@Mary: Yaaay another Varric dialog! Does he give people Sawyeresque nicknames? I wonder what he calls Hawke. If I were Varric I'd call Hawke "Scrappy". Is this confirmation that Mysterious Pirate Girl is, in fact, a pirate? What scent does he prefer for his leave-in conditioner?

@Dave: I may give some of your requests a shot on Monday if no one else beats me to it.

Also I don't know what Gary Oldman is doing in this thread but I like it.

Mary's post is intriquing... What did Varric mean by quitting? He had a family? He tried it but forsake them? Varric wanted dead by some people doesn't come off as a surprise, but it's interesting that Varric knows the unnamed pirate.

I got the impression of "quitting used tropes" or more likely just deflecting a question that is so unrelated to him that it wasn't worth answering.
