Everyone's taken their ****y pills today on the forums. I'd like to gain access to the Varric safe haven, please.

I'm getting anxious about when they finally start releasing video and stuff. I want to hear Varric most of all, even more than Hawke (because I don't really want to break out the hat marinade for nomming purposes), but I'm afraid that it'll be some time before we get to see/hear him. Because BioWare likes keeping me on my tiptoes, about to fall over myself in expectation. XD

At least on the list of games I've followed since their announcement, this is a pretty short wait. And there has to be some meaty and delicious footage released by the cutoff date for the preorder bonus, so that's a guarantee you won't be waiting until a month before the release date for a flood of info, at least. I wasn't stalking DA:O so I don't know how these guys do it.

Every time I feel the cold yet teasing hand of a marketing schedule I remind myself of Final Fantasy 13, which took YEARS, info came out every few -months-, and ended up being mediocre. I bought DA:O blind and was satisfied.

But yes, more Varric please! It would be funny to have a trailer narrated by him.

Haha, yeah, I'm happy with BioWare's recent releases being so close together for that reason exactly. I bought Origins blind and loved it, but I followed Mass Effect 1 from the first strain of info we got, along with ME2. The wait on the forums in the last weeks before release was almost painful. Even if it is only months, it's like time starts getting all stretchy when the release date approaches.

But you're right! We should be expecting more shinies in the near future. They've mentioned having stuff in the pipeline and I trust them. :) We'll be getting more Varric eventually. I just get all antsy when I don't hear anything. This new Lowtown info is intriguing, though!

Argh, want Varric narrating a trailer SOBAD.

I hope to god if Varric narrates a trailer, it isn't spoilerific. I'm disappearing, only posting the Varric game, when the spoilers come up.

Knowing what happens and experiencing what happens are two different things, at least for me. You can know about Morrigan's offer all you want, but after you've been squeeing and exchanging presents with Alistair for 30 hours, it starts to mean something. Alistair *v*

Unless Varric comes up and says "Sorry ladies and gents, I'm actually betrothed, I die halfway through the game, I betray you numerous times, and I slept with your LI," I want to hear what he has to say haha.

Actually, any of those things could potentially be interesting. Except death. :(

Varric, giving out spoilers, he wouldn't do that.  More likely he'll give out spoilers for Mass Effect 3 but word it so you think its a spoiler for DA2.

Before release of Origins...
I knew about Loghain's betrayal at Ostagar.
I knew about Duncan / Cailan's death.
I knew about Jory / Daveth's death.
I knew about the Mage Tower.
I knew about Demon-Connor and the Undead.
I knew about the Werewolves and the Lady of the Forest.
I knew about the Sacred Ashes.
I knew about the Landsmeet (though not all the options in there).
I knew about every companion, except for the secret companion.

A few more things. The game was fun but none of it was as fun as if I didn't know what would happen.

Wow, you were screwed over. Did all of that info come out before the game or was it people dropping spoilers left and right on the forums?

Maybe someone needs to be your designated trailer screener. I volunteer to report the presence of any significant-sounding plot things. /salute.

It came from following the trailers / footage. For example, Gametrailers TV was the one that explained the Connor / Undead and the Werewolf / Lady of the Forest.

Oh ew, that's obnoxious. I wonder what is driving those kind of reveals, marketing who thinks it would be good material to entice buyers or buyers with no confidence in making a purchase without an outline of the game.

Well, that's third parties for you... :P

I think the only things that were really spoiled for me with DA:O was the companions (they listed them all on the main site) and then most of Ostagar, because they had that narrated walkthrough thingy, so I knew about the prisoner in the cage and stuff.  Of course I loved the narration of "There can be big consequences from killing this guy... blah blah blah" and nothing happend.  <_<

The main site stuff tends to not be too bad in terms of spoilers and such, its more controlled information too so maybe that helps.  I know the Garrus thing in ME2 was spoiled for a lot of people, but when I was playing it, I didn't see any trailers or anything for ME2 and I knew that the crazy guy blowing away mercs was Garrus.  It  was obvious even without the spoilers ;).

Yeah there were way to many plot spoilers given out about Origins pre-release.
I Always knew that the problem wasn't going to be solved at Ostagar, i knew since one of the earlier previews said that at the begining of the game you would fight the darkspawn at a place called Ostagar. But  videos which just said they were showing off the choices and combat system ended up showing me that both Duncan and Cailan would die and that Loghain would betray the King.

For my sanity, I just stick here. My BSN homepage is already filled with FFffFFfffFFff- today, I don't really want to look, for my health or something, idk.

*gets Varric pillow and eats nutella anyway*

I agree completely Dave and am planning on doing the same thing when spoilers start to appear. I will of course be popping in to worship the Varric game when it finally arrives though!

I had the same feeling that the various plot twists and awesome moments of Origins were greatly diminished by my prior knowledge of what was involved (from trailers/reviews/previews etc.) the origins themselves are a good example in fact as IGN gave detailed run downs on all of them and I couldn't resist. This time will be different! I hope...
