People bash Jacob all the time because he stands out as a black character in a game in which the majority of the fan base are white males/females. They would use the "Oh well, Jacob was a boring character with a bad romance" as their excuse but the true reason is because he is the one and only black person in the squad. And unlike David Anderson, Jacob's physical appearance is more African than that of Anderson which seems to have some European physical traits to him. Finally, if Jacob is just a boring character with a bad romance and that is the excuse to why people dislike him, then why is it that MONTHS before the game came out Jacob was the butt of all jokes and there were many anti-Jacob discussions going on? At that time we knew nothing of his character's dialog and romance and significance in ME2 but yet people already judged him.

Lol....Wait are you serious?
Jacob was judged cause there was nothing unique about him when in comparison all the other characters(I sure as hell don't remember seeing him taking on a Thresher maw in a trailer or anything near that merit do you?) had something intresting we had seen or heard and the only form of hate jacob really gets any more is "heavy risk" and "the priiize" It's no diffrent than the constant times the  councilor dismissals or krogan headbutt are refrenced 
Infact if you eleminate those 2 hilarious quotes from the record im sure you'll see more hate towards miranda or jack
People don't hate on jacob cause he's black and every gamer who dosen't like him is racist, they don't like him because he does not stand out in anyway

Anderson isn't confirmed black BTW he seems more native american

I don't think people hate Jacob becasue he black(and if people do they wear pointed white hoods) but it because, he just isn't very interseting at all. Yeah he a daddy issues but, who freakin' cares! He just reminds me of Kaiden but more boring; maybe in ME3 Bioware can(and i might as well say it) hit Jacob with the good stuff.

You realize they gave us nothing on Jacob pre-release.

We had something on almost all other characters but Jacob. He didn't even have a FFTL video. So all we had to go on was, yes, he was black. We had to find something to attach to and joke about.

Miranda got tons of hate too and so did Jack.
