My greatest fear is that it will feel like one giant sidequest and unrelated to the main story experience. Kinda like Ass Defect 2, I mean Mass Effect 2.

Also what's with these constant Pessimistic threads? Seriously , we beat ourselves down until the game comes out.

Why does everyone think ME2's plot was unrelated to ME1's plot? I mean, honestly? It's still about the Reapers.

Because it felt like a giant ass sidequest. And I didn't say it was unrelated to the main story; I said it was unrelated to the main story EXPERIENCE.

Actually, now that someone brings romance up, I don't want sex scenes while my character wears diapers - fade to black or nekid boobs.

Yeah if you are going to include sex scenes, include sex scenes. None of this dumb rubbing up against each other not-even-softcore stuff. I am positive you can find someone who can do a really steamy love scene without showing any bewbs if that' what gets the censors all worked up.

So, in your opinion, giving two examples of why Mormons are not the greatest is ignorance? I understand that mine isn't that great, but you're going to tell Slim she is ignorant?

Er, why would I need to give two examples, exactly?

We gave the examples. Well, yes, you are right, but at the same time, it is a bit ignorant of you to imply that Slim doesn't have more say in this topic than, say, Francisco.

My greatest fear is that DA2 will feel more like an interactive-novel than a role playing game.

As I don't control what my character says, I only choose the intent, I fear that instead of feeling like I'm playing my character it will feel instead like I'm watching their character.

I fear that every time BioWare jumps forward in time or tells the story from a different point of view that I will feel less and less ownership of the character.

I play role playing games to create my character and make choices for my character,  I'm not that interested in playing a game that feels like those old adventure novels "Flip to page 44 to see what happened to Hawke!"

I know that the talented and hard working team at BioWare will produce an excellent narrative with with amazing characters, but I fear that with so little control I will be detached from Hawke and that I won't care happens to him.

Alodar :)

I also fear that they'll take a exceptionally fun magic system and make it more like Mass Effect where instead of  having  all those excellent spell trees to choose from and being able to choose Flame Blast, Flaming Weapons, Fire Ball and Inferno I would only get to choose  Fire Ball level 1, Fire Ball level 2 (with increased damage), Fire Ball level 3 (With increased knockback radius) and Fire Ball level 4 (Choose more damage or bigger knockdown Radius.

I just have a weird feeling it will truly end up being mainstreamed. That and a mormon writer? Lol.

Reminds me of this video:

I didn't play female but most female origins
tend to have the character try to be involved with somebody (or.. to
actually be involved).

Human Noble - Darrian (males had that elf maid)

City Elf - (the entire plot involves this for both sides, though the female one's involvement is a lot better)

Dalish - Tamlen

Mage - Cullen / Jowan

Dwarf Commoner - Leske

Dwarf Noble - Gorim

Actually, I liked the female City Elf fiance better--he died for you, and you got to wear the wedding ring he made for you. The chick just dumps you.

Jowan says that he might have been interested in you had you shown interest in him, but you're like a sister now.

You can hit on him. :D He gets flustered (in an older gentleman way) and says it wouldn't be appropriate. You, of course, do this in front of your father.

ME1. I know of no other game that does it better.

TW2 looks rather sexy too, from what I've seen: Triss magically melting her clothing off is cool. Much better than the sex cards.

Truth is, DA2 and TW2 are my two games to buy for next year. I'm pretty well convinced already.

I know it exists, but I've never encountered it on my XBox 360 version--I have yet to see if I'll get it on my PC version. I've also never managed to get the Morrigan taunting Alistair for breaking up with you after the Landsmeet conversation.

Er, why would I need to give two examples, exactly?

Also, I never said anyone was ignorant, I only implied they were being hypocritical. But, to rebuke that thought, yes, it is ignorant of her to think that, even if she is or was mormon, because not all mormons are necessarily like those that surrounded her before that caused her to lose her faith.

I don't know who that guy is, or what he has done to get people so riled up, and I'm sure he is capable of defending himself in an arguement, but I think it's silly to think that all mormons are just like him and ought to be grouped together under one big generalization.

This is largely off topic.

As the first person to tell Mr. Card to go **** himself I suppose it is my fault. If you would like to know who Mr. Orson Scoot Card is he is the guy who wrote the Ender's Game series. He's also a Holocaust apologist, gay basher and all around self righteous ******. He's also a fine example of the kind of individuals the Church of Latter Day Saints produces and the philosophy it preaches.

I fear that the implementation of the dialogue wheel will eliminate roleplaying the same way it did in Mass Effect.
Now, that said, ME2 does it considerably better than ME does, so as long as BioWare continues to improve that feature things should be manageable (though I still think the voice will inhibit replayability)

At least we know about the icon system that's coming tagged along with it and the removal of the "Up is good / middle is meh / down is bad" system.

I'm not sure the icon system is a good thing.  And Mass Effect's morality system was terribly implemented - if I'd actually known what Paragon and Renegade meant I might have been able to use the wheel more effectively.

Yeah but it's still a chance for your character to show romantic interest. :x It's like every female origin needs to flirt.

I don't see where you guys gave examples Image IPB

In either case that was moot, because like I said, I'm calling you hypocrits. Furthermore, I never said nor implied that anyone elses opinion weighed more or less than someone elses. Let me rephrase everything in smaller words so it's easier to understand.

1)i know you guys don't like Mr. Card, but it's really not fair for you to generalize that all mormon are like him. when you say that, it makes you guilty of broad generalizations - something Mr. Card is also apparently guilty of

2)i realize that Slim may is, or was a mormon, and she (he?) may have grievances with that faith, but i think it's silly that she (he?) thinks all mormons will act the same way as those that have caused her greivances in the first place.

Basically, it's not good to generalize people, and when you do, you are just as guilty as the people you are critising.

and before you ask, yes, i've met mormons before. 1 or 2, and they seemed like nice enough people.

As the first person to tell Mr. Card to go **** himself I suppose it is my fault. If you would like to know who Mr. Orson Scoot Card is he is the guy who wrote the Ender's Game series. well that's all fine and dandy, but my point still stands that it's silly to think that all the people who belong to that parish will be exactly like him.

i'm catholic, but that doesn't mean i go around and rape underaged boys just because a few prominent priests got caught with their robes undone.

It will have replay value for me because I get to replay Hawke with 101 different names, Moe, Smellies, Sweaties, Meesings, and of course Mike.

On a serious note, we haven't even PLAYED IT YET! It's kind of like saying The Last Airbender will suck before it was released... But then again, it did suck. Hmmm.

I take it you are not very familiar with how the Church of Latter Saints works? It's a lot like the Westboro Baptists Church only a little more streamlined and without the hate for armed services personnel. It really is a very monolithic group, hence why I think slim used 'collective' when describing her break from the church.

Of course, I can't speak for her.

I'm sure no one thinks all mormons take after Card. Judging from its political activism it is a safe bet that Church at least does.

@Thief-of-Hearts.

I was raised Mormon and not of my own volition (had trouble voicing dissent at the age of two)

I make no apologies for voicing that dissent now, but it was off topic, my error. Mormons are swell. Really. Guess I feel somewhat entitled given my background.

And with all my perverted remarks on this forum, I would have thought everyone had me pegged for a man.
