But, yeah, I think it'll be the former. Unless they have Varric's VO on super speed dial.

Not sure how the world of voice acting works but couldn't they record a few lines of him saying something like "Oh... I almost forgot, Hawke then traveled to... *zoom ingame on Hawke walking*"? A few variation of that line could probably work for all DLC should they follow that route.

Hasnt it been stated that varric wont be the only narrarator?

Well, I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for creating thousands of unique looking NPCs. I'm sure more than a dozen of them will be fugly.

Anecdotal examples are generally crap but I don't think VAs are all that hard to get ahold of, and if they're out of town or something there are still ways to get the job done. A friend told me that the voice actor for Aang stopped by her brother's studio since he couldn't get to the Nick studio and did the job there. He left the script, which she passed on to me, ohoho. I fangirled for a while. And knew some intense spoilers for a few weeks.

I see. But in the case of Dlc maybe their just wont be any narration?

I'm pretty sure it's possible to write a program/script/I-don't-know to generate them randomly,.

Oh, I see things like this being possible.

It's just we'd be getting stuff like this and then the trolls would be praising how beautiful Varric is.

Hitting the "random" button on any character creator tends to make some god-awful creations--and those are usually limited to preset faces and hairs. Still...I'd rather not see ten million identical soldiers. Different hair would help.

I'd like for Hawke to have her/his own unique hair. Some hairstyles are ruined for me when a major NPC has them. My favorite hairstyles are Isolde's and Leliana's, but I associate them too closely with their characters. Anora's hair is nearly intolerable to me.

Eek. Maybe random with constraints? Random with some interns doube-checking and tweaking the results?

I think that screenshot should be the "And see the pretty bride" one. Or the "You look radiant" one.

You think the random button in Da:O's is bad?

Try Fallout 3's. :sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick:

Everytime I see Alistair's hair on an NPC I expect snarky comments. I am usually disappointed.... except by that Calenhad dock guy.

Also OH THE TOPIC

PS. Varric

I know. I liked his hair, since it was the only clean-cut style we had for guys.

I wonder if Varric's hair is an option?

Oblivion kinda failed with faces in general though. Speaking of, in the final scene (don't know if it's different depending on the ending, but I had the Queen Cousland sparkles and rainbows ending because I'm lonely) I could not help but think of Oblivion when you get that shot of Alistair at a flat angle to the left, and the rest of the scene blurry in the background. Ruined the moment. Having my friends raise eyebrows at me for my fantasy marriage contributed to the ruinage too, but it was mostly Flat Oblivion Angle Alistair.

So yes, the topic... I hope DA adopts some tasty cinematic angles so that we may feast our eyes upon our hirsuite dwarven friend with much epicness.

I really like that shot. It was unique in the game. Would have liked it better if that expression of adoration was limited to a PC he loved, and not just any Warden.

Looking at it again I think my issue with it is that he's looking at the player, not the player character. Technically you are the PC, but the PC is the one he interacts with. He doesn't look at you when he's giving the PC a rose, when he's probing for approval, etc etc... but this? I felt like, where's the character I spent 40 hours on? She's the star, here, I just made her save everybody. And I really like her tattoos...

And looking at the camera? AH AH OW FOURTH WALL FALLING ON TOP OF ME... which is usually great but like I said, the most important character is missing from this scene.

PS: Varric
I'm going to keep adding that until we exhaust this topic and get back to less thread-closing risky topics. The death of this thread would make me sad.

Excusing the problems with height, to me it just felt like, for the first and only time, you're seeing the world through the PCs eyes. Very cool moment, for me.

Please tell me you're paying a bit more attention to non-party NPCs, BioWare. No more Mardys and Cammens plz

F*****************CK!!.... No.

Going back to this VARRIC dwarf girl, if VARRIC her nose was a lot VARRIC bigger, she'd look just like VARRIC Barbara Streisand. VARRIC.

That's a good point. Didn't feel that way for me, but what's a minute of weirdness for two days worth of lulz and men, albeit men who are not real, who are just jumping to tell you intimate details of their lives and get into your tent. (I'd say "men and women" but Morrigan was... reluctant.)

Well neither does adding "P.S. Varric." But I figure it's worth a shot.

I think Varric would be... As an LI... Not like an Orzammar dwarf that thinks it's okay to have mistresses on the side like the nobles do in Orzammar. And definitely not like Oghren. I think he'd be suave, and a bit growly at times... I can see him being a bit devil-may-care out in front of others, but then a big lovable ****cat in private. If that makes any sense at all.

I honestly have no idea what he'd be like as an LI, having no idea what his personality is really like.
