I have written “A Warden's Promise” in the form of a side quest during your party's Deep Roads shenanigans.
Due to some formatting issues I apologize if it is hard to read or follow. I have scripted it so you can choose different dialog options and map out your own conversations. Follow the same emoticon in the dialog tree, and you should be able to follow the conversation. (I'm hoping this will work and make it easier to read.)
A Warden's Promise – by Ardinal
While venturing forth with your party into the Deep Roads, your Grey Warden stumbles across what appears to
be a shrine. You find a suit of armour with Warden heraldry on it, a small pendant with the name “Eren” and a letter.
“My love,
Before that day comes, before we are called, I want to make my feelings for you clear.
Together we were joined in blood.
And by blood we were forever bound.
Bound for the depths, the darkness, it's morbid promise whispered in our ears.
Together we stayed vigilant, awaiting the time when we could serve our purpose.
In death, “our” sacrifice.
And I say ours, because I have never been alone.
Duty above all else they said. A Wardens path they thought best to walk alone.
Yet our path, it is the same. This cursed blood, it flows through us both.
And all blood, comes from the heart.
From the day you kissed me I knew.
We would grow old together, and die at the same time.
When we are called I will be right there by your side. I promise you.
I love you, always.
Adalgiso.”
If Alistair is in your party the following conversation will be triggered.
Alistair: Warden Armour, minus a Warden. I wonder if the owner was on his Calling.

:huh:Warden: 2. So we hear voices, drop everything, and come down here to die?
:devil:Warden: 3. Lucky we have another Warden handy to put in it.
:blink:Alistair: 1. You know, the Grey Warden retirement plan. The one way trip all Wardens can look forward to - if the beasties haven't killed us first.
:huh:Alistair: 2. So you prefer darkspawn making house calls instead? I'd want to go out fighting, not standing around waiting for the inevitable. Wait, are you upset about this?
:devil:Alistair: 3.This belonged to someone. A Grey Warden, like you and me. Shouldn't we honour them by leaving it here, like a grave marker or something?
Warden: 1.2
:blink:a) Oh that's right. So glad I signed up, the perks just keep coming.

:huh:a) I'm not upset. We should keep going. And we may as well make use of that armour.

