What kind of PLAYER joins a server clearly noted as being in BETA TEST and then complains that it is 'incomplete'? A troll. Then the troll posted it twice. I get it, you came back to bash us, really classy (for a troll).

I was somewhat shocked to hear it's been in beta for almost 7 years, or was it 8? I forgot. Sorry Elgate! This gives me the idea that there's no intentions to fix what is broken and improve what could use a little touch. Too many areas are with very minor bugs that eventually get to you as you notice just how many they are, most of the areas I've been have no personality and feel like the random terrain generator's been having too much use.
If it is the case that server has been in beta for this long, it seems reasonable to be frustrated with any feeling of incompleteness.
Perhaps it was unnecessary to post this in two different threads (and posting the chat log was kind of a dick move), but the criticism seems thoughtful and not at all what is typically called trolling.

I posted in the other thread too.
I decided to see for myself what was going on here and this "missing post" isn't even missing. I asked what happened to it and was told it was just moved to another part of the forum and one of the DM's took a fit and started pointing fingers (which you can even see in the chatlog now that i am looking). So everyone got hyped thinking that it happened because the info was from a staff member even though the other staff members were saying "lets ask what happened".
The admin was probably angry because of the fingers being pointed at him hence his "tone". I mean, do you like being accused of stuff? I even found a complete version of this same post on there forums, which seems to paint a very different picture as to who was being hostile to who.
Looks like i bothered to do what would have saved this player a lot of trouble and just asked what was going on.

CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISIM IS ALWAYS WELCOME. This would include specific complaints about what is 'broken' in which Areas. Making broad statements without detail is totally useless and can only be called 'bashing'.
Yes, posting this was a 'dick move' posting it twice? TROLL.
Note the poster is a new account with all of four messages to their credit? Two of them are this double post. I smell troll.
Come read the full post on our server - it was NEVER deleted (moved so I could reply, then lock, since our forum does not allow me to reply to a locked thread this was the only way to keep my reply as the first reply in the thread... you know, this is some of what a forum admin does, not something to launch on the forum admin for doing - all of this is trumped up and intentional bashing).

The fact that this player drags an issue with the server to the Bioware Forums is beyond me. Rather than speak with staff and resolve what is at its base a simple dislike of a play style, It is brought here in an attempt to disuade others from trying out what is at its core and immense and realistic well thought out server.
Admittedly it isnt for everyone.
Having to wear warm clothes in bad weather?
Having to eat when hungry and slepp when tired?
Having to explore to the more 'distant' areas to discover the hidden gems this server has to offer.
Climbing, Swimming, Crafting, Enchantment, Custom Spells and items,
And a dedicated DM team which could of dealt with this themselves if the player simply stated the facts.
Frankly its a server that was listed under the Role Playing section of the server lists before they were removed.
Although it isnt a requirement to RP it is a heavily RP based server that would benefit anyone of the same nature.
The HackNslash style of play can be found but it wont be right outside the gates to the Capital City, This would make no sense.
And yes the server is in BETA. Argentum Regio welcomes guest builders and has an active DM training system, Of course a few bugs and glitches will sneak in, But once the issue is raised it is dealt with immediately.
As a player i havnt even been on Argentum Regio that long but i find it to be a very well thought out and welcoming server.

