What I find appealing to the character of Loghain is that he is not simply the stereotypical villain, but one that has a well crafted background, history, and explained motivation for his evolution from hero to the dark, brooding man we see in this story. I highly recommend sparing hin at least once at the Landsmeet to expolre the hidden side a little before taking him up on his offer of final sacrifice.

Unfortunately the part I'm most interested in exploring is hidden by thick platemail. *sulk*

It's hard to hate Alistair. I think he's like Maric in that sense. To quote TST in Fifteen Minutes, it's like trying to hate a puppy. Yeah, he growls at you in the end, but maybe he's just teething.

A good analogy.

Of course, I happen to be in the rare camp of dual Alistair/Loghain luv. But I am demented enough that as such, I can do so without worrying about warping or mutating the Space/Time continum.

I concur. Contrary to the grief men give other men about owning/liking cats, guys who like cats are sexy. My husband had four before I married him. And my husband is certainly a roguish, manly-man (even Loghain-like in several ways... huzzah!  ).

I didn't used to like cats until I got one, and now I just think they're adorable. But I refuse to get another because I know I'll end up as the stereotypical librarian with 14 cats and no life.

So, it's obvious Loghain gets lots of squee and gush from the femmes in this thread. Besides, as Costin suggested, giving us a cold glare/stare that pierces down to our souls (), what do y'all think his reaction would be? Inwardly self-satisfied and smug? Vaguely horrified? Or just simply *facepalm*?

And just how frickin' hard would Maric be laughing from the afterlife at Loghain's harem (for lack of a better term at the moment)?

I think he'd go shield bash an Orlesian until he decided which would be the best course of action: self-satisfied, horrified, or facepal.

In the end, he might just do all three.

Cats are kinda, sorta on-topic. Wasn't there someone months back that got a grey kitten with icy blue eyes and named him Loghain Mac Tir? Even posted a few pictures of "kitty Loghain". Was that Maeves_Child, perhaps?

Yea I thought this was exclusively an Alistair phenomenon. Here, it's actually more volatile. Loghain just once again proved he is better

Bah Loghain dosent have to prove he is better.
He simply is!

Others try to prove themselves better than Loghain and fail, thus proving Loghain superior without him having to actually do anything.
