My greatest fear is that it will feel like one giant sidequest and unrelated to the main story experience. Kinda like Ass Defect 2, I mean Mass Effect 2.
Also what's with these constant Pessimistic threads? Seriously , we beat ourselves down until the game comes out.
Why does everyone think ME2's plot was unrelated to ME1's plot? I mean, honestly? It's still about the Reapers.

You can choose your gender. We've known this since the game was announced.

Also, no character banter

The writers have implied there's still banter and have said that it's their favorite thing to write.

Still dreading that it might be removed to follow Activision's latest annoucement that they will not be having any female leads in their games.
All part of making games even more appealing for males only.

I trust the source, he knows that I have issues playing games with male only leads and no gender choice. From what he mentioned Activision has decided that none of their games will feature a female lead, likely due to the female gamer demographic being less than that of males and male gamers being uncomfortable with playing as a female character.
And that it could also be that it takes extra time to make a female lead, when with a male lead they can just slap together some already done personality, make him look generic and the usual kind of male character and get the game out a lot quicker to make faster profits.
Sounds like a normal thing from them.

Guess I'm a male in the minority then, because I prefer playing a female character on the PC. Why? Because it seems that 99.9% of all cool mods made for PC games are made for the females.

I had no idea Activision had decided to no longer have female leads. o_o; Even though I don't think I have any of their games, I doubt I'll ever buy any now. :/
From the article I found it doesn't sound like anything official. Just something the company is 'discouraging' its developer teams from pursuing.

Actually, the polls I've seen on these boards of which gender usually favor females, from both sides on these boards.
Also, it's because we girls care about our hair and makeup and clothes and romance.

Thanks.
I'm still not worried--ditching option to be female doesn't seem like something BW would do.

Which whining masses?

You're in the majority. Pretty much every female character I see in games are male players who think their characters are "omfg hawt".
Example: Blood Elves.
