Same. At first I had a hard time imagining Leske's voice actor representing Varric in the game, though I eventually grew out of that preconception the more I got used to the idea. Now however there's no doubt in my mind that it was the perfect fit for the character.
Actually I'm curious though, who gets a say in which voice actor would be right for which character? Did you have the largest say Mary with Varric, because he's essentially your creation, or is it a group effort between the sound and writing departments?

Caroline Livingstone is our Voiceover Director of Awesomeness. Typically for an important character, she gets the character description and then does a bunch of auditions, narrows down the auditions to a few, and passes the chosen ones on to the writing department to see what we think. I remember trying to decide between two different Stens at one point on Origins.  Sometimes she just knows who to cast, and this was the case with Varric, actually.

I am so on board for some banter between Varric and Isabela along the lines of Leliana/Morrigan and LadyWarden about Alistair. No matter who or what he likes, I can't imagine that he'd turn away juicy gossip.

Maybe everyone should examine how/if a video game character discusion is a worth while place to discuss views on permiscuity and move on to discussing something that's at least a tiny bit less loaded with personal judgments.

That's really cool actually. And at least we know who to thank for the initial casting as well.

^^ I don't think the hair is moving, it seems to be light reflection changing on the hair. She has shiny hair. Must be a lyrium side effect.

Ah well, Varric seems to have shiny hair as well, atleast there.  Though I did notice his hairstyle is different in the interrogation... interview than his in game hairstyle (like the concept art) while blowing people away with Bianca.  Which is pretty neat.

Man I remember when water looked like a patchwork quilt, now we get dynamic hair. It's amazing how much that little shift of hair enhances her presence.

Edit: Dangit. You guys crushed my dreams. In which case, it's a very effective... reflection.

Yup, it's just the highlights shifting as she moves. It's more obvious in the full size trailer.

It looks like Varric's hair gets some of the shiny too.

Pseudo, it looks like it's rippling to me, too. Also, I think I've seen Flemeth's hair move, as well. And her outfit. Moving hair wouldn't surprise me.

Actually, now that I look at the trailer, the shine wouldn't move unless the surface moved. So... huh. I think it did. Looks like there are three or four segments that make up her bangs and they did move. IT IS THE FUTURE!

Varric's got it easy. He doesn't have to animate all of his hair.
