IGN says - dedicated Jump Button for Jumping Attacks?  Ewwww is this confirmed? A friggin Jump button?  Even action RPGs removed that after BGDA1 since it was unrealistic and pointless.  Other than goofy jumping attacks JRPG style

unrealistic? i'm sorry, what?

pointless? allow me a moment to recall my khajit monk from oblivion, dude had acrobatics maxxed, dude could jump from the ground onto high castle walls and dominate like a ninja, dude was the coolest rpg character dude has EVER rolled, and ALL because of the jump...

obviously it's never going to happen in a bioware game, they're too fond of blocking your way with a nice view or a low fence, and funneling you from one scenario to the next, can't have people jumping over the wall and running wild over the countryside, i mean that's just crazy... "that's not rpging, that's just rah rah rah rah..."

you should be safe enough.

You realize your "Cat Monk lulz!" in oblivion has nothing to do with DA2?  TES games are not even the same Genre as DA  (first person free roam vs. linear party based 3rd person tactical)

Yes, being able to do super jumps in TES Is cool (Way cooler in Morrowind than Oblivion)  but that isn't want DA2 is at all.

It's not an "acrobatics" skill and Agility allowing you to craft your own character in a free roaming RPG.

It's JUMPING ATTACKS - BAD ASS style God of War/ Japanese action game style.   It won't even remotely resemble anything TES

In regards to the Original topic question.

1. Having the overall art feel like an ‘Oblivion’ or ‘Lord of the Rings’ rip-off, which the early screens seem to indicate.

2. A boring or overly cliché story, which isn’t a huge concern of mine given Bioware’s track record.

3. The whole game just coming off as an EA attempt to rake in the bucks with a strong series rather than a wonderfully long and epic tale such as DA:O.

4. Finally, my greatest worry for DA2 is lack of same-sex romance, as was the case in ME2 and the utterly ridiculous ‘romance’ that they gave us in the form of Kelly Chambers, just no.

Don’t flame me for this, the same-sex romance was a large part of what drew me to Bioware games, as I’d never been given the option before.

Orson Scott Card joining the writing team.

WHY!
I haven't read his comic for it but his other books are fantastic.!

Now for my fears:
-stupid voice actor for hawke
- black hawke (hehehe)
- cel shading
- not enough impact from DA import
- Artistic style straying too far from the original so much it doesn't make any sense that origins and this were going on at the same time
- Reused voice actors
- Gay romace
- lack of deep choices

I myself want it to become more "Dragon effect".  But i want ****** to be a good balance taking the best from both DA and ME.

My Fears:

-Losing Party control over some implementation of tactics. This happened with ME1.

-"Gotcha" moments like the Dark Ritual, where it reduces the player to feeling like a bit player in some grander scheme

-Lack of a defined antagonist or otherwise flat and boring resolution (like in DA:O)

My greatest fear? They take the DA2 approach with Mass Effect 3. otherwise DA2 can sod off for all I care, soon as I heard the hours I put into the first Dragon Age and then into Awakening would mean crap all in the second game. That sold me on not buying it :D

That there'll be nothing to explore anymore. To be honest, DA:O didnt offer many places to explore, but still a little bit. For me, exploration is a key element of the RPG genre. I love it to pick up every stone and explore the edge of the map, especially when you get rewarded with some nice views, mysterious buildings/ruins or some rare/good looking items.

Swords that look like the Keening Edge are another thing I fear- who in the name of all that is holy would walk into battle with that thing?

That it'll be Mass Effect in the DA universe.

Every time I read this, I picture Sten locking a low-friction magazine of custom-tooled, lyrium-enhanced, explosive-tipped bolts into his four-foot long, belt-fed asssault cannon which he has dubbed "The Arishok." It has flames down the side.

Late to the game, but I bet this is going to be the next Blood Dragon Armor type crossover item.

My greatest fear is that not many people will buy it and then Bioware won't make a Dragon Age: Origins 2 where I can play as a Qunari warrior. :) (I am definitely buying it though just waiting for the ability to pre-order the collectors edition.)

My fear is that it might be a bit to short, if this is the cause tho then I'll just wait when the cost of the game goes down in price!

My biggest fear? I want my choices in Origins to have mattered. I'm not saying the Warden should still get all the glory, but based on what he/she did, I want what they promised and show how the world's be changed forever. I want that sense of catharsis.
I would kill for a scene that shows that my Warden and Alistair at least got something close to happily ever after... I'd also like to know what happened to the rest of the companions. I'm totally fine with the idea of a new game, and a shiny new protagonist, but I hope they handle the previous events and choices with respect, and gives us some closure on the original cast.

I guess after thinking some more about it, my greatest fear for the game is the lack of replayability that is inherent in Mass Effect 1 & 2 porting over into Dragon Age 2. Over the past 10 or so months I've played Dragon Age: Origins for what is approaching 260 hours across 4-5 characters (all dwarves). DA:O was a dream come true in terms of character creation, storyline, individual choices and your character's history affecting your present. My greatest fear is that by being forced to play Hawke, my desire to play through the game for a second time will be non-existant as there's very little you can vary on the same character. Also, I absolutely love Dwarves, to a wierd obsessive degree in games, and DA:O's dwarven race to me are perfect. I have an irrational fear that the developers will tinker with them too much and change them too much so that they're no longer the magnificent bastards they currently are. On the other hand, I like how they're changing the appearance of male and female dwarves to better reflect their physical differences.

I genuinely hope that Varric is an awesome NPC, as he is a dwarf and therefore already has his party spot booked. I hope that the adventures into the Deep Roads are long, dark, grim and full of danger and excitement, hopefully with a nice visit to Kal-Sharok, which I'm praying lives up to, or exceeds Orzammar if we get to go there.
