I hope he sounds more refined than Leske. Leske was suave, but he didn't really have that charm or the breeding to back it up. Varric on the other hand has breeding and can spin wild tales, so I'm hoping he'll be well spoken, with that voice that is a bit gritty, but still smooth enough to make your toes curl.

Brian Bloom is Varric? Bloody awesome.  He's one of my favorite voice actors. Way to go namedforthemoon!

Well Leske IS an idiot but his voice is pretty smexy.

But Leske's personality was more... thuggish(?) and it showed in the voice acting, I'm sure a charming voice in that vein is entirely possible.

I find Dwyn somewhat more gruff-sounding. while Leske is a bit lighter and less gravelly/growly (at least that's the difference as I perceive it). In any case, I'm good with whatever he does as Varric - whee!!!

I'd be happy with Brian Bloom.  Leske was one of my favourite characters that I actually got pissed off and upset when he betrayed me as a dwarf commoner

The thread is just THAT damn good!  The little tidbits of info of his personality that you leave us just gave us a mental idea of what he sounded like and then the late night crowd (Namedforthemoon et al...have to give credit where credit is due) did the hard work after we started discussing who would make a good VO for the character
