1) Last I checked, most countries do have laws against it. Just because some half-lawless third world slab of land doesn't care about it doesn't neccessarily make it "okay". Also, even countries that do seem more lenient to the idea still draw the line at direct blood relations, particularly between siblings and parents/children.Spear-Thrower wrote...
Mass orgies were legendary in Rome - so it's no stretch that incest was involved.Kimarous wrote...
My point was that you SHOULDN'T believe everything you see in television! Try reading actual f***ing history!
I think people should remember that incest is not illegal in every country. It's one of the last taboos to be broken.
Do I want a Bethany/Hawke romance? No, but it's not quite as bad as the moral outrage in this thread. Last I checked murder is illegal, but you kill countless people in these games - and not always in self defense. A bit of the old ultraviolence never hurts though.
Murder = Good
Incest = Bad
2) Just because a taboo CAN be broken doesn't mean it SHOULD be broken.
3) Sex and violence are completely seperate, inequatable things. Don't even bother trying to convince us otherwise.
4) Are you seriously trying to defend this?
1) You might want to check your facts. Several countries in Europe decriminalized incest - and these aren't third world slabs of land. The only line drawn is marraige or an adult/minor relationship. What consensual adults do in private is not really the state's business. These countries understand that.
2) Yeah, but it will be broken eventually, whether you like it or not. Consensual adults won't be prosecuted and is already happening now. Depends where you live I guess.
3) So you're basically saying that violence is good, and that incest, despite no one getting hurt, is bad? Games glorify murder and death - they revel in it - but a decision made by two consenting adults is somehow a great sin?
4) See point 3
