Speaking of history, if I told you that there was once a stubborn ass Prince from my country who marched through the Ottomman Empire all the way to Adrianopole, some 24 miles away from Istanbul, would you believe me?
Then the Prince of Transylvania ****ed him over, but still....if he had not then....Istanbul would have fallen to an underequiped, weakly trained army of Peasants.

In the real world it is just the opposite, cause having honor requires a high amount of confidence- confidence makes for good leaders (not arrogance mind you).

Frederick I, Phillip II, Richard I. Those mean anything to you.

Frederick I, Phillip II, Richard I are no more authoritative or decisive than Emperor Wu (Liu Che), Jomo Kenyatta, Santa Anna, or Fidel Castro.

He got to the Loghain descion but spared him even though he had been going on about killing him for a while. I asked him why he spared Loghain, and he said its from the Lord of the Rings that his inspiration came.
Specifically this line:
Gandalf: Many that live deserve death, and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death and judgement.
Even the very wise can not see all ends....
The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.
From this scene:
One of my fave scenes in a great movie.
Never really though about it but that specific line from Gandalf fits very well into this scene.

Great quote, and a great reason to spare him. And good on you for getting so many to play DA!Giggles_Manically wrote...
I was just talking to a friend who is playing DA (got three people in my dorm playing!).

And Hole Lee Shyte. Still only at 57%.

Although one of them is having a blast as a DN.
He keeps calling me from down the hall to explain things.
However he has met Loghain and thinks he is awsome.

Ugh, I had to talk my other half (who lives 300 miles away, give or take) through part of Fallout 3 the other day. He's a gamer as much as I am but is more into co-op sniping games. Spoke to him later to find out if he'd finished that section and he said yes, then he'd blown up Megaton. *massive facepalm* That's the one thing I can never do in FO3, even on my more evil Lone Wanderer.
Now he's talking about trying DA. If he kills Loghain I might just have to dump him.

I'm currently working on a fanfic where my city elf chooses to spare Loghain. Mostly because I've seen sooo many people on the forums say it's 100% impossible/unthinkable that a city elf would do so, considering what Loghain allows to happen in the Alienage. As for myself, I think it's kind of fun to do the impossible.
But while doing some extra research on the Wiki last night, I ran across a quote that Valendrian gives the city elf Warden during the origin that I had completely forgotten about. Now I'm definitely going to find a way to incorporate it into one of the chapters because it's so fitting. You get it, IIRC, when you are cautiously friendly towards Duncan (as opposed to the more "let's go roll, shem!" kind of aggressive response) and, when Valendrian vouches for him, respond with "any friend of Valendrian's is welcome here" (or something to that effect):
Valendrian: "I would say the world has far more use of those who know how to stay their blades."

He is going to be twisted really hard in this scene, totally the single hardest choice in his life.

Female Human Nobles must become the Queen with Alistair.
Male Dalish must romance Morrigan.
City Elves cant spare Loghain.
Dwarf Nobles should not romance people.
I broke all four of those rules I have been told.

I really cant wait to get there with my City Elf.
He is going to make Shiani Bann, and plans on standing behind her and using his hero status to run over opposition.

Well, I don't actually have a male Dalish but becoming Queen was the only reason I even played HN. Of course I spared Loghain as my CE and my male DN did romance both Morrigan and Leliana although he kind of lacked committment and so he just decided to go back to Orzammar to be practically the only semi-responsible parent in the game at the end.Giggles_Manically wrote...

The idea of not being able to experience sun on your skin, the wind in your hair, grass under your bare feet - hideous. I can't relate to Finn who hates going outside and wants to sit indoors with his books all the time.
On the other hand, whilst a few of my mages have hated the chantry and/or templars, not all of them do. They just want more freedom.
