Since the Rogue thread generated a lot of good discussioin, I figured I would throw this out there. So lets hear - what do you think the Best Warrior Specilization is and why? For me:
1. Champion: No matter what your weapon skill is, every warrior benefits from the Champion Talents. Not a weak talent in the group. IMO, the best Warrior Spec by a mile. War Cry is a solid debuff early on. Once Superiority comes along War Cry is awesome. Group knockdown every 20 seconds? Just great. Rally and Motivate are very effective with a party buff of +10 attack and +10 defense.
The next few spots are tough to decide on, but this is what I think:
2. Templar: It has a few weak talents in this line. Righteous Striking is a waste of time, enemy mages have a ton of Mana, but not a ton of health. You will kill them before getting rid of their mana. Cleanse Aura is very useful to get rid of a dreaded Curse of Morality or Crushing Prison. Mental Fortress is so-so. It is a big bonus, but very few resistance checks are against mental. I think just the sleep line. Holy Smite is very effective. Giving your warrior precious seconds to close and kill a mage. However, if your own Mage has Mana Clash - this whole spec is not nearly as useful. It also allows you to build a 100% magic resistance warrior - which almost makes Mana Clash a waste!
3. Berserker: +8 Dmg, extra health and stamina regen. Very useful for every warrior. The talent Final Blow is a waste, no warrior wants to blow all his stamina for some paltry extra damage. This spec is almost mandatory for a Dual Weld or Sword & Shield Warrior. Archers get no benefit unless they switch to a melee weapon to activate zerker then switch back to a bow. Kind of an exploit. Two Hand Warriors do not get that much extra mileage out of this spec.
4. Reaver: Devour is good heal. But heal potions are cheap and do not cost you any stamina to use. So not that great. Freightning Appearance is the best Reaver talent by far. It is basically equivalent to a Horror spell. Aura of Pain stinks. Don't use this - ever. Blood Thirst is weak, to get the most out of this talent you have to be nearly dead? And you only get an extra 3-4 points of dmg. Pass on it unless you like to reload a lot or have stacks of injury kits.
With that said I think here is the best specs for Weapon Type:

Sword & Shield: Berserker/Champion or Berserker/Templar - depends if you want to try and make a 100% magic resistance or you do not have many anti-mage abilities.
Dual Weld: Same as the Sword & Shield
2 Hand: Champion/Templar or Champion/Reaver. If you go Reaver only take the first two talents.
Archer: Champion/Templar

1. Clearly Champion, though it's passive bonuses are pretty terrible.

2. Berserker. It has amazing passives: +2 Strength, +10 Health, +3 Health Regen, +1 Stamina Regen (on the console, at least - is there any way to patch the better stats to the PC? My Health Regen build would love +3 instead of +1.5 =X).

3. Reaver above Templar, but only because I don't like to keep track of potions and don't like waiting until 14+ to get good talents. Then again, the only reason why there is no such waiting for Reaver is because those talents are terrible.

4. I'm not a huge fan of Templar unless I am planning on going high spell resistance. As you said, Mana Clash is much better than Holy Smite, and I'd also rather have the ranged, more precise Dispel Magic than the unwieldy AoE Cleanse. I always play with a mage, but if I ever do run a four warrior party or something like that, this would probably shoot up to #1.

Since I never use mana clash, it"s gotta be:

1) champion

2) templar

3) reaver

4) berserker

Champion is best for any warrior, imo. Templar would drop to the bottom if using mana clash. Reaver has at least one very good talent - two if your computer converts dead beasties to corpses quickly. Berserker, I have totally fallen out with. Slow animation and +8 damage quickly becomes trivial.

Fantastic job BC with these "Strongest Specs" threads.

1-Champion: Warcry/Superiority, +10 atk/def buff, nuff said

2-Templar: Magic resist, Holy Smite (non-LoS knockback)

3-Berserker: Lots of damage buff increase but annoying due to rebuff

4-Reaver: Only Frightening Presence is appealing as the rest require microing or specific setups for suboptimal results. Also, the RPer in me doesn't like "evilish" specialization.

