I meant it in the way that they probably wont have the caste system, and they are untraditional. As hinted by the dialog that one of the heads of the noble houses, L-something can't remember his name, has with Endrin at your feast during the DN origin. It was considered lost, yes. When they drew back to Orzammar, the tunnels connecting Kal'Sharok with the Orzammar and presumably the surface were collapsed to hinder the darkspawn. Later they managed to surface.

It has been described as the Pegasus to Orzammars Galactica by Gaider.

Edit: Though admittedly, they would probably not have too much contact with the surface.

Varric being the head of a network of spies is also pretty intersting, since it helps explain how Varric knows so much about Hawke. Although he wasn't there when Hawke flees Lothering, he probably had quite the "conversation" with Bethany and perhaps the elder Hawkes.

There is that one Dwarf in Dust Town who says "I'm-a gonna fall into the sky." It sounded really weird with just an American accent.

Antiva is like Italy's city states. Zevran speaks with a Spanish accent but the language spoken Italian, IIRC.

What was the general reaction to Varic's actual in-game appearance. I'm curious how fangirls are going to react to his less then sexy true appearance. I however, dig the look. Looks like more of a scoundral than a 80's porn star.

We've already discussed this over and over again. We've seen his in-game appearance through one screenshot. One awkwardly posed screenshot that isn't even that clear. Even still, most of us don't have a problem with his in-game appearance, as we've yet to see him move and yet to hear him speak.

One thing you should learn about "fangirls" is that even if the character's sodding gorgeous, if they have the personality of a wet paper bag and the voice of nails on a scratchboard, their looks don't matter. The opposite is true, as well.

Akwardly posed... lol he's looking dead strait at the camera. It's in no way akward. And he may be sneering a bit, but last time I checked, a good looking guy isn't going to suddenly look like an ape when he has a slight sneer.

By the way I never got on it just found out theres an ingame pic.

"Get off it" is a phrase.

Also, you're quite wrong. An intriguing personality can easily win over fangirls if they're paired with a nice voice. The Architect is one of the more ghastly designs in the Dragon Age universe. He's got fangirls. Justice has fangirls. Even Oghren has fangirls. In the Mass Effect universe, there are tons of women who get all flushed and giddy over turians, and they're basically avian dinosaurs. Varric isn't even ugly. Even if he was, with what we know of him, that wouldn't matter quite so much as you're assuming.

Well the mere mention of him being less then attractive seemed to get your panties in a twist. Doesn't do much for your "looks don't matter" stand.

Of course every companion is going to have some female fans. You know very well thats not what I mean... or you should. I'm talking about FANGIRLS, the kind that like alistair because of his looks, voice, ect. The kind of fangirls who wouldn't like him if he looked like Oghren. And you know they exist in large numbers.

PS- Don't get offended by me focusing on girls, guys are even worse than girls when it comes to judgeing female characters based off looks.

Nah, Varric is most likley gonna be the new Sten. As sten turned out looking nothing like his cinematic counter part.

He looks like a sleazy troll to me. He's definitely channeling some of Ron Jeremy or Larry Flint's essence though, and that's not a compliment.
