heyas;

   i thought i was reeeeeeeeeal clever!  i've been using the duplicate command to copy companions and their conversations to my cutscene module.  now i can add dialogue to the cutscene from their main conversation file, but.... when i do so, there's no matching voiceover sound!
   oh, i see.... it reassigned all the lines totally new reference numbers.  :(

  anybody with an idea how to fix this???

(easily? :X )

you can not fix this. you could create your own addin to single player and reuse the single player resources, like the dialogues. i think you could script special entry points for the dialogue so that you are able to fire the correct line.

If I understood what you are trying to do correctly, you can fix it, but not easily. You have to extract wav files from the original fsb files for each conversation you wish to reuse, convert (if necessary) the wavs into PCM 24kHz 16-bit mono wavs, edit the wavs to match the lines (if necessary), rename the wav files using the new reference numbers, redo the voice overs and the facial expressions, and voila.

heyas;

yeah, that's waht i was thinking sk. something like that. but couldnt you just.... mm no, never mind.

semper: how do you create an add-in??  is this different from sticking something in the override?  and once that is created, how/where is the cutscene to edit?

okay, NEW plan... is there a way to, say, export the conversation files to the override (or move them to core_resources?? (i tried duplicating, that renumbered them too)) so that other modules can access the lines with sound and VO intact?

alternately, is there another workaround? ie: somehow importing the cutscene into the single player module to access and play the lines, then make the cutscene play?
--keep in mind, i'm not trying to create a module or an add-in to any module. i'm just making machinima, and if i can get the thing to play so i can capture it, i'm good. :)
