What do people want/expect from Varric in the trailer tomorrow?

I'd expect a lot of humor, though perhaps drier than, say, Alistair. From what little we know of him, he seems like a real class act, which would lead to something really quite deep, I imagine.

Plus, it'd be much appreciated if femHawke climb up onto the stone throne. The actual throne, mind you, hahaha.

I believe I read somewhere that Varric "traveled" with Hawke, which I assume means he's a companion at some point in the game.

Well, actually, since he was born in Kirkwall and referred to as a "merchant prince," I don't think he'd travel with Hawke only to peddle his wares. If anything, he has something he needs from/wants from Hawke or offers his help with a more physical presence in the party.

The reason I want both game play and a cinematic trailer is to see what they do with Varric.  I realize the CGI trailer isn't what I see in my head, but I'd like to see that Merchant-Prince smirk while eying Cassandra's annoyed expression.

Varric: I need a bodyguard for the road. I'm going to visit some of the cities near Kirkwall, try to pick up a few customers.
Hawke: Okay...

Varric: *aside* With this idiot as my bodyguard, I'll be able to escape any bandits/assassins that attack on the road. Hehehehe... And I can continue ripping off that idiot Crow assassin... A new definition of merchant "prince" for sure...
Hawke: Hey buddy, are you talking to me?

Varric: *aside* Now I can finally get some of that Bethany action! Mm! I just need to trick this other Hawke into doing something for a few hours...

Well. It depends entirely when or how he meets up with Hawke. He might be following Hawke because he's trying to get the Champion of Kirkwall's fame to sort of rub off on him or because he's kicked out of the merchant business from Kirkwall and goes with Hawke because he has no where else to go.

Or maybe he's just bored.

I like the bored idea. You do have a good point, though. I really do wish we knew more about him, but I suppose there's no reason we should know more, considering how far it is until release. Sigh. 

And now I have to go to bed so I can wake up and watch the conference stream. HURRAH.

I'm sure it'll be up on YouTube. Either that, or with the influx of other gaming sites picking up info/recording things, you'll get all the info in a neat little package without having to bother.

You don't want to mess with Varric when he's focused. Because not even slaying dragons can cure his bouts of boredom.
