Absolutely. None of the NPCs in DA to date have bowled me over with just their physical appearance. Not even Alistair. Not that I thought they were ugly, but none of them struck me as stunningly handsome either. They all got way more attractive to me when I got to know them, though. Weird how that works.

Well ok trailer Hawke struck me as ridiculously attractive but he doesn't count.

apart from solid snake / big boss this is one of the few games where i find the defaults really attractive. maybe it's because i liked the rugged look:whistle:

With that smirk and VO by Brian Bloom, it would be no surprise if legions of female (and male!) DA2 players would be mad about Varric (in a good way). Mad enough that even if he isn't an LI, will start a Varric for LI in DA3 campaign or create a mod ^^

But then there's always the voice acting problem... Writing a believable romance mod is one thing, but getting someone who sounds like the original is close to impossible - the option being substituting the whole voice set, which would not only be a gargantuan task, but also sinful, especially in Varric's case.

The only NPC in DA that I fell in love with based on appearance alone was Bann Teagan. There's something about that cute little braid..



I imagine Varric will be similar, personality and voice-acting will really bring his character to life (as it does for all characters in Dragon Age). It's all about the complete, larger picture.

Note: This doesn't mean there's a gay romance or a straight romance. Maybe it's a nug romance, who knows?

Hehehe,that made me fangirl giggle x3 With all of this hype I cant wait for the moment my Lady Hawke meets Varric in game.I think I will squee and flail my arms excitedly.Heh,that rymes  Sigh that shall be an epic day.

I've decided to cut back on some things I had planned for the Varric game, small things like the 16-bit Origins theme (I got to the vocals and then it made me rip my hair out in frustration) and a few dungeon plans. It saddens me but I'd like to get the game out before any HUGE info about Varric comes out and shatters the game into a dozen pieces.

However, I was capable of replacing the main theme with something I loved. The pitch shifter makes it even more awesome.
