Aha. Right. Well I like to leave him in his River Dane plate anyway - it's his signature armour. I give him Maric's sword and maybe some rings and he's good to go.

Yep, I can't see him in anything but his River Dane armor either. And honestly, I don't think I really looked at his stats because I didn't have a problem with him, but I remember being surprised that his strength is only 36 when you get him.

Interesting info. Many said that we don't actually get to see Loghain's strategic and tactical brilliance in the game. But as I was asking Bodahn for rumors, he said that Loghain won a decisive victory against the bannorn despite being overwhelmed initially at a key battle (at a valley I think, forgot the name). He also said by the time I had rallied all my army that the bannorn was clearly defeated by Loghain and they can no longer do anything against him. Gossipers also speak of 3 major battles between Loghain and the bannorn and Loghain won all three.

So the calling of a Landsmeet was a move of desperation, as the bannorn was defeated by that point. And all that was left really was Redcliff (barely).

Hearing all this gives more reason to recruit Loghain. At war, he clearly knows what he is doing.

Yes, I've always listened to the rumours. Some of them are quite nasty (there's one where some hunters fired tents Loghain's men were sleeping in, burning them to death, so he had them strung up and left them to die. Nastiness on both sides) but he's clearly a good military leader. Brutal, but effective.

Contrary to popular opinion, he does smile sometimes, too.

I'm never sure how much of those rumors to believe. Not to say that Loghain wouldn't do something like string up some hunters to die, but some of the rumors are things I've done and they aren't retold properly.

Well, rumours are, by nature, exagerrated. But rumours concerning battles lost and won, I'd take as truthful.

Curses! Is there such a thing as tech support in Ferelden?

Ferelden tech support was outsourced to Orlais, I'm afraid...

. . .just thinking of Loghain's reaction to calling Ferelden tech support and being greeted in an Orlesian accent . .

Too bad the 'totally overreact' button is broken, huh?

I do hope Loghain likes croissant, cause he's likely going to have that for breakfast everyday the rest of his life.

Well, until he goes to Orzammar anyway. (Assuming he can keep from being assassinated.) Then it's a nice bit of nug before heading into the Deep Roads.

Poor bastard. That's his fate in my current game - my mage chap is romancing Morrigan so he'll be popping a bun in her oven shortly.

Mac Tire is gaelic for wolf. The name is likely not a coincidence.

Ah, didn't know that.
Perfect name for Loghain then. Just like Cailan is the perfect name (it means child).

Are you sure it doesent mean "Glorious Child who was dropped on head at birth?"

Heh, I made this for the Cailan thread but it probably got lost among the actual discussion. I figure it'd be more appreciated here...

Loghain served one reason and that is to hate alistair.
I dont see him as evil (although his daughter is) but to be slain in front of his daughter made me really want to have nothing to do with alistair (never liked him very much)

I don't see Anora as evil, but she is ruthless without a doubt. She is quite similar to Loghain in a lot of ways in so far as she'll do what it takes to get the job done, no matter how distasteful. They are both prepared to do bad things for the greater good. Anora is the more politically savvy, and quite adept at using her feminine wiles to manipulate people but I don't see her as evil. Most of the characters in Dragon Age are more "grey" (including the wardens).

As for the Landsmeet, I couldn't agree more. I did kill Loghain in my first playthrough and that whole cutscene made me feel absolultely terrible. I couldn't do it again. Alistair's outburst, if you show Loghain mercy, is extremely distasteful to me. It's understandable, to a certain extent, but I find him very unlikeable after that.

The problem is that he always assumes you share his view of Loghain, and the in-game dialogue doesn't give you the opportunity to disagree.

Yes, it would be nice to have an opposing opinion to Alistair's "everything's about me and Loghain." This especially infuriates my Cousland because apparently she takes what Duncan tells her more to heart than Alistair does. She ended up killing Howe because she had no choice and while she did enjoy it, she would have enjoyed watching him be stripped of all this titles, lands, etc. and locked up in a dungeon hating everyday of his life.

It would be nice to be able to slap Alistair and say "Focus."

Falling to page 2. Here's Loghain and Maric in the Fade.

The two of them seemed awfully distant by the end of the Calling. Yet from how Loghain expresses his relationship with Maric in Origins, they still seemed to be close.

Oooh he's super blond isn't he? Can see where Alistair and cailan get the nose and chin, though.

How far along is your mod, currently?

Air Loghain. He got the kill on the archdemon again. (He survived this time, though, thanks to my mage knocking up Morrigan).

I thought that was kind of fun compared to Loghain's stark black hair Posted Image

I'm terrible at morphs. I was trying for an older, little bit darker, more experienced Alistair. He probably still looks too much like Alistair, but meh. I'll fix it later.

It's going. School is getting in the way of working on it, again. And it took me a while to get the stupid approval bar to register Loghain as romanceable. But that's working (mostly) properly now, so I'm writing dialog again.

So I guess it's too soon to ask if you need beta testers. Posted Image

I'll know right where to look when it's time for testers. Posted Image