You and your party survive the gruesome battle with the Dwarven Broodmother, the terrible fate of many female
captives of the darkspawn revealed. Hespith's chant is never far from your thoughts as you continue deeper into the Dead Trenches in search of Branka.
You hear a woman's voice, at first it is incoherent. Upon travelling further in you come across a cavern.
You see a woman huddled in a corner. She is wearing plate armour of some kind, and is covered in blood.
Eren: “rambles” I was here... you were here. We could die, you and I.
Trigger Cut-scene.
Eren continues to ramble and huddle in the corner.
If Morrigan is in your party.
Morrigan: “ 'Tis another woman on her way to being a mother then? I am sure any promise of motherhood would
make one ill of mind.”
Alistair: It's no wonder you would say something like that. Your mother is the very picture of sanity.
Morrigan: Yes, I too doubt her sanity when she thought it beneficial to rescue and idiot such as yourself
Alistair.
Eren turns and confronts your party.
If Alistair is wearing Adalgiso's armour.
Eren: Adalgiso. You, you didn't die. I knew you would come back for me. You, you went away. The darkness
came. Nearly swallowed me whole. But now darling, we can die together at last.
Alistair: Adal in the what now? I'm an Alistair, not a... what is she talking about?
Warden:
1. Poor thing. We can't leave her like this.
2. Er... it must be the armour. She thinks you are her dead lover.
3. Yes you are an Alistair... Eren this is not Adalgiso...
Alistair: This is because I'm wearing dead people armour isn't it?! We should have left it but noooo
Ser pushy greaves had to... hey what's that light?
A light emanates from Alistair and he is possessed by the spirit of Adalgiso.
Alistair/Adalgiso: My love... My Eren. I'm sorry. I fought hard, but the darkspawn kept coming. I never
meant to die first, I didn't know what they would do to you.
Eren: Yes, I remember. You left me. You left me here, and they took me. They took me away. They made me eat.
How could you? You promised! We were meant to die together, here.
Together. You promised!
Warden:
1. (Persuade) Listen to Adalgiso. It's not his fault. I can help you.
2. It wasn't his fault. Also, get out of my Alistair, that's really creepy!
3. I won't have you birthing darkspawn any time soon. You die now.
Eren 1. Then help me. Give me the death I deserved. He promised. In death sacrifice! In death...!
Eren 2. and 3: You left me Adalgiso, but not again. Give me the death I deserved. Come my brothers and sisters, to arms!! For the Grey Wardens!!!
Scenario to response 1.
Cut- scene
Your Warden has no choice but to put Eren out of her misery. She offers no retaliation and after you have
struck her down Alistair, possessed by the spirit of Adalgiso is compelled to hold her as she dies.
Alistair/Adalgiso: I'm sorry my love. I'm here. We can be together now.
Eren: I see you. I'm on my way.
Alistair is suddenly himself again, holding Eren as she dies.
Eren: I see you too. Don't ever let her go. You are joined...
Eren dies, Alistair looks up at you and is obviously saddened. Fade to black and the cut-scene continues, Alistair placing Adalgiso's armour by Eren's body. On Eren's body you find another pendant with Adalgiso's name on it.
Scenario to Response 2. and 3.
Eren will attack you, attracting the attention of darkspawn wishing to protect a potential Broodmother.
Eren thinks the darkspawn are fellow Grey Wardens and leads the attack. Alistair is incapacitated as he is still possessed by the spirit of Adalgiso. Once you defeat Eren and the darkspawn.
Cut- scene
Your warden strikes Eren down. Alistair, possessed by the spirit of Adalgiso is compelled to hold her as she dies.
Alistair/Adalgiso: I'm sorry my love. I'm here. We can be together now.
Eren: I see you. I'm on my way.
Alistair is suddenly himself again, holding Eren as she dies.
Eren: I see you too. Don't ever let her go. You are joined...
Eren dies, Alistair looks up at you and is obviously saddened. Fade to black and the cut-scene continues,
Alistair placing Adalgiso's armour by Eren's body. On Eren's body you find another pendant with Adalgiso's name on it.
If Alistair was not wearing Adalgiso's armour.
Eren: Adalgiso? No it isn't you... but you two, you are like me. That blood, that filthy blood. Lies! He promised me! Don't listen to his lies! You! Like Adalgiso!
If Alistair had been shown the letter.
Alistair: Adalgiso? The letter... By the Maker! Please tell me... no this couldn't be...
Warden:
1. The pendant. Eren? Is that you?
2. It couldn't be. The letter, the Calling, it was long ago right?
3. Poor thing. We can't leave her like this.
If Alistair had not been shown the letter.
Alistair: Adal in the what now? What is she talking about?
Warden:
1. I found a letter earlier. She may be a Warden on her Calling.
2. How should I know. She's crazy... potential Broodmother crazy.
3. Poor thing. We can't leave her like this.
Alistair: Maybe we can help her. Um... Sister, fellow Grey Warden... lady, I'm man... I mean I'm an Alistair... I mean I'm Alistair a man who isn't the liar kind of man...
Morrigan: 'Tis not the liar you say? Your noble birth 'twas just a lie, white in colour and small in
stature then?
Alistair: Let's just say I have never lied about my feelings towards you, witch.
If Zevran is present.
Zevran: You can see he is quite the lady killer. That delivery.. such confidence, such poise! Such elegant use of
“man”.
Eren: I see you. All lies! Grow old together? Die together? LIES! The bloody path we walked. He left me!
He'll leave you here with them! They made me eat! How could you?Adalgiso! You promised!
Warden:
1. (Persuade) I know you are hurting. Let me help you. Let me take you to Adalgiso.
2. It wasn't his fault.
He really did love you. I can help.
3. I won't have you birthing darkspawn any time soon. You die now.
Eren 1. Then help me. Give me the death I deserved. He promised. In death sacrifice! In death...!
Eren 2. and 3: You left me Adalgiso, but not again. Give me the death I deserved. Come my brothers and
sisters, to arms!! For the Grey Wardens!!!
Scenario to response 1.
Cut- scene

Eren dies, Alistair looks up at you and is obviously saddened. Fade to black and the cut-scene continues, with Alistair placing Adalgiso's armour by Eren's body. On Eren's body you find another pendant with Adalgiso's name scratched into it.
Scenario to Response 2. and 3.

If you equip your Warden and Alistair with Eren and Adalgiso's pendants there are positive stat bonuses.
Upon returning to camp Alistair wishes to speak to you about the two Warden lovers and what happened to them on their Calling. This conversation only occurs if you are in a relationship with Alistair.
If Alistair had worn Adalgiso's armour.
Alistair: I need to talk to you. About the armour, and when I wasn't exactly myself....
Warden:
:unsure:1. Oh that. Um... I probably shouldn't have made you wear it. (Show Alistair the letter).
:devil:2. There is nothing to talk about. We helped her on her way, plus one less Broodmother to worry about.
:blink:3.You were possessed. I'm not worried, and I'm definitely not jealous.
:unsure:Alistair: 1. You knew about this and you still made me wear dead people armour? Dead guy speaking through
me, well it was... it wasn't pleasant. I felt. He felt so bad for dying first, for leaving her behind. It has me thinking about us...
:devil:Alistair 2. Oh yes, just another Broodmother. Not a fellow Grey Warden or anything. That she was left all alone, her lover dying on their Calling. Not relative to us in any way. Let's just forget it then. (-5<3) END CONVERSATION

The name Adalgiso means “Noble, precious and promise.” The name may also imply that Adalgiso was a
Warden from Antiva.
I picked the name Eren to coincide with some of the Celtic/Irish themed names found in the game. i.e. Morrigan
I work in a Gaming store and can't bring myself to stop talking about Dragon Age.
My friends have come to loathe the name Alistair.
