Anybody working on, or having any luck converting the SC2 models to nwn or nwn2?
I'm working with them, but having trouble exporting them from gMax and 3ds Max.

Would the polycounts not be awfully high to use for NWN?

Probably not if you're just sticking to the buildings and units from the game itself, and not cutscene models. They're pretty darn low-poly, actually.
@OP: Nobody is that I'm aware of. Good luck with your conversion, though!

@OP: I would think the main issue would be to import them in Max. Have you solved that issue yet?
If it's solved, I can't see how Exporting can be the trouble. Do you mind to develop?

I have them imported, got a script from an SC2 forum. Just having trouble getting them to nwn format. I found out that i'm supposed to put in the aurora base, link it all together, and then export it, but i'm trying to find the steps to do that

Sheesh, are any game's art resources safe from the NWN modding community?

I think that's the beauty of NWN. If you have the right tools and NWN knowledge of models any game resource is likely to show up in NWN at some point.
In some cases it may not be entirely legal, and some people may not be as enthusiastic about the idea as the person doing the conversion. Regardless, it will still happen.

Oh, it doesn't bother me at all - it's just that the thought of a popular "RTS sci-fi hak" appearing on the NWN Vault less than a month after Starcraft 2's release is amusing in a dark sort of way.
Any screenshots of the models?

@OP: The real quick answer to your question is just: link all mesh to an aurorabase, then select that aurora base, and export (with NWMax at least)
If the model is ok, and texture in TGA, at least you should be able to open and see it in NWExplorer.

The textures are dds.
Can you give me a quick tutorial on linking the mesh? When I try to export with nwmax, it gives me the mesh error that was supposed to be fixed by linking it, but apparently i don't know how to do that.
*shrug*
Thanks.

You'll have to convert the dds from SC2 to TGA's. The "dds" used by NWN is not the same, and yours won't work =)
About linking and such, take a look at this video http://nwvault.ign.c...s.Detail&id=184
Its way outdated now, but still has the linking part and such right.
To export, instead of doing what is shown in the video, just select the base, and in the right panel choose "export".
