Well, there's a chance if you play Lady Hawke you might be able to experience the Dwarven Awesomeness directly...
That will be the main reason to choose either sex on the first gameplay.
I was very sad when I found out that my casteless noble huntress couldn't romance Oghren.
If he hadn't been drunk that one time in camp....ah, but if wishes were horses
We wouldn't have any.
Hmmm... probably

Well, and I can't speak for Dave, but it was only two towns with a half dungeon that wasn't even finished. I only feel I can speak about it because Dave didn't say that I couldn't. So I hope I'm not doing anything that would get me kicked off the QA team. The overworld map was fun, the random combat was random but not a chore (like in FF7), and the leveling system was good (I prefer being able to place skill/stat points, but this isn't supposed to be a huge game anyway). I grinded until I got enough money to buy that ****ing Longsword from the Vendor, because I wanted it.
The humor in the game, already, is fantastic, primarily because it uses forum in-jokes so well. It didn't go overboard on the Varric Ridiculousness, as it could have, but when it does - let's just say that there are glorious, glorious, ungodly horrible consequences to messing with Varric. The item descriptions are classic.
The serious parts of the game work well, too, simply because Dave has fleshed his world out so well (I had qualms with the balance between the humor and seriousness in some areas, but I assume those will work out by release). Dave is making a fangame within the context of the DA world, but he is also making it his own. I love how he makes almost every "big name" around the forums one Token RPG Character or another. And they work so well in context. So well. Dave is a fantastic writer.
I liked it and I feel superior to all of you that I'm on the QA team.
One last thing: the Maker. Possibly the best character ever. That is all.

I don´t know if devs have already answered this, but is Hawke´s combat prowess the only thing Varrick goes over the top? For example, does he also exaggerate Hawke´s personality or popularity?

Wouldn´t surprise me at all. Now that you mention it, the surprising thing would be that he didn´t.

I imagine that would depend on the relationship Varric has with Hawke. If He of the Magnificent Chest-Hair likes him/her, it would make sense if Varric made them out to be better than they are. Likewise if the feeling isn't so warm and fuzzy (which I doubt. Like anyone could feel anything OTHER than warm and fuzzy where Varric is concerned) I imagine he would be less...charitable.nightcobra8928 wrote...
hmm i wonder... will varric also exaggerate "in reverse", i mean, instead of varric making out hawke to be invincible would he make it the other way around? for example we find a boss creature or a main antagonist and throughout the battle the enemy boss is pratically invincible while our party is pictured as weaker than it. or even exaggerate in the sense that both sides were very powerful picturing it as battle of the titans type of story.

even if varric likes hawke i imagine he likes to tell stories where even the enemies are larger than life.

Well, they haven't confirmed that Varric is the only narrator, so I've assumed since the beginning that there will be at least two. Varric, who plays Hawke up, and someone else, who talks him down, since the devs did say that this was possible depending on Hawke's relationship with the narrator.
Hmm, I'm curious as to how an underplayed retelling of Hawke's exploits might work, maybe a Genlock as a major boss battle that is frustrating and very difficult, or maybe Hawke's dialogue options become somewhat neanderthal, somewhat like when your intelligence was drained in NWN/BG2?

Just stay away from spoilahz or context.
Example: The epilogue of chapter 1 is a big no-no.

That was Flemeth´s intro saving the day.
While he might say some enemies are toughter than they were, it would probably be when it makes Hawke stronger. Maybe the Qunari in the teaser went down in two hits and he made up an epic fight to avoid an anticlimax boss. Mowing down mooks makes you stronger, doing it to the bad guy lowers his threat rate and Hawke´s badass rank.
About the prowess in "other" areas, they could cut Varrick´s narration with a "don´t need to know that" for the love scenes, similar to Alistair in Morrigan´s teaser. While it´s probably the best way to ruin a (so far) romantic scene, it would work for later visits to the tent.