To clarify things, this player indeed was only on for 11 days, + - 1. Although I enjoyed the rather consequent, RP, such few days are not enough to get a big picture of the whole server, I am playing here for 3 years now, through the years I spent a lot of hours exploring, often I found nothing, often I got lost, but also often I found one or more secrets, hideouts, dungeons, crafting secrets, custom spells, monsters and so on. The world is build rather realistic, yes that also means that many areas are not fully filled with stuff to do or entirely fleshed out, it is a 1337+ area server, what does one expect. 2 Main Builder and a lot of unregular guest builders can only do so much.
Aswell as the many "empty" areas are considered, they have their meaning aswell, it is space to expand, space to build in, the server encourages guest building, and if someone has the feeling something is missing, he/she is welcomed to build something and hand in the results or build something in teamwork with the GM's and DM's and so on, and give it as a suggestion.
Another thing is the "deleted" post, in truth, the post was not deleted, but the GM hid it to be able to phrase a proper response to explain and clarify, without having everyone swamp it with a discussion that would lose the former point of this post.
The post aswell as the answer was shown again afterwards, and as I predicted knowing the GM, he did NOT simply delete the post, and the prejudgement that was passed by the people was wrong, although bein upset seeing a post suddenly vanish is understandable. There is always the possibility to ask POLITELY, where it has gone and why it has gone or made hidden or whatever.
Excuse my bad english here, I am no native speaker.
So generally said, Argentum Regio is not a server for everyone, sometimes it is boring, sometimes it is eyepopping fantastic in my eyes, and considering what I ICly found out about the background lore and the hidden mysteries so far in my 3 years, makes me think, I surely will stay another 3 years, it has it's flaws, seems not very fleshed out sometimes, but as said, work in progress, continuing developement, and if someone feels it empty, sorry but 2 people and a few unregulary builders can only do so much, so join the club and help fleshing out.

Valerion and Perrin said it well. Regardless of what world you play on or your style of play, remember that the creators allow you to play at no cost.
The admins and people like myself builders and writers, we work on our own time with no pay.
A general rule of thumb is before joining a world read theie froums for a general overview. See if you may work with it, try it if it does not work then move on elsewhere.

So, as it seems a new update is due, when is not yet entirely clear, but it should be rather soon, new areas, new spells, new scripts, new stuff in general, I am giddy for Meldramin's tower and want to explore it extremely :> Always remember, this server LOVES guest builders, and that is also the reason why we left a lot of undone spaces so those can unfold in their creativity in there completely.

Argentum Regio continues to grow and evolve. We are now running with more than 100 custom spells! New Areas are being opened constantly - and yes, we are well up there with 1337+ functional, connected Areas.
Recently one of our longtime PLAYERS has undertaken a real-life quest to create both personal maps and some PLAYER maps of the server. She has been busy exploring the server with her characters and compiling the individual maps, eventually assembling them into larger maps showing whole dungeons and even the whole surface land surrounding the main city. She shared her maps with the DM staff who are amazed and an interesting conversation arose soon thereafter, an excerpt follows.
GM_ODA : wb friend Elgate! I am gobsmacked to see the maps done as you have. Kudos to you elgate, stellar job!
Elgate : You know, once again, you've amazed me
GM_ODA : *blushes* You like the intricacy of the place down there?
Elgate : Everything makes sense and matches up- the levels, the cave-surface matching up. The way the tunnels wind under and over each other- it's amazing.
GM_ODA : *blushes*
Elgate : I've started 'overlapping' the caves' [maps] onto the world map, and even if they need some rescaling, the proportions always match up once the scale is set.
GM_ODA : Very Happy
Elgate : (Rescaling because NwN inside areas and outside areas seem a little out of proportion)
GM_ODA : yea they are a bit out of scale - indoor to out. You may find an occasion where I allow a small amount of 'drift', though only in the cave ramps, on rare occasion a 'cave ramp' may descend at say P14 and arrive at the level below at location O13 - this is done to confuse a little as a descending ramp in a cave is much less precise/straight than a 'stair', but for the most part, more than 99% you'll find all the entrances/exits match exactly. I had great fun building those areas, counting squares twice keeping sick detailed notes
GM_ODA : That's why I laughed myself silly when some of those posting trolls we had last year said in a post that the areas looked like they were made by a "random generator". I thought, "I win." I had succeeded at introducing a penguin to a room of blind men and convinced them all that it was an elephant.
GM_ODA : When you look at a forest, there is perfect order there, hidden among the seeming chaos. I nailed the seeming chaos. I am amazed at your tenacity to have mapped and linked all those areas/images that is just awesome to see, stellar job on your part!
Elgate : It's also helping me really appreciate the server, and the amount of thought that went into it- and occasionally, seeing everything together makes something 'click'![]()
The server is HUGE, so large that it takes a bit of traveling on it and serious exploration of the places it contains to get a notion of the 'big picture'... and it is really really big. In spite of that immensity, the details are there; if you follow an elevated trail, you will discover the elevation holds true from Area to Area, if you leave one map with the sea 'three cliffs below you', when next you see the sea, assuming no elevation changes (RAMPS) are engaged, you will find the sea still 'three cliffs below you'.
Elgate has mapped the c.400 Areas that make up the region surrounding the city of Dohral, when you consider such terrain being blessedly consistent with itself, and yet featuring jumping, climbing, swimming and even hidden trails, and now, new fissures, - you have what may be the closest approximation to 'classic D&D' to be found in NWN.
Vast, yes, but with many details begging the PC to tease them out. Yes, those not wishing to find adventure can plod through and by luck or by guile avoid monsters, but for those with an eye for details, the place is full of intrigue, quest / monster options, and adventurous fun.
Come, see for yourself, what immersion can do. I'll see you on the docks of Dohral.

