Could anybody (please) draw something dramatic that makes the player feel bad when they get a Game Over? Something like the concept art but instead the light shines on a bloodied donut necklace / jacket?

There's a lot of talented people in this thread. Anything that invokes loss / dread in the player is good enough.

Er, is Super Varric World off topic? It probably is, so... I'm guessing when you finish Varric's loyalty quest, he gets a snazzy new coat. The coat will probably look like his old one, but with better stats.

I'm keeping the same last boss so it won't lose it's awesome. There will be a lot of references to this thread and the forums as a whole, hopefully a lot of you know things from the old forums.
I've got an idea about what to do with the writers and how to put them in the game but I don't know... I won't promise anything. (That and I only know of David / Mary / Sheryl / Luke, I don't want to leave the others out.)

Perhaps an irritated Cassandra would be appropriate? Then again, that might not fit into the game's story?
The (stupid) storyline is set before the Cassandra interrogation. I'd like to see it as a story set after Origins, during a time-skip of DA2 while Varric isn't chilling with Hawke.

A wild Aimo could appear and use art to dazzle enemies and their eyes would turn to hearts, it would be super effective!

UNTRUE
Totally transparent fabrication.
How do we know?
Chest hair.
Zoltan hasn't any (or he's ashamed of it ). Go ahead, search for an image...
Case - Closed.

Look at his palms, 'tis a dwarf that is not ashamed to get his hands dirty when need be!

And why do you think his JERKIN is so puffed? Chest covered with strong, masculine hair I tell ya!

So merely a dirty pleb?
It is like the difference between James Bond and Kurt Wallander.

You've got to have some style too.

And you say Bond has style? Jumping around in the same tuxedo for years, all show no substance!James Bond and Kurt Wallander
Besides, if not for his toys he'd be dead a thousand times already I say! Only thing he does goo is ordering a drink, some trademark!
Who would you take into the battle to stand by your side? A dwarf or Varric? ;P

Pfft of course Bond has style. Tuxedos are classic, which means they never go out of style. And you could say the same thing about Batman and his toys but it doesn't mean he's not a badass. Even Superman has respect for Batman.
And I'd take Varric, naturally. Even if all he did was sit on the sidelines and be the shortest, hairiest, most sardonic cheerleader ever.
Edit: although I do dig that dwarf's mohawk and I always like a Scottish accent.

On a serious note, I like'em both as concepts, cheer-dwarf and killer-dwarf alike. Zoltan gets my vote though, Varric was designed for women methinks, so I'll say I like the tough mercenary better

Ask Aimo, being short has its benefits lol...
but yeah most dwarfs are like Ogren... drunk and smelly
Varric on the other hand... and with that chest hair... so intoxicating lol

Good news everyone!
I've written the entire game down, the plot points and such! There will be five to six "chapters", each with it's own unique theme that I've tested to make sure work [and they do]. I've created the introduction of the game itself and it works wonders.
I hope to god somebody else catches all the video game references I throw in the game or I'll feel like a fool, there's a bajillion references already and I've got another bajillion planned.

The enemy's arrows bounce right off of Varric because the dwarf is so epic and awesome.
I think this should be implemented. Varric should be immune to missile attacks 'cause he's just too damn awesome.
Also, he sounded like Bramhill. I think my subconscious is trying to tell me to stfu.

Something
that just occured to me: Varric would be one of the most amazing old
men/Dwarf/grandfathers of all time. His charisma would only grow with
age, and he'd be great at telling old stories of his past exploits to
the little 'uns!
Edit: Now I am picturing Varric in Peter Falk's role in the Princess Bride. Mind unraveling so soon...
The Sean Connery of dwarves?
(I can now totally see Varric as Columbo going off on one of his tangents XD)
Cassandra: (cassandra disapproves image)

Watch any old Bond movie. Sean's got enough hair to almost reach Varric's level.
I'm late replying, but <3 to you both
