Wonder what the "Varric is ugly" crowd are saying now that we have one in a decent angle with less blur.
I think he's ugly and looks like Jay Leno as a hairy dwarf.
But I wasn't going to say so unprompted for fear of getting eaten alive. Though I probably will anyway.
Holy ****, I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't say anything for the italicized reason lol... I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks he still looks ugly and now looks like a sleazy Jay Leno instead of a slightly less hairy Ron Jeremy.

The absolute only thing that Varric has in common with Jay Leno is the fact that he has a prominent chin. OMG THEY IS TWINZ.

And close set eyes. And a horse face. And the physique of a talk show host. Varric's nose is much bigger, though, so you're on to something there.

One, he's a dwarf; are you expecting a really short bodybuilder? Two, from that angle, everyone's eyes look close set. Just fyi. That's how faces and semi-profile views work. Not to mention I don't see the horse thing. You're grasping for straws.

His chin is the perfect size for applying a feed bag.

Incredulously criticizing someone for being a bit silly, letting an opinion run wild, and having a laugh... in this thread? Really?

Did you completely miss the part where I said you two were making me laugh? I wasn't trying to claw my way down your throat or anything. Or should I have used a smiley?Upsettingshorts wrote...

Well. That angle is certainly a much more flattering one. Me being critical and thinking of how I would draw him, I think his chin could do with being shortened by about half an inch, and a little fullness taken out of his cheeks. Plus his hair looks plasticky but that seems to be a problem of the game on the whole. Otherwise he looks awesome! Very excited to get a better view, finally.

I like to imagine that some of it is beard. I think the difference between SMIRK: ART Varric and SMIRK: ACTUAL Varric is that the concept art image has more forehead and less chin, whereas the model has more chin and a narrower forehead.

Anyway, that's all for my weekly cameo in the Varric thread. Have fun folks.

Now why would they go and do a thing like that? If I had a third knee growing out of my face, I would put it to good use. Like using it as a dinner plate, decreasing the time it takes to eat my food or use it as a scratcher (facial hair necessary) if my hands were preoccupied. Got some coconuts and nothing to open them with? No problem: massive chin of doom crushes that problem to bits!

While I like the angle better the head just looks too damn big.
I'm sure most men wouldn't mind having this problem.

Well he can still have a prominent chin without it having Leno proportions. As useful as a knee-chin may be..