Getting quite annoyed that so little is posted here by anyone but the developers and a few players, so posting new stuff as a player.
The server is still on and going, updates are being made, new areas implemented like the Tower of Meldramin,
the Island of Vestalla is being explored (More areas added and others being fleshed out) and slowly the inhabitants of the city are trying to reclaim the land
they were driven off by the monstrous hordes!
IC news:
The Archmage and Lord of Vestalla Valerion Turingskar is looking for an apprentice and possibly even an inheritor to his tower,
knowledge and secrets before he goes on his final voyage!
The Riftstone has been freed from the Shadowdragon that was known as the "Destroyer" and his tries to reshape and
reposition the plane in which this world exists differently to his taste, have been thwarted.
The invasion by the Leguardian Empire has halted at the border to Tivook, partially due to the efforts
of a mercenary army that destroyed or drove off the naval fleet that besieged Dohral!
Now they demand peacetalks and seem to set up some sort of expedition inside the Humfoo lands!
The mercenary army has set up camp at the borders of Tivook in case the Leguardian army should push further into the land.
The hunters have quiet down and the ruthless but little noticed war between their two subgroups does seem to have died down,
but who knows if this will remain the way it is.
The college of south Algrada for the arts of basic crafting has reshaped a bit and a new cantina has been added.
OOC news;
The server is in it's final hauls of developement, basically already was a fully functional server
but the fine tuning of some things needed work, and in the near future, it will be officially out of "beta" which it already is inofficially.
New Areas are being added, the Tower of Meldramin, Dungeons, some Islands, some custom homes, there are still spaces that can be filled by guest builders
even after Beta of course, the server is always open for continuing growth.
New spells have been added like Arcane Lock, Wall of Ice, Wall of Stone (useful to flee from a larger number of foes that are unable to fly),
Detect Secret Doors, Halt Undead, Detect Undead, Detect Scrying (who the hell is watching me?)
More and More features are being introduced, as an example the "Silver Shrappnell grenade" or the "Silver Ropetrap" for the hunting of Lycanthropes.
Or the toss function enabling one to throw an item to another character even if they cannot reach each other by walking/jumping etc.
bridging some of the limitations the aurora engine normally gives us.
More shops are being introduced.
What more, what more...?
Welp, that is everything that is coming to my mind at the moment, I will keep you updated incase something new turns up, be sure to take a look by times,
it is a server, unlike others, takes a while to get into, but the possibilities in building, immersion, and influence by players are humongous!

I am not certain of it, but this module may have locked up the following in terms of records :
Largest City in NWN
Largest Sewer in NWN
Largest Contiguous Surface in NWN
The place is vast and more monster-populated than ever before.
Feature rich, lag free, solid server with room to explore (1337+ Areas).
Fly, swim, climb, jump, squeeze-thru, and more, this is a very tightly scripted server with many quality features found nowhere else.
The web site has all the details, hope to see you on the server soon!
