Since my no-reload ended decided for a change of pace.

I tried to solo a fighter/druid for BG 1 (with reloads). Here is my setup:

BG 1
Tales of the Sword Coast expansion
Official TotSC patch
Core Rules, including on level ups
No Mods
Experience Cap in place

I wasn't 100% sure he could do it with no bow and with the experience cap in place, but he managed to do it as you can see here:

Here is his final character sheet:

Was thinking of having him try to solo BG 2 too, but not sure how that would go...

Very nice.

Did you do the TOTSC areas? How much of the non-essential areas in the game did you go through?

Does anyone else get bugged by the letter 8 in the Baldur's Gate 1 font? Looks too much like a 2 to be, bah!

I recently just completed Baldur's Gate myself as a fighter/druid, although not solo, and no no-reload. They're pretty fun, had the component where fighter/druid's can't wear fighter armour installed. Thank god for Ankheg armour.

No, did not do the TotSC areas. I started clearing the areas at the bottom of the map and worked my way up. At one point had both Sirene Maps, Basilisk map, Zhentarim mages map left, but didn't do them mostly as I was at my experience cap by that point and then just worked on the main quest only, except to get upgrades. I did stop at the Sirene map to get the constitution manual (using greenstone amulet and monster summoning 1 distractions) and also took down the adventuring party on the Basilisk map to get the anti-slashing belt.

Once I got to Baldur's Gate, I got Balduran's Helmet, the +2 ring from Razamith, did the quest for the Tymora father to get his dead boy back to upgrade my shield, got the DEX tome from the thief's guild and that was it for city of Baldur's Gate quests that I did. Then just did the main quest. For most of the game weapon was the +2 poisoned dagger from Thunderhammer Smithy. I also had to use the +3 martial staff against slimes as piercing weapons don't work on the slimes.

I only fought when I had to in the Cloakwood, bypassed almost everthing there except did take down Drassus and company for the haste boots. Used invisibility ring as much as I could to bypass fights and go straight to Daveorn. Daveorn was difficult but managed to get him on my first try. Tried to rest but kept getting ambushed so decided to try it without resting and managed to beat the battle horrors, but had to use a lot of potions not surprisingly. Once Daveorn was dead had about 1/2 life and out of heal potions and healing spells. He charmed me but fortunately your game isn't over in BG 1 when you get charmed.

For Iron throne 5th floor battle my prep was protection from magic and firing Necklace of Missiles. Had tough time killing anyone for some reason, so ended up meleeing everyone to death, only had a sliver of life left but did it first try. Was thankful for my 83 HP (78 without Helm of Balduran).

Candlekeep Crypts only fought the spiders to get to STR tome (which incidentally I couldn't get. I had the 24 STR potion but that wasn't enough apparently I did need the carnival potion). So ended up going invisible past dopplegangers/prat/basilisks. I also fought my way to just before the Skeletal warriors in the thieve's maze, buffed with protection from fire & lightnining, used invisibility potion, then ran rest of the way to Undercity. I kept running past Iron Throne party there and rested outside the Temple of Bhaal then entered to duel Sarevok.

When I was soloing as a monk I did successfully get the tome with 24 strength.  Admittedly it took quite a few attempts (I think about 12) so obviously a fairly low % chance per attempt.