@BC: You think you could make one of these for Mages to round it out. Very informative and results is some great forum debates.

If were talking about generalities

Champion, Templar, Berserker, Reaver in that order.

The problem is depending on how you make your characters some specs are going to to be better then others. Like How far up Berserker jumps in a auto attack dagger build, or how champions Rally looks bad and is used less often for the builds that require massive talents spaming.(Usualy requiring micromanament)

All in all though I have to say Templar is a often overlooked choice and its actualy a pretty good spec(The best for what it does actualy, anti-mage)

1. Champion - Unless you are trying for some kind of bizarre challenge you should pick this as one of the specs for your warrior. It has an aoe knockdown with some range that also debuffs attack, along with a sustain that buffs the whole party(and you can stack it with multiple champions).

2. Templar/Reaver - I'm torn on this one to be honest. Cleanse area is a great ability but usually I find that it's the PC that I want to cleanse(making it worthless for me when I'm trapped in a CP). Holy smite can be great situationally but is far less reliable than warcry or even two handed sweep. I like templar as a supplement to my 2handed warrior so that he has 3 aoe knockdowns.

The last two reaver talents are pretty much crap, but to me the second ability makes the entire tree worthwhile. The fear effect from Frightening Appearance will work on almost enemy in the game(and for solid duration too), has a short cooldown, and costs very little stamina. I love this ability specifically for a dual wielder(who lacks reliable crowd control).

4. Berserker - You get extra damage and a little bit of health regen. Compared to the utility that all the other specs provide this is not a good tradeoff. Maybe if you only want to use your warrior to do auto attack damage this would be a good spec, but even then you'll have to constantly reapply the buff(annoying). Final Blow is a waste of stamina and is only good for a 2hander with CGM so that you can get the "Heavy Hitter" achievement

For me Champion is clearly the best of the four due to Rally and WarCry (buffed version for knockdown), so all my warriors become a champion.

My second spec is more a matter of what I need. I enjoy Templar for the extra knockdown, and haven't really really tried Reaver or Berserker that much. Beserker I think is overrated on a 2hander, much better for dualwield or SnS.

Holy smite is very reliable vs. mages as the stun is a physical resistance check - perfect for getting into melee range - and it does not require line of sight.  I've never tried it against other types.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great move. My current warrior is a 2h that is champion/templar. Holy Smite is a good starter in mage fights especially when you can couple it with warcry and 2 handed sweep(and pommel strike....good god the knockdowns). Not to mention I can throw on the Knight Commander's plate and tank very little damage vs Gaxkang, which is a nice little bonus

It's harder to rank Warrior specs since largely what weapon style you take will affect which specs are better than others (since they can lead to severely different styles of play).

Generally, Champion/Templar/Reaver/Berserker though. I appreciate utility, so I don't like Berserker as much. I usually never take Champion myself since others work out just fine with it...so I usually take Templar/Reaver, especially since I tank and go with 2H, so talent spamming is key, which makes Champion subpar.

Also, Reaver is super good if you decide to solo.

For Origins, Champion is my favourite by a mile, followed by Berserker. Templar is pretty solid, I do like holy smite and aoe cleanse. I also like the RP feel of Templar.

Reaver I haven't played, but seems like it would be decent for S/S (The first couple talents anyway). I personally don't like Reaver, but again that's mostly RP reasons.

For awakening though, champion becomes much less useful imo. I went Templar/Berserker (and spirit warrior obv.) as I found I didn't need the AoE knockdown anymore, when I could just massacre and kill everything anyway. The extra attack isn't needed in Awakening either, my hit rate was 100% for awakening with the only +attack buff I had being Nate's SoC (Which is a buff just about every party in awakening should have, except maybe 3-mage groups).
