so I haven't looked in a while. I don't have Skype.

They do have that forum up and running already. http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/

I don't have Skype.

Hotmail then or Yahoo?

To be fair this thread is the only thing keeping me on these damned forums. It's not the children in the ME forums that think you are a complete moron if you don't destroy the base. Children that ruined most fanfiction of Mass Effect for me save for a select number from authors I really like.

Children, who as self-righteous anti-Cerberus pricks as they are would wipe out the Batarians as a whole. Bleh.

Anyways, yea I am active in the Witcher forums. Been having discussions there that I haven't had here in months. Those several pages, multi-quote back and forth essays remind me of the good old days.

Ok, I registered there as Veleda.  I won't look into the forum much, though, until I finish the game.

I don't like Cerberus but I did save the base.  It seems a logical thing to me.  You would never have gotten through the relay at all without salvaged tech.  But yeah, I don't go into ME forums at all.  I only post here on Off Topic anymore.  Occasionally I look into this thread and see what you're talking about.  =]

*just saw said concept art*

...

yeah, so instead of looking like some Reaper/Dead Space monster thing, to keep TIM looking intelligent they'll just give him some giant Reaper brain or something.

Meh, how they're handling the antagonists in ME kind of reinforces my thought that down the road in DA, they'll just make the likes of Morrigan or Flemeth into big scary monsters too. Hell, they already did that in DA2.

Can't go digging to link it as linking through mobile is a huge pain, though it could be true.

I think it's just to keep it "ambiguous" until the reveal in the end where TIM is essentially Saren 2.0 (or 0.5).

Don't forget about Loghain, revived by the ancient magics of Flemeth (if you killed him) where he'll reveal that he intentionally let Cailan die because he wanted Thedas to be destroyed by the Darkspawn.

Knight: Not sure what's so bad if they scrapped the concept. To be optimistic here, it might even be TIM doesn't become a boss battle. At least I hope so.

It's Bioware. I have very little hope or reason to be optimistic at this point. And quite frankly I reached the point where I stopped carring.

In other news, I tried playing KOTOR2. But the version I have for some reason deletes all save files and uninstalls itself everytime I shut the PC off, so I gave up.
