I care about why I am fighting, aka the story. If I don't care about saving Earth the very first time I play it and instead am scratching my head wondering what in the world is going on, then the game failed horribly.

When fighting with Roche, I couldn't care less about having a challenge. I cared about Roche, I cared about the North and I cared about Anais. I cared about the choice I could make. That is what makes that quest great. The music just added epicness to it.

And that's where we differ, ultimately I play for both story and gameplay, both I value as equally important. However when I am replaying a game, am I doing to see a story I already saw? Do I do that over 8 times as I did with TW2? No. I know every outcome, every possibility and every single aspect of it by then, the reason I am playing is for the gameplay itself.

This is why I only replayed Origins 5 times ( and the last time was just to fully experience the Zevran romance and I was bored as hell by the end ) and I couldn't give a **** about it anymore besides reading some fanfiction on it, The gameplay just sucks. It's one of the reasons why I also only played Alpha Protocol 5 times ( I think ) despite really liking the story, the gameplay isn't all that great and why I only played Deus EX once, I just couldn't give a damn.

To put it bluntly, if TW2 didn't have Insanity I wouldn't give a damn to replay it at this stage, but since it does have it makes many fights an adrenaline rush..but not the ones in Chapter 3 or the Battle of Vergen, one notable exception is the Operator and Gargoyels in that Chapter ). Trying to replay TW2 on Dark Mode was just ****ing boring.

Obviously having a decent/good story does factor in, ME3 has Gears of War gameplay with some tweaks, but that it's set in the ME universe make it a lot more enjoyable for me then Gears.

I am far more likely to replay a game for its story than for its gameplay, which I find boring in ME3 to begin with. The Reapers are just so boring to fight. I was having no fun at all.

As I said, fair enough. Question though, would you find it better if they changed TIM in the final confrontation? As if he wasn't with those retarded implants and we didn't have to kill him? And if the Catalyst was changed? Cause it seems that's what they are planning to do right now.

Depends on what they do. I have virtually no faith in bioware anymore.

Will see I guess.

Hmm I do wonder if Geralt will actually travel to Nilfgaard in TW3, Dandelion mentions going to the university in Redania ( Foreshadowing maybe? I think it's a fact that Dandelion is going to be with Geralt in TW3, one way or another ).

I hope he and Zoltan are not. I like them but I'd rather Geralt meet new people.

Where's Skadi, I want to see her reaction at ME3 lol

Zoltan is not important, but Dandelion? Come on, he is going to be there.

@ KoP- Dandelion and Zoltan have to be there in at least some capacity.  They've followed Geralt this far, it wouldn't be the same without them.

Oh, and as for there not being anymore Loghains in DA- the fact that the real Loghain is reduced to a footnote should tell you something.  In DA2 he was just the "traitor," in the Silent Grove comic he's not even named, just called "a usurper."  So there you have it.

....*clap clap* well done Bioware. Not only do you write awful characters these days, but you want to ****** on your old great ones as well.

I imagine they're going by telemetric data on who was the most popular characters. We'll see, if Alistair ever finds Maric (of which I'm dubious), if he mentions Loghain.

I'll have to wait until they make a PS3 version. I don't think there are any shops up here in Iron River, Michigan that would allow me to rent a laptop. And from my experience with the town there aren't many gamers up here either, considering the closest Gamestop is 40 miles away.

I... gah.... I.... I think my brain just exploded from how horrible that is. I would hope that the future issues -- if Alistair finds his badass looking father -- have Alistair informing Maric of what happened to Cailan and what Loghain did.

Given Alistair still despises Loghain in DAII -- as noted by his line "Sadly Loghain still lives" -- I doubt that Alistair will defend what Loghain did even in the slightest. But he should at least go into length on what Loghain did.

If not, then I wonder just what the games will do to address if Loghain's still alive and as a Warden.

If Orlais invades Ferelden -- like I believe they will -- Loghain better flip over a table and punch a few people before riding on a horse to defend Ferelden again.

More then likely though, Bioware will just kill him off anyway.

The problem here I think is that the editors and publishers are enforcing simpleton rules on the writers so they can make McRPGs that play like casual action games. Can't strain the readers/ players of these games with too much nuance, it would get in the way of the bewbz. Gaider will occasionally joke that his editors or someone in the office tells him he can't use big words. Sadly that's no joke and the results are plain to see- more reliance on cheap gags, marketing the games on being socially progressive rather than on being quality storytelling, and melodrama instead of subtle, complex tales.

The real sad part is that the Witcher franchise and Fallout New Vegas show that none of this is necessary in order to sell lots of games. Maybe not mega-bucks, but what Bioware is doing to its reputation can't be helping sales, either.

(Haven't read the comic so maybe I'm missing something) In the comic isn't it where Alistair has now been king for a while? History is written by the victors and all that, since I'm sure Alistair has no love lost for Loghain. Although it would be nice in the games if certain Fereldan people remembered him as a patriot  and not some "usurper."

And the irony of it all is that games like The Witcher and New Vegas and Skyrim have sold far better than any of BioWare's recent offerings. Well, maybe not The Witcher games, but since they're cheaper to make, they don't need to sell as many copies as something like ME, which more than likely has a bloated marketing budget weighing it down too.

TW2 sold slightly less then DA2 even though TW2 was a PC only game with high system requirements.

DA2 also had double budget of TW2. So yeah failure compared to TW2 as far as I am concerned.

That wasn't out of Alistair's mouth, though- it was in the narrator intro to the story.  Together with DA2, it imposes a black and white view of Loghain, when the strength of his story and of DAO's political story in general was that it wasn't black and white.  But I figure that editors think keeping a nuanced view would confuse the drooling masses.

How angry was he? I personally was recording for my walkthrough so whenever I saw retarded **** in regards to TIM it was a hard thing to be quiet and not utter profanities.

To the point where he got a headache and vomitted in his mouth a bit. He was very pissed, considering how he loved ME much more than I did.

Well.. I'd imagine my reaction if I had gone in ME3 blind would have been...well suffice to say I would need a new desk, monitor and keyboard. Thankfully I went in there knowing how it would end.

Let me guess though, TIM pissed him off more then Catalyst?

Despised them equally, though the catalyst added an element of "wtf, seriously?"
TIM, I could have seen it coming.
