Agreed, I don't see why he is so hated. He's not a particualrly interesting guy, but its not like he's a jackass or psychopath. He's really a likeable everyman with no real personality whatsoever.

But he can be a jack ass alot but everycharacter is at somepoint in ME2
Grunt Tackles you to the wall on first sight
If you agree with cerebrus in anyway Tali hates you
Mordin Treats you like an idiot if you think genophage was wrong
Miranda Thinks your overated when you first meet her
Jack Acts like jack
and so on,Jacob is also the only character who didn't get a decent introduction unless you played galaxy(even Miranda had awesome opening cutscene and Lazarus) Jacob is just a survivor from the staion you run into.
Bioware Ignored Jacob in every aspect

Tali woulb be both the most  hated(but also most loved) squadmate probaly or Zaeed

I didn't mind the fact that he kept to himself, what did annoy the hell out of me, was how he came off like a whiny little 10 year old, with the tone he used, too much.
